Are you picking any of these up?
    #Omnibus #ComicBooks #Manga #Marvel #dccomics
Trigun Deluxe Edition collects Trigun Volume 1 and 2 in a beautiful hardcover featuring nearly 700 pages of Yasuhiro’s Nightow’s signature creation, collected for the first time in its original oversized format!
On the forbidding desert planet of Gunsmoke, a sixty billion double-dollar bounty hangs over the head of Vash the Stampede, a pistol-packing pacifist with a weapon capable of punching holes in a planet. Every trigger-happy psycho in creation is aiming to claim Vash dead or alive-preferably dead!-and although Vash believes in nonviolence, he won’t go down without a fight. And when Vash fights, destruction is sure to follow!
Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition Volume 1 collects the first three Trigun Maximum volumes in a deluxe hardcover featuring nearly 600 pages of Nightow’s signature creation in the original oversized format!
Complete your journey following the early exploits of the TMNT in this collection of stories from the original Mirage comics!
This third and final compendium completes Mirage’s first run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics, collecting issues #38-62. Included are stories by contributors Rich Hedden, Tom McWeeney, Matt Howarth, Rick McCollum, Bill Anderson, Paul Jenkins, A.C. Farley, Rick Arthur, Dan Berger, and Michael Dooney.
The volume ends with “Shades of Gray” and the 13-part epic “City at War” that concludes the series by co-creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird with Jim Lawson.
You didn't think we were going to stop with Vol. 4, did you? Marvel presents a fifth oversized Omnibus of the series that started it all! Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway, John Buscema and Rich Buckler continue the FF's adventures as the Frightful Four launch a surprise attack with their newest member - Thundra - that pushes Reed and Sue to the breaking point! And when Sue leaves the team, an Inhuman joins the FF. Who will it be? Also featuring Agatha Harkness, world's creepiest babysitter; Annihilus' plan to harness the enormous powers of Franklin Richards; the return of the Silver Surfer; Namor's invasion of New York; a royal wedding; and, of course, Doctor Doom! Plus: All four of the FF's Giant-Size adventures, letters pages and more! Collecting FANTASTIC FOUR (1961) #126-163, GIANT-SIZE SUPER-STARS #1, GIANT-SIZE FANTASTIC FOUR (1974) #2-4 and AVENGERS (1963) #127.
The epic climax of Marvel’s classic saga of the Spaceknight! Rom has exposed the vile Dire Wraiths hiding in Earth’s midst ― but that only means his accursed enemies become more bold…and more deadly! It’s a good thing Rom has allies, including his armored companion, Starshine, and fellow heroes including Nick Fury, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Alpha Flight and the New Mutants ― but will perennial sidekick, Rick Jones, be his new best pal? As the Dire Wraiths scale up their invasion plans, seeking to merge their Wraithworld with Earth, Forge of the X-Men lends a technological hand ― and, in the final fight to save the world, practically every Marvel super hero joins the fray! But, if Rom can complete his mission at last, what will that leave for the Spaceknight? Can he find his happy ending, back on Galador? Collecting ROM (1979) #51-75 and ANNUAL #3-4, and INCREDIBLE HULK (1968) #296.
Every Spider-Man story featuring the action-packed art of Erik Larsen - including his fan-favorite collaboration with writer David Michelinie! These two top-notch creators pitted Spidey against heavyweights like Magneto, the Tri-Sentinel and the Punisher - but that was just a warm-up for the main events: The return of the Sinister Six! A deadlier-than-ever Venom! And a senses-shattering showdown with Doctor Doom! In this seminal run, Spider-Man gains cosmic abilities, loses his spider-powers, battles Styx & Stone and the Black Fox, and fights alongside…Sandman and the Avengers?! Plus: A latter-day showdown with the Spider-Slayers - and Larsen doubles up as writer to team Spider-Man with Wolverine and deliver the shocking sequel "Revenge of the Sinister Six"! Collecting AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1963) #287, #324, #327 and #329-350; SPIDER-MAN (1990) #15, #18 and #21-23; AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1999) #19-21; and material from MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS (1988) #48-50 and SPIDER-MAN (1990) #19-20.

It was rumored that Stan Lee told the artists he worked with after Kirby to “do it more like Jack”, 😂. I recall John Buscema doing an interview where he said how he was given Jack’s work to reference when he needed a bit of direction. It’s amazing how much influence Jack Kirby had, with stories like these, and so many more.

Triangle Years reduces the gap, but not entirely, it goes:
    - Byrne´s Hard Covers Vol 1, 2, 3 and 4 (hopefully replaced by 2 omnis at some point)
    - Exile Omnibus
    - OMNIBUS NEEDED
    - Triangle Years Omnibus Vol 1
    - OMNIBUS NEEDED
    - Death and Return (probably rename to Triangle Years vol 3)
I would like they make one triangle omni per year so Triangle Year 1992, Triangle year 1993 and so on.

Trigun really only picks up at the end of the first Deluxe Edition. The great stuff then comes in Maximum and the following volumes. The anime is a very differen beast. It has many similar storybeats as Trigun/Maximum in the beginning, but the manga is waaaay longer and has a VERY different conclusion. This is due to the anime having 26 episodes, which were all produced in 1998 and the manga running till 2007.

I'm so happy I went with the DM cover for the Michelinie/Larsen Spider-Man omnibus. At first, I wanted, or I _thought_ I wanted, the standard cover because I thought it would be like the original cover. Not sure why I felt that way then, because NOW the DM cover just screams to me "This is the one to get!"
I kinda like it when they put the DM cover and the standard cover on either side of the hardback under the dustjacket, but I think I like it more when there's different art there, even if it's like a "collage" like on this book.

The OG Turtles comics are super indie, and I love those. I LOVE the silver age reprints from Marvel and DC. Buscema is in my top 5. Great haul.

I have all the deluxe editions for manga except for Hellsing since the Hellsing Ultimate OVA is good enough for me on that one. And yeah, nothing tops Berserk, though Blade of the Immortal, to me, is still up there as a great manga that I love. I read the Trigun deluxe edition. I feel that the second volume is a lot better than the first. I'm still waiting for Instock Trade to send me Trigun Maximum Deluxe volume 1 (along with the Spider-Man by Eric Larson omnibus and a bunch of other things that I ordered last week), but I expect that to be better since that's when Trigun becomes a seinen manga. But yeah, the Trigun anime might not be the best thing out there, but I still enjoyed watching it and so far, yeah, it doesn't hold a candle to Berserk, but it still seems like it's worth getting into.
I guess they're also giving Vegabond a deluxe edition manga. I hear that one's also good, but I might pass on it since I don't know anything about it.

  • @Tsiri
    @Tsiri 4 дня назад

I've read from fans of Trigun that the hardcover edition still uses the old 90's translation, which is unfortunately full of typos and mistranslations, or weird sentences that confuse people. This one needed a new translation badly, a shame they didn't bother. Only thing new with these hardcovers compared to the out of print paperbacks is the SFX are subtitled now. Otherwise, same old manga, just in a flashy hardcover omnibus format. I'm still getting them because I never owned the series, if I had the old paperbacks I'd probably not bother. I guess a lot of people consider it a lazy cash grab by Dark Horse and are even giving it low ratings on stores for the old translation.
Interestingly, Hellsing on the other hand did receive a new translation. They then went back and re-released the paperback version with it, too.
If you're interested in reading a far more accurate translation by the fans, check out Trigun Ultimate Overhaul. There's a 1.0 and 2.0 version, these are based on English vs Japanese scans that they edited over. The 2.0 (JP) scan is required for them to upload it to digital reading sites. They're not allowed to use English copyright scans for obvious reasons.
