    The Harris campaign better be taking notes from the conversation.

    I want to take a moment to appreciate the new logo's gradation aesthetic.
    It seems refreshingly fitting given the theme of the podcast. It's not just about see the "gray area" but also all the colors in the spectrum.

    I would love to see more conversations like this with young liberals. I listen to Crooked. My 16 yr old listens to Hasan Piker. I agree with Hasan and my son so much in theory, but struggle to get him to understand the necessity of the Harris-Walz campaign trying to pull center right swing voters into the tent. I do think maybe they don’t need to lean as hard right as they have, and would appreciate them injecting some more humanity into the rhetoric, but I get it and due to a lot of experience, am not as inclined to hold it against them as the young people I know are.

    I’m calling my Trump supporting family members today. I’m gay. I’m a veteran. I served under don’t ask don’t tell. I was sexually assaulted. I took two airmen up on charges of sexual harassment. I serve from 2000 to 2004. I need my family to know how absolutely terrified I am. I do not have the same reach as Elon Musk or Donald Trump. But they are my family. They need to hear this from me. Call your family members. This is not normal! ~ it’s time our families begin serving people like us the way we have served them for decades. 🙏

      If your family still supports Trump at this stage, they won’t care enough to change. They may pay you lip service but they will still vote for him.

    Enormous props for having Hasan on despite, as Jon says, their politics not always lining up. Hasan has been very critical of Kamala's trajectory since her nomination while pod save has mostly praised her speeches and messaging. Excited to watch!

      I think that's great actually. It really makes for an interesting back and forth. Much better than just people agreeing on everything.

    What an interesting interview! I'm totally hooked. As a European, most of his positions are similar, most of his "why don't they..." questions are what I shout at the breakfast-table when I read the US-politics-page on my newspaper. Seriously great!

      I just wanna add that part of the problem with the media-information on Israel is due to the fact that journalists are not allowed to go into Gaza. They're highly restricted, so their information relies SOLELY on what the Israeli government and military offer. At least here, they try to also mention what the Palestinians say - like victim-numbers, for example - but it's all practically a black box of non-information. So what you get is people online getting information from citizens of Gaza who post their stories but because it can't be fact-checked, journalists try to avoid those stories because they cannot get in contact with those sources. It's a nightmare!
      Also, the distrust in "classical" media is by design. I'm absolutely certain that it has been purposefully pushed by Trump for this exact purpose: if you control the news, you control the people. If you can't control the big newsoutlets directly (except Fox), you make sure people don't trust those and only rely on small tictoc-accounts or posts on twitter or facebook. It started definitely before the 2016 election but was widely seen at that point. By getting Meta to shut up and by hooking Twitter through the Muskrat, they now control a lot of the information that people have.
      And by "they" I don't mean Republicans at large but the right-winging people who sit behind the scenes and allow Trump to utilize his dazzle to hook more and more into his sphere.
      Erdogan in Turkey, Putin, Austria, Hungary and Poland - in everyone of those countries, the right-wing leaders who were/are at the top of government have tried to get their foot into Universities , schools and especially media because that's how you control the masses. It's right out of the 1933-Nazi-playbook. It's EXACTLY how you bend and twist a whole nation into your blind and dumb adoring followers.

    I appreciate the insight and the knowledge and the different perspectives. But this guest talks in such a cocky, smug, know-it-all sorta way. I guess yeah, makes sense if he's the "bro" talking about "bro" shit. What a vapid demographic.

    • @benjaminleiker9466
      @benjaminleiker9466 44 минуты назад +6

      I think a lot of what you’re interpreting as smug is frustration. He’s been touting these same policies and requests of the Democratic Party for 10 years and he sees them swinging in the opposite direction

    • @javiermontiero4982
      @javiermontiero4982 37 минут назад

      @@benjaminleiker9466 i can appreciate frustration. Without a doubt. But smug is believing you know better when maybe you don't. Idk what the best approaches are, no one does. But instead of phrasing his theories as suggestions, he frames them as accusations. That's smug. I agree with most of the things he says. Not everything. But I disagree with how he's saying it all. It's grating. Take the host, he rebutted at a couple points but never did he refute anything in a smarmy way.

    Please stop platforming Hasan. He's an embarrassment to the left. Someone who routinely defends the Houthis and Hezbollah shouldn't be given a pass of "different opinions". The antisemetic comments on his discord are off the charts too. I say this as someone who strongly disagrees with what Isreal is currently doing, but the stuff on his channel and discord is way, way too far.

  • @baph42

    I wish you could find a better representative of left-wing politics than Hasan Piker. His whole platform is the epitome of 'do-nothing-and-complain-when-nothing-happens', and his community are rabid when it comes to anything related to Israel-Palestine.
