  • I went to a new lake and caught the absolute fire out of them. I hadn't had this much fun on the lake it quite a while. Spotted Bass aren't always my favourite but I had so much fun!

    You were cooking on that trolling motor while scanning. Do you just move as fast as you can and if you see something you throw at it? Get one shot and if it doesn't bite you're already blowing past it?

    Great stuff!!!! Would like to know what size weight you use based on the depth you are scoping? 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 looks like half just curious if you change based on depth of fish. Thanks

    Good video, what is the MFG of the FFS?

  • @bigc8018
    @bigc8018 6 месяцев назад +1

    Great video. You're on to something here and its a page from the Milliken playbook. Ever since the proliferation of FFS, among the tournament/YT viewer community, there has been this notion that watching a guy stare at his LS screen with his head down is as boring as watching paint dry (of course, most leave out the fact that it is just as equally boring to watch a guy pitch a jig to 500 yards of buck brush). However, what makes it boring IS watching the guy watch his screen. What makes that really INTERESTING is just what you have done here. You put your FPV in the bottom of the screen in a canton and the rest of the screen is from the LS. For me, and many others, THAT is compelling to watch. Regardless if its a fish video, TV show, movie, etc. what makes it compelling for the viewer is the suspense/unknown. In this case, is the fish going to bite, break off an attack, smash it immediately and we watch because we DON'T know what its going to do. Now THAT is interesting to watch. BASS and other tournament organizations should realize that too and if they did, they'd probably find the ratings would be much better. When Milliken drops a multi-hour vid using this format, I rarely fail to watch the whole thing BECAUSE its INTERESTING. This is a format that can change the pervasive thought that you can only hold a viewers attention for 10-20 minutes for a video. Keep incorporating this into your repertoire and I think you will do well.
    If you get a chance and can find them, look for some old Jerry Dean "Honey Hole" fishing vids. He revolutionized the TV fishing show game 40 years ago. His show was the first to show the reality of how fishing actually goes in real life. He would start the show with a lake map, point out areas he was going to try, the techniques and lures he was going to use. Then, he would go out and film on the water doing what he said he would. The great part of the show was that if he struck out, he struck out or if he loaded up he loaded up. Prior to this show, all Bass fishing TV shows were mostly of the Bill Dance mode. What we kids didn't realize was that Dance's show was completely canned. It was shot over a week or more and usually in privately stocked fishing waters where anyone with a bottle cap and a hook could catch fish. Then it was edited together to look like Dance is catching fish nearly every cast and the whole thing was really just to pimp whatever bait he was pushing. Back to Dean's show. At the end, he would go back to the map in the "studio" and show where he caught (or didn't) catch fish, what he did right and what he did wrong, or what he would have done differently if had it to do over. It was a great show.
    I have always maintained that if someone replicated that format and incorporated LS (in the manner that you have just done here) they would be a big success. Keep up the work and your time will come.
