  • Oftentimes, nothing in reality seems to align with an INFP’s ideals. Why in the world do our desires always end up as irrational? It’s frustrating indeed. Unless… we embrace it.
I am an INFP, and I love being one. Ever heard of the INFP advantage? Here are the perks of being an INFP that I hope you appreciate these, too!

I'm an INFP but I'm not a slow learner. Yeah, I memorize things slowly and forget them easily because I have a bad memory. But when things are practically, I learn them easily and quickly.

Exactly I literally understand and can memorize things quite easily and if it's something difficult just need a bit of practice that's it but the only thing I trouble with is I'm too innocent for the world and have hard times understanding other people and common sense in some cases

I love being an INFP and I honestly wouldn't change a thing. I especially love my imagination but isn't it also kind of a curse? XD Like I'll be in the shower and have a random thought and there I go having a philosophical debate in my mind and when I'm done I realize it's been more than a hour lol

    No, INFPs aren't slow learners.
They often take their time to take in and process new information before speaking up about it, but they typically learn very quickly. INFPs are adaptable and fast-thinkers - they just might not be very vocal about it, which leads some people to believe they're slow learners.

I'm a quick learner as well, it's just that, I like to thoroughly understand whatever is happening to feel satisfied with the content, which people most often skip, that mindset actually makes me understand the concepts much better and outdo others.
Searching and then understanding the root cause is what takes the time, but as for basic/shallow understanding, which is usually taught, it's a quick learn thing.
Also, connecting the new info with the existing information bank in my head also takes time but it often creates new possibilities and perspectives. That's why I hate when being rush to finish a topic, cause I actually wanna understand the depths of it.

You're completely right! As an INFP I can say that I learn very quickly to perform a task, in fact, I have an experience that contrasts with the plot of the video and in relation to the Se function thing of making us very bad at learning hand-on skills and other sports activities even: during a birthday in a skate parlor, it was my first time but I learned to skate perfectly on my own in just 1 hour! Also in sports classes I focus enough on my body to understand it and thus give my best as I can, and I do.

As a middle-aged INFP, I'd also add our willingness to add a little magic and wonder into the world is one of the perks, especially as we age. Whether that be through creating worlds for readers in our books or tweaking the nose of reality through doing community work, blowing bubbles to entertain younger relatives or just skipping down the street when a more whimsical mood strikes.

I'm an INFP and I only realized that I am a slow learner just recently when I decided that I wanted to pursue something new. Growing up, I considered myself a fast learner because understanding various and complex concepts was almost 2nd nature to me. This is why I was surprised that I am taking a lot of time in getting things done with this new thing that I am trying to pursue. Honestly, it gave me a lot of anxiety and feelings of self-doubt because I couldn't get it right away. This was when I realized that yeah, I'm not a fast learner when it comes to the application side of learning and I shouldn't be ashamed of that.

As an INFP, I just cannot wrap by head around people who don’t have internal monologues.
My monologues/dialogues between my own characters are so entertaining it often keeps me awake at night. One of the best things to do is to explore your imaginary worlds within a lucid dream. That way you can ‘actually physically be there’, in a way.

Most interestingly, if Sensors are telling you that you, an INFP, had to organize your work better (give it more structure or whatever platitudes they may come up with) and both you as an INFP and said Sensor are starting to work on the same task, if the INFP knows exactly what he is doing and has streamlined his work flow, chances are very high that the INFP is going to complete his task *way before* the Sensor does (once Ne subdominant has homed in on a viable path of action, Te inferior quickly dissects the task and cranks out the necessary steps to be taken, especially if it's properly backed up by Si).
Alas, *do not interfere* with the INFP's thought processes or you are going to severely disrupt them!
The most annoying part about that: If we are doing anything, people frequently start bugging us, either by scoffing at what we are doing or giving unsolicited advice, causing our thought processes to crash thoroughly and then blame us for being too scatterbrained. Gosh! Do they even _notice_ that it is they who are wreaking havoc?

For real, the only job I ever lost due to issues stemming from me was when I got let go due to my organizational skills. They were also having trouble keeping me busy and I would frequently have to bounce back to the shop
(I don't think I could bring myself to fake working...back then. Today? Watch me not work my fingers to the bone yet look like a trooper)
It's not like I didn't earn it, though. I was having trouble keeping busy. I was a blue-collar stumbling through his first job piloting a desk. I can't fault them, they gave me a chance. I didn't even ask for it. Maybe I took a job I really didn't want.
      Post script:
      Did I mention I'm INFP?

Unfortunately for INFPs, the job culture of "teamwork" usually means that they don't get to implement their processes to accomplish tasks because there are always others jumping in to "help" without any sense of how to structure the work efficiently. It's like a little league soccer team that swarms to the ball instead of coordinating to pass the ball from player to player. Also micromanagers get in the way. INFPs set up systems to aid the efficiency and consistency of work (kind of like setting up a jig for woodworking so you can turn out many identical pieces and not have to measure every time or resort to guesswork), only for a shortsighted micromanager to mistake the preparations INFPs make to do the work efficiently for the work itself, and then torpedo the whole process having deemed it "inefficient".

@@nathanwood4762 If they want to play the smart-ass card so much, I'd just welk away, telling them that since they have so much more experience, they should be doing it instead.
I then just need to wait for things to go haywire for them. Guess who is then coming back either groveling or complaining about things not working at all. It's absolutely hilarious almost every time.

0:27 this is exactly why INFP's bloom later in their life.
we literally age like fine wine.
1:03 not true for me, i never really have trouble with 'hands-on-skills' just explain to me what to do once, i try and do it, and i remember how i did it.
i don't remember how i got to the end result though. because i'd like to focus on whether i did it right or not, and if i did, i try to perfect the method.
concepts are simply a given. its like someone put all the information i need to realize a concept. so in that sense maybe i am a slow learner in hands on skills...
oh god im question myself again..

I'm an INFP, and one thing I've noticed about myself is that I often perceive myself as overly emotional (and dislike myself for it), but others tend to see me as too serious. This is because I tend to internalize my feelings and process them on my own, which makes me more aware of them, but others may have no clue about it and they believe I am a very centered and serious person.
The part of the video that discusses being wise really resonated with me. I always have this reluctance to speak up in a room full of people, but when I do, they pay attention and react with "amazement." What I consider ordinary turns out to be a very wise perspective for them.

In work areas, one of the things largely annoys me is that coworkers that tell me what to do(organizing stuff/how i should work) when in reality i am more efficient and not stupid than them and they are the ones who get called up by the manager due to their worse output(likely prib sensors) And also like at the back of my mind "mind your damn business btch/bastard" but i still stay quiet and nice because I don't want further damage. So i just laugh at their faces secretly when they fail and when a btch cries in public cause she can't handle the work(same btch who orders me how i should do my work).
Anyways, i tend to make people wanna boss me around because i am passive and treat them nice as a fellow human being but it backfires me a lot. I learn to be cold atleast in work areas and avoid being too friendly and nice. So many snakes out in the corporate world really. And usually ones who get way too much in their heads. Forgot to.mention manipulative or fierce leaders ready to eat you

I definitely often feel a certain duality. Appreciating myself, my authenticity, my imagination; being like no one else. And on the other hand I would like being able to conform. To just be able to just approach people easily and be better at more practical things and be interesting in things that are likely to be more financially lucrative.

Thank you for this , I am a original INTP yet I am more like a hybrid MBTI type , I am a combined of INTP - ENTP - INFP.
I think like INTP , socialize like ENTP (not aggressive tho 😅) and feels like INFP, so one MBTI didn't represent my qualities so when I look in to other types where I saw qualities pretty accurately. But in combine of course yet I liked the both INTP and ENTP but being a INFP was not never to my liking at the beginning (cuz I didn't know about them) I always thought they are very sensitive. But after watching the video I understand how I can use this for my advantage , it was not only very relatable to me as well its also lift my mood. So thank you ❤️

    Hi
95percent of your content resonates with me an INFP. There's a topic i would like you to make video on. I have pondered about it and also would like to hear your insights
How to not regret after opening up as an infp?
Well first of all no matter how much you say about your feelings, they will never fully understand the depth of it and remember they are your feelings so the chances of them pondering upon it the next day itself are rare. Unless you have really said something mean or hurtful to them and in that case it's better to regret only 😜. But often times when we speak about our daydreams or how a specific someone can make your heart so warm( you might not have even met him, maybe just crushing over him but you have already made up your whole world about him). A normal person would find you silly or foolish but we infps don't open up to normal people. If you have shared such details then that person must be special and i am telling you they will find your musings amusing. But that's all.
Always keep in mind, infps are the ones who have a high tendency towards overthinking. So people it may be our trait but not the other's (and if you are wondering, what if the person you have shared your feelings with is an INFP. Definitely don't worry about it, because we are Fi people not Fe people, also you just know how much we are careful about other's feelings). But sometimes These people also refer to our musings(also observe how they won't recount the details but simply say that the way we talked that night had got them worrying about us. You know why, they won't or they can't, point at a specific thing you said, because they don't actually remember what we said. This may be shocking but they will only remember us saying things that are not practical) and may express their concern for us that we are not very realistic and this world may hurt us because of our mindset. Yeah this is a toughie for us.
But in these cases i often times dismiss them by making light of the things I myself have said them (ofcourse by totally containing and not showing my hurt)
Some of the things that I usually say are
Those things I said were my daydreams
I was only telling you because you might find them amusing too. Also after talking to you they actually formed the basis for my artwork that I was working on.
And then i disappear from them, until i am done processing my internal hurt
And tell them that I am busy for a while 😂🤷
It's okay to be hurt my dear fellow infps but it's never worth it to be sorry for just being an infp.
(For those of you wondering, i am a 25 year old)

    • @DragonriderEpona
      @DragonriderEpona Год назад

🤔 I figured for myself when opening up to someone, especially when you're hurt, it's better to just have them listening and not necessarily expect them to understand you, because I personally get even more hurt when they think they understand but they clearly don't 😅😅
So it's best to find people you know how they react in certain situations and know when it is more likely that they actually understand you, and if they don't, trying not to take it too much to heart because they tried. It's hard, it takes its time but I think it's more healthy. 🙈
