I have driven both (the new one was a coupe) and I think the previous is more comfortable and fiendly to drive.
I know everyone has their own opinion, but how is the old one better looking than the new one? The new one looks sleeker and cooler
The new one is brilliant but the old one is something different, its made me love it at the first sight
I prefer the older one. The exterior of the new one has obvious cost cutting design. And I hope the giant screens will be phased out within a couple years

I have a GLC coupe 2023 arriving this week, I ordered the 2022 10 months ago but they are making only 2023 now, when I saw the SUV redisign I was very excited thinking I would get that one, to be honest I have a bitter sweet feeling because the coupe version wont have the new interior until 2024 model, I think it looks amazing and more modern, But I like the exterior of the old one much better, it looks more aggressive to me, from the bigger headlights and the grill with diamond pattern, as well as the back. That is why I have a bittersweet feeling with the car that is coming hahah

New model looks not bad, just interior looks like cheap electric cars. I prefer old model, because looks more luxury.

The navigation is as fluid as my cellphone was in 2005

Like a owner of GLC 2018 coupe I am interested of 2023 model. I have checked New C class (W206) and basis that they are practically indentical on inside I could say following:
1. Lower part of dashboard, central console and Front doors are covered with cheap hard plastic in 254 model. In 253 all above is soft, covered with material same as upper part of the dash.
2. Rear doors of 254 model have more area with hard plastic than 253 model.
3. Head rests of front seats has modern design, but probably it will rattle after first year.
4. Gear selector on the wheel column on 254 model is made from cheap thin plastic, which is far away from the solid one in 253 model.
5. Mechanical means for locking doors from inside(little push knobs) are missing in 254 model. Definitely this is price cutting.
6. New Design with free standing tablets is not even near to good looking design of 253 with its intergrated instrument cluster.
7. Steering wheel in 254 model is thinner and feel not solid as it was in 253.
If the quality of interior fitting is same or worse in comparison with 253 it will be great disappointment for all owners of 254. Just to say that interior fitting in 253 is really frustrating and does not match with MB price tag.
If the tech is improved in 254 it will be good compromise - good tech for fair interior design.
Really I expected more, and have to admit that many brands, some of them even not premium have better looking and quality interior.

Why did Mercedes remove the sun shade over the gauge cluster? It does not look sporty. It looks like you are sitting in front of a computer monitor.
It's a new design language, go see it in person first. It's a change for sure
I prefer the previous version. I had the opportunity to compare both models as well and the new one feels kind of uncomfortable and not very user friendly, like those futuristic cars designed for robots. I prefer wood over plastic and soft seats over rigid ones.

On what basis would you say?
@@IvanSensei The old one had soft touch materials on the bottom trim pieces of the car, most notably on the door. The new one is all hard touch plastic.

Old one certainly looks better, especially the grill and pretty much everything else. New one looks cheaper. And also on the interior, the new steering wheel is inferior with all those capacitive controls which are not working as good as the buttons on the old one. And the lack of physical buttons on the central console is also kind of inconvenient.
I'll stick with my 2019 63s thanks. Loud and fast ☺️

This is the perfect car. It is the best-selling Mercedes model. This model has very high ratings among automotive experts around the world.
The new GLC SUV model is incomparably better than its predecessor in every respect.
I think the problem with rating this car is that the people rating it cannot afford to buy it.
Besides, it seems to me that comparing the old and the new model is completely pointless. It seems more meaningful to compare it with the competition (BMW, Audi, Volvo, Alfa etc.)

It’s worth stating that the older model in this video does not have night package installed, and the new one does.
Note that only the hybride GLC had a smaller truck size, otherwise AMGs 2019 have way more space than the new version (510 l vs only 460 l on new version). Unfortunately new GLC is not avail in pure petroleum product (no more V8.. 😢).
17:17 The headrests on the old model do move forwards and back. There is a button clearly where his hand is that enables this.
Old one looks more like an SUV the new one’s shapes are are less sporty and the interior is way more luxurious in the old one
I prefer the new one! Awesome. The old infotainment looks like it was just shoved right over the vents in a hurry. New is more luxurious, definitely. Test drove it and it kicks with excellent power.

I just received my 2022 GLC a couple of weeks ago canceled my custom order and took hold of a dealer Black on Black with AMG styling and the options I wanted. I'm glad have the older design . The new cockpit and controls looks plastic not premium at all. The ambient light seems brighter in the new one, but happy with the 2022 styling.

I prefer the older one as far as the exterior is concerned. But the interior looks better from my point of view in the new one.
I have the 2021 AMG version.
The older front end is better for highway driving, less painted surface to get bug damage/ stone chips plus it looks much better IMO.
The new interior looks good but is a fingerprint nightmare-ridiculous, we can’t have physical switches anymore, too easy.
The rear end is vastly better on the old one IMO
Like most RUclipsrs, everything new is better, just buy the new one, here everything is much more, much more, much better...

to be honest I think you're a little frustrated you bought a GLC right before the upgrade. The new one is a 100x better interior, exterior wise, driving comfort, tech, .......
Thanks for your comment! 1) First of all, congrats to your 2021 GLC! 2) If you are concerned about stone chip damage it's good to invest in the ppf. I got stone chips on my hood, if you get stone chips on upper part of the front bumper, or on the lower part, either way you need to repaint bumper. 3) In terms of design, this is individual. What looks better is very individual. Even color or spec can change a view on design as a whole. 4) New interior can actually have less black piano so "fingerprint nightmare" is reduced. As I mentioned in my full in-depth review (which will go live soon) there was a matte screen protector like thing on new portrait GLC screen, which reduces fingerprints. You can see fingerprints on the new steering wheel black piano where are capacitive buttons. Easy solution is to wipe it with cloth. 5) Like you said, I say what I mean. Nobody is paying me to say anything. 6) I never say "buy the new one". If I said it, please let me know time where I said it. I try to show the car, give my opinion, I encourage people to go and see the car for themselves in person if they find it interesting from the video, take a test drive and then everyone will decide where they want to spent their money.
Interesting, I was thinking of buying the old one, but now I see the comparsion, I like the new one much better. Both in terms of exterior and interior
I like new front and old rear.
I've been waiting almost a year for this new one to come out, and to be honest I'm getting tired of waiting. I might go with the Genesis instead of waiting even longer. That said, I really like the new one better, but the interior has too much of the "plastic" look, and i dint care fir the tilted screen. The exterior is a big improvement in my eyes.

I just found out yesterday that the 2023 MSRP for the USA model GLC 300 4MATIC SUV will have a huge price increase.
It will increase from the 2022 $45,850.00 to a ridiculous and very high $49,100.00.
Plus you have to add on top of this huge MSRP amount the destination cost of $1,150.00 (+$100 from 2022).
To summarize you will pay $50,250.00 without adding ANY one single option.
I think Mercedes has made a huge mistake in its pricing and is extremely greedy.
To summarize.... the 2023 GLC is more expensive by $3,350.00 over the 2022 GLC.......OUCH.
PLUS ..... there are unscrupulous MB dealers who want to charge us extra dealer profit over this already very high and ridiculous high MSRP. I will NEVER deal with these greedy dealers.
I think I will start looking for another car company who would love to have my business.

All new gen is usually more expensive than outgoing gen. Go and test drive it first when available and then you can make a better decision. This price increase is not even unreasonable. Don't forget inflation. If dealers charges over MSRP there is usually higher demand than stock available. It's like this in any business. If you don't wanna pay over MSRP you can always wait till more stock is available. I don't remember exactly, but here the price increase is even higher than over there.. I'd say about €8,000. New gen GLC is improved over the outgoing model so I'd say spending $3,350 more is reasonable and worth it.
