Josh P First off that sounds awesome! Yeah, the screen and specs available are just great! 😃 Glad you got one, I think you’ll enjoy it no matter what you’re planning on using it for. & No, thank you for your comment and support Josh! This is just a hobby of mine doing these unboxings, but glad that they can at least give some people a new perspective on it based on my personal experience with it. =)
Hi There ! I have the same P51 I7-7820HQ NVIDIA QUAD CODE 2200M 512 SSD. You know that P51 and P71 have a serious heating problem ? :( When the Dedicated GPU and CPU are running at teh same time, for example gaming or randering the CPU temp get too high (86-90 C) even 100C on some machines .
Noname Idontknow Hey! Thanks for you comment! Does it really?? I was not aware of this, and this is something you can't tell from just the external temperature right? I'm thinking about using the tool called "Speccy" now to monitor the temperature... So is there a solution to fix this? Also, is this a big problem?
Cappa I can't say I have experienced any overheating yet and I've been using the thing for over at least over a month and even have left it on a long time closed in sleep mode, probably like a day at the worst and it didn't feel hot at all, but who knows what the actual temperature of the thing is inside.. I still need to test the temperature with Speccy. I also tried another game on it recently for a brief time period, Cuphead, and the thing ran the game really smooth, so that's yet another game it seemingly runs well..
Cappa There is a warranty you can get with the laptop too if you order from their website for less than some websites offer so I guess if you really did have an overheating issue to the point where it broke it, then I think that would be covered under it, I hope the information helps you in some way, if you have any other questions about it please just ask.
Rob Peters Hi Rob, thank you for you comment! I would say that this could probably at least run GTA5 at moderate or low settings. I can try downloading a demo for it or something maybe and see how it does run it. Then I could let you know how the test went.
Rob Peters You are very welcome! Also, it sounds like Lenovo ThinkPad laptops from 2018 onwards have the ability to charge with USB-C connectors.. I’ll try to look further in the directions that came with my laptop to see if it says anything about USB-C too. Please have a look at this to see if it answers your question: www.anandtech.com/show/12218/lenovos-new-thinkpad-laptops-get-universal-usbc-power-adapters
iqbal mohd Hello and thank you for your comment. Looking back on it, you are right that I did focus a lot on talking about the graphics card. I'm sorry if you wanted to hear something else. Do you have a question I can perhaps answer about it? Essentially I tried to give a review talking about the components of the laptop but definitely could have gone more in depth with it...
thanks man I just bought one on Refurb with 4k screen and nice specs. Pretty psyched!
