    The backlot buildings look great, even though they are relatively plain compared to the buildings used by guests. I think the subtle differences in textures from the mix of base blocks you used for the roof and pavement work really well, and you've got enough 'non-squareness' applied to the large buildings so they don't look boring at all - great work!

    Holy crap, I just got recommended this and just from the title I knew I would be subscribing, Cedar point is so near and dear to me. I used to go 2-3 times a year without fail for over 15 years and recently had to stop cus of covid. Just seeing this made me so happy and giddy and super excited to be going back. Please keep up the great work! I would love to have my own version of cedar point in RCT one day

    Hey don't worry about the 'camera shyness' you alluded to -- if it takes multiple iterations/long delays to build things in the way you're comfortable doing it even if it's on camera .. normal fast-forward through the build process (even if it's not 'perfect') followed by a normal speed 360 pan over the finished product (maybe with some choice cutaways) would work really well in your format too!

    Improving all the time. Larger buildings are always super tough. I like to focus on the facade. And if the roof gets bland, leave it that way and go back to it later.

      Since you made this comment, I've been really trying to make my buildings facade-first and I think it's really helping! Great tip.

    Randomly recommended to me even though I haven’t watched Openrtc2 stuff in a while. I think you just hit the algorithm bud

      Yeah sometimes RUclips randomly picks a video to send into the stratosphere. I have no idea why! Anyway, welcome!

    This would probably be REALLY difficult, but it would be cool to do versions of the park from different eras (like a 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, etc). I always love seeing pictures/footage of cedar point over the years to see how it's evolved.

    • @fidwell
      @fidwell  2 года назад +1

      Yeah that would be a ton of fun! But also incredibly difficult as you say haha. The farther back you go, the tougher it is to find photos. I barely remember how the park looked even in the '90s when I went every year.

    That back lot has a truck loading dock on the middle bldg which is where they store games prizes (FedEx driver speeding about this btw) it's very plain back there and it's always tight with parked cars

      There is also a parking security gate at the backstage to parking lot interface that sits directly below gatekeeper track

    To make the parking lots easier use block breaks in the parking spaces. This automatically spawns the cars on the spaces then you can just micro adjust some to remove the grid look.

    • @fidwell
      @fidwell  2 года назад +1

      Every time I try it they always spawn way off the brake, or something else goes wrong... Maybe I'm just bad at it. I'll have plenty more opportunity to practice when I do the real parking lot I guess!

    When do you plan on recording another stroll through the park?

      I haven't made any plans yet, but since you asked, I think I'll do another one in a few more episodes maybe!

    One of these times can you click on your rides icon? With so many manual builds in place for custom stations/ground rides I feel like it has to be in the thousands

      Okay I was finally able to check for real-267 rides, 72 shops/stalls, and 20 restrooms/info kiosks. Not as many as I thought, except restaurants-there are a ton and I'm maybe only halfway done putting them all in!
