@Lana Blakely this video opened my eyes yesterday. We have been having some financial difficulties recently and I have been really depressed because of it. Anxiety is my worst problem... BUT recently I have bought a house in a village where I previously owned 5 acres of land a run a small farm raising pigs and chickens and growing veggies. Only 6 other elderly people live here so we often have coffee together. When I saw your video, I realized I live your dream. How can I be miserable when I live someone elses dream?! My other problems somehow seemed solvable. Thank you!
My personality is pretty materialistic and impulsive when I want something, but I’ve been able to manage it through promising to myself, “wait X amount of time, let it sit in the cart, and if you still like it after X days, then buy it without worry.” And the time frame increases depending on however more expensive the purchase price is. The promise does two things: Satisfies my strong craving that I must have it (just, later) and controlling the impulse through a framework. A lot of times I actually don’t want the item by the next day, lol - hence, saving me lots of money
I wish there were more people like you. I never met anyone like you, I just wanted to say thank you. You seem to embodied all of the best things, I wish you all the best

I take time to think about whether it'll really be worth it, check out reviews, compare with other products and prices, and then only go for it if I really feel that it is going to be actually useful to me. Saves me from a lot of impulsive spending. And the best thing is nowadays you have product reviews on youtube for everything. 14:10 - 14:20 I love how you used the word 'exchange' here instead of sacrifice. Ultimately, I think the essence of saving is knowing when you can make do with less.
Delayed gratification is a great technique, a good way to practice this is by putting things you want to buy in the basket on a website. Then leaving the website until the next day or so. This is a good way to ponder if you actually want these things, or it was just an impulsive purchase. With the internet everything is only a few clicks away, so it can be easy to spend without thinking it through.
How you thought of sharing your farm with elderly is how I exactly envision my farm in the future but open it to everyone who are less financially fortunate not only with elderly. I love your kindness and this is why I love your channel ❤️
Investors make up the top notch hemisphere of the wealth. That's the more reason why one should save and invest to secure profit and ensure success....🎲
@Anna Rebecca I'm a novice who is looking to make investments lately in the stock or forex market, but I've seen a lot of stock market crashing lately I'm quite skeptical about it what's my chance of being profitable?
My dear I ain't gonna lie to you my dear, the truth is that it's really profitable but at the same time it can be your worst nightmare if you happen to be at the wrong end of the rope.
Rationality and efficient utilization of resources also play most significant role in saving money and resources. this is a part of decision making practice where in an individual exercises sensible choice making, which provides him with the optimum amount of benefit.
Wow, I love this so much. I’ve been really trying to understand my spending habits and I love how you mentioned the concept of delayed gratification. In this day in age, it’s like social media trains us for instant gratification. We want results fast. One tool you mentioned that has changed my perspective is understanding if the amount of hours i put in the office is worth me spending this amount of money on something. LOVE THIS. THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏🏼
I have started following you lately. I love the way you talk and put the things on table for your audience. You mentioned you bought an apartment for yourself, I would so love to have a house tour as to me it always looks very pleasent in the background. Also, I am glad to see that someone out there is intrested to address sensible topics as it's a bit difficult to find these days. Looking forward to your great content in near future. Be safe, sending you love from India/Japan.
Really good point about asking yourself how many hours you would need to work to in order to afford something. I've done this too and helps put things into perspective.
“ Money is not something that we should be whispering but should be talked about.” nice one Ms. Blakely! I agree on this and I just recently understood this thought and it should really work from within first to help us change our ways. I’m glad to come across your channel! I’m inspired to create more content, too. I’m from the PHILIPPINES! 😅🥳🥰
Mindset is THE most important thing. It is great that you went into detail about this. Some people are so rooted in their negative programming, you could tell them, "I'm here to help" and they'll reply, "can't relate."
Thank you for talking about the importance of mindset and priority when we talk about money. I see you mentioned Graham Stephan’s channel, I also highly recommend his videos for saving and investing strategy!
Ahaha the bit about delayed gratification and opting out of the the clubs with your friends to own a farm and raise some chickens was the best. You're truly a wonderful soul Lana.
Love that you talk about saving money by helping people. You're doing what you're supposed to do. You're not saving up to retire so then you can start living your life. No, you're living your life right now, so that when you retire its just a continuation of it. I talk about the importance of building wealth in my latest video. Thanks for being such a kind soul.
I just want to say thank you so much for making all these videos by sharing your stories and your advice to help us! I’ve been watching you for awhile now and you’re amazing! 💕
Lana you have helped me so much with your videos I can't say enough to thank you. Keep making videos you have helped alot of people.I used to have a videogame addiction and you helped me so much you have changed my life.(thanks for everything without you I wouldn't be this happy.)
Hello Lana, I was actually wondering if you could do a video about optimism and pessimism as well as their effect on the mindset and behaviour of a person. That would be a very interesting topic to learn about ^^
This is the first video of yours that I have watched but I loved it and you laid things out really clearly and made me realise that I need to have a specific goal to work towards so that I can always think of that thing when I'm tempted to spend on 'wants'. Please do the video on what you don't spend money on and what you use instead. Thank you!
This is the only video on Saving money/finance related content that i could watch till the end. Being an INFJ myself, it's a therapy - listening to you. The knowledge you share in your videos is a Bonus. Thank you so much for your videos :)

14:10 - 14:20 I love how you used the word 'exchange' here instead of sacrifice. Ultimately, I think the essence of saving is knowing when you can make do with less.
also if anyone wants to treat themselves and go out with friends there are SO many free options out there!!
I'm amazed by Lana her video's. Her voice is so calming
Well said, you have a wise point on that. But what exactly do we invest in I'd be happy if you give me some ideas and give them a try
@Anna Rebecca I'm a novice who is looking to make investments lately in the stock or forex market, but I've seen a lot of stock market crashing lately I'm quite skeptical about it what's my chance of being profitable?
I'm a successful profitable trader in "Forex" and "Stocks"
@@villa8719 that's a wise decision in few months time you'll be ecstatic of the decision you've made.
2:45 YES! Worked so hard on my money mindset the last months.
LOVE THIS. THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏🏼
🙏
You can see how much love and effort you put into your work / videos. thank you :)
Lana's videos always have something that put a smile on my face. The farm yard animals 😁
Don't buy the latest tech (iPhone) every year.
Or don't have all the streaming packages.
Discipline isn't easy but it is achievable.
🤘🤓
I want that video about what you don't buy anymore!! Love your advice, as always 💘
If you can't buy two of them, don't buy one. Meaning if you don't have enough to buy 2 TVs, don't buy 1. Reconsider your priorities
that's an awesome mindset!! thank you for sharing
Woah that's genius.
That is a great thought!
I live by that but then i save for like 2 years and can finally afford one, so i just buy it coz i can't legally have a job
Nice one
Please make a videos more like this, what you don't shop and why? It's so soothing watching your videos 🤗
Omg the farm idea with the elderly this is the cutest best idea ever 😭
Thank you so much🌻❤ i love your videos so much
Thank you for talking about the importance of mindset and priority when we talk about money. I see you mentioned Graham Stephan’s channel, I also highly recommend his videos for saving and investing strategy!
Thanks Lana, we are reposting your videos at our blog ❤️🙏
Yes please make a video about what things you don’t spend money on.❤️❤️
Lana..plz.do a video on spending and the substitutes that we can actually choose.
Invest rather save, What nobody tells you is the value of the money you save in the bank drops 2% every year, losing purchasing power overtime
Ahaha the bit about delayed gratification and opting out of the the clubs with your friends to own a farm and raise some chickens was the best. You're truly a wonderful soul Lana.
I've found your channel a week ago and i adore you a lot
Love the content
Yes please make a video on what you sacrifice to save extra money.

I find these cut off parts of your videos funnier than I should
Love that you talk about saving money by helping people. You're doing what you're supposed to do. You're not saving up to retire so then you can start living your life. No, you're living your life right now, so that when you retire its just a continuation of it. I talk about the importance of building wealth in my latest video. Thanks for being such a kind soul.
Very good video. Money can't be separated from emotions. When you're working on your finances, you are working on your emotions.
Great advice and simplified, thanks for this 🙌
I just want to say thank you so much for making all these videos by sharing your stories and your advice to help us! I’ve been watching you for awhile now and you’re amazing! 💕
You are so classy and such a sweet soul. I’m so much older than you but you truly inspire me to be a more responsible adult!
Lana you have helped me so much with your videos I can't say enough to thank you. Keep making videos you have helped alot of people.I used to have a videogame addiction and you helped me so much you have changed my life.(thanks for everything without you I wouldn't be this happy.)
Deeply instructive. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼
Thank you!
I even listen to her talking about the sponsor.. I usually skip those parts! she is so soothing!
🙏
This is the only video on Saving money/finance related content that i could watch till the end.
Being an INFJ myself, it's a therapy - listening to you.
The knowledge you share in your videos is a Bonus. Thank you so much for your videos :)
You're right lana💘 What to do when only shopping ease ones anxieties?
Would love a video on how you manage your priorities and save by cutting down on splurging 😊
