Great question; at the time of this taping, we had already been using the 812 with...wait for it...Sopra 2’s! The blend was seamless (our amps were a bit more muscular (Levinson No. 585)). I see it well paired with the Musical Fidelity, but the Prima Luna has a smoother sound overall - Bes Nievera/Music Direct/Brand Ambassador
Thanks for this video. I’m a Revel Salon2 owner and I see that you sell Revels. In your opinion, would the REL S/510 or the S/812 match best with the Salon2’s?
We have the Salon 2 in our listening room now; depending on your room’s measurements, and how it’s placed, either sub is appropriate. The 812 has a deeper bass footprint, while the 512 has the potential for a tighter sound. @@JoBiatch. I’ve got an S/812 with my main setup. I’m aiming to, first, add another REL to that system. Trouble is that I’m going to have to do some heavy negotiations to add another sub to our living room. The first one caused quite a prolonged ‘discussion’. Yes, my main system consists of Revel Ultima Salon2. Those things, plus the 812 take up a good bit or real estate. For a year, the Salons were fine where they were- then they weren’t. The problem is that I’ve nowhere else to move them. I’ve been asked to move them to the dining room but who wants to listen to music from 20 feet away and from behind them!
