Hi Alex, Great timing for your video! I had to postpone the roof hole cutting on my Transit last weekend due to bad weather, but looking to get the job done this weekend!! Mine's a bit different to you though, I have 2 2nd hand Fiamma units one with a fan and a 2nd larger one without (but I'm going to retrofit a fan to it!). I'm looking to squeeze them in between 4 planned solar panels and all on the roof of and L2 Transit! I've made wooden box frames for them to screw into and these are already fitted to the underside if the roof, by cutting back the Celotex insulation and interference fitting them in for now! All I need to do is drill the 4 corners and then cut the square. I was going to use a jigsaw though. Less dramatic than the angle grinder but feels like a good way to do it! Anyway, long way of saying thank you for a great video and feeling very inspired to crack on with my next 2 big jobs!!! Thanks, John
Good luck John. I considered using a jigsaw, but didn't want the panel to deform if it was grabbed by the blade. The grinder just slipped through quite easily as you can see. I hope yours go well!
Loving your ‘can do’ attitude!
