Thank you for the video, it's really becoming clear that mental health and loneliness are a pandemic in our generation (think between 20 and 30 y/o). I don't really follow that much vtubers but it's amazing the amount of damage that people are willing to exert on others they don't even know (I know, they think they know, parasocial relationships and what not)
Ayyyy Rima, this video is suddenly highlighted and shared again lol. In light of the current expose of Mafu and the magazine/blog post. Lol as Ant-Hime said: "japanese Amber Heard"
I think that new model debut shows how she still couldn't get past her Hololive incident after all, she didn't wanted to be Nazuna nor Mikeneko, she just wanted to be Rushia... quite sad actually.
I don't think it's sad. It's kind of boss actually that she found a way to legally take her original look back. Millions of people grew to know her by that original Rushia look, and it does have kind of an uncanny feeling to have their original model change, regardless of the circumstance. She's seemingly happy. Hundreds of thousands of her fans are happy. I don't see the problem~
@@Shieldclock I'm not sure if she's happier, that's the main problem... she keeps getting into those dramas involving the same group of fans over and over again, I'm sure it's stressful and doesn't seem like she's improving on that aspect at all.
Ya hololive provided a lot of great career opportunities, a great network, and a community that she can’t get from Vshojo, not to the same success anyway.
@@realQuestion You mean Yasuyuki? She got paid to draw the new model, it's just a job for her, and all rights of the Rushia models are 100% owned by Cover.
Context: She was supposed to join a big Apex tournament and already had a team. They announced the team on Twitter after the organizer gave them permission for it. After that, at 2 AM, they told the team they had to replace Mikeneko, but her other two teammates refused to play, and they pulled out of the event with the coach. To this day, they never gave a reason for kicking her out, but the most likely scenario is that some Holostar talent was supposed to attend the event, and the organizer didn't want them to pull out and chose the easy solution. She was depressed about this whole thing and doesn't understand why people treat her like a criminal. (IIRC: Kson had this problem and couldn't join big Japanese streamer servers or events because if she is there, then most likely Nijisanji and Hololive talents won't show up. But I don't really follow Kson that closely. A Kson fan could give more info on this.) The comments are basically making fun of her and calling her a "curse" and other nasty stuff. There was some other stuff, like some fans not liking her attending the event with male streamers, but I feel like people are over-exaggerating that part of the story.
@@JohnSmith-hm8xl Kson is a lot freer because she got proper graduation and the main reason wasn't her fault. She's in the new yakuza game and holomems are ok to show it ,Miko mentioned Kson in her stream before , if the company has relation with china(like Nijisanji) ,they won't be allowed to show her face or be in the same event. For Mikeneko ,she got terminated for doing very big oppsies ,I think she purposely made her new model looks like Rushia (to be related with hololive) ,ppl got terminated for breaching contact always lay low for a long time or even quit vtuber activity ,but her fanbase is too stong that makes her think everything is still ok.
@@rimaevenstar I remember her saying something at one point like, "The only reason I'm still alive is because of my parents" shortly before she decided to attempt skydiving without a parachute. :( I'm also afraid that if it gets too bad for Rushia that she may attempt the same thing. The self deleting situation in Japan is pretty bad among the entire young population. So I'm legitimately worried for both of them. People need to stop giving these girls such horrendous vibes.
Extra note, Cover defended the private lives of their talents by respecting their boundaries. So they really had the intent to keep Rushia on their roster (whether for her well being or because she is lucrative we can't say) but unfortunately they were forced to terminate her contract.
They made that statement roughly a couple of days Before she leaked the information. But unfortunately it was a bit too late into the whole "Leaked discord message" drama had already started.
@@questingbear the information she shared with the Gossip channel, as far as I know, was communication between her and manager(s) that she hoped would proof her relationship with Mafu Mafu wasn't beyond a friendship. She didn't stole trade secrets or any businesses insider information.

By the way, this all change when Rushia's older brother moved out... At first I thought it's just a meme of her being an extreme brocon. But after watching her streams again and comparing them, the change before and after her brother moved out is soo obvious as she double down on parasitism and GFE on her fans as if she's compensating on something she lost IRL. As if the person that keeping her sanity in check just disappeared then her menhera character became a reality.
@@akira8393 she and her other holomems described her in past streams as extreme brocon. Rushia herself said many times where her brother was quite a pretty boy and popular that most of her school friends that visited her house would only visit because they wanted to see her older brother which she doesn't like and stopped inviting them after that. She would act clingy and jealous when she sees other girls fawning for him. I thought at first this was just a joke and meme but realize it wasn't after her older brother moved out. She was quite wholesome, funny and very entertaining before she announced that her brother moved out, after that, she became extreme in her GFE ASMR streams that I stopped watching because it's too creepy with her chat and herself. Watch her past streams then compare and you will know.

I don't know why, but this feels like myself sitting through a social studies class by myself just listening to you Rima. It's almost as though I am learning or reviewing history notes more so than watching a drama episode unfold.
@@rimaevenstar I wish I had the same amount of commitment putting together my gaming chronicles as you with these VTuber analysis videos. You did well with these and I hope you had fun putting these together.
It certainly recolors her response to the Mafumafu message given that she was indeed in a relationship with him and trying to convince the fans it wasn't true.
also aparently she had contacted korekore several times before, with several complaints about her coworkers and the company, it would make more sense that those were the reason for termination
Asmongold said it best, is like watching someone smoke and they eventually get lung cancer. You feel bad for em, but you can see it coming from miles away. People didnt called it "business that prey on vulnerable man" for nothing.
Destroying herself? I believe it's the anti-fans and fans who won't allow her to pursue her desires. You are attached to 2D pixels, caring for her solely because you perceive her as an object to be manipulated. You are just a few. How can you define someone's happiness? Do you know what's happening in her mind? You all persist in forcing your opinions. This is why I hate the vtuber community. You will never get a vtubers love and it will never happened @@akira8393
She's also obnoxiously loud, idk how tf do people like watching her screaming and raging like a 10 year old roblox kid constantly failing on the game they're obviously bad at. Being a "cute anime girl" doesn't pass her for being obnoxious
I feel like she gave up the Amemiya Nazuna persona because she couldn't appeal into the gachikoi audience nearly as much. VShojo as an agency offers a lot of freedom but also protection from the gachikoi. I feel like she wants the best of both worlds. She wants the popularity that the gachikoi audience produces, but she wants to be able to play games how she wants with whoever she wants. Because she can't decide, she's running into these ongoing issues.
I feel that they should have let her stream on youtube, to help her regain her followers back, Vshojo JP is pretty underwhelming as of late (not sure if henya is JP or EN).
I mean it's hard to not want to do your own channel in general as opposed to working for a company. Plus most in vshoujo speak English and not everyone is an extrovert type. I'd say any other jp vtuber would do the same.
@@Melcor2304 Henya lives in Japan and it's her native language and she typically speaks in both but I think the majority of her audience is EN. The comments are definitely like 95% or more EN.
I know I'm responding to a day old message but Vshojo and Gunrun hiself have said multiple times that while they encourage their talent to stream on Twitch, ANY talent is allowed to stream on any other platform. Their is easy proof of this as Kson frequently jumps between Twitch and YT.@@Melcor2304
Yeah, because 2 fan bases having a completely unhinged melt down over a unclear discord message is totally normal and fine. Japans "Idol Culture" and Vtubing fan base really make me sick sometimes. And no I will not stop watching I want to see change.
I like that you were able to sum everything up in a way that was very respectful of all involved, and looking at the drama as just that: drama. This is all well-done. Good work.
I liked Rushia and her transition to Nazuna, but her catering to gachikoi with GFE is playing with fire. We can clearly see what happens when you lose control of that fire. Turning Mikeneko into Rushia 2.0 is just a clear sign that she cannot let go of the past. By doing so, we may see a repeat of the same incident that cost her Rushia.
The worst thing she did was blabbed NDA thing to a FREAKIN' gossip youtuber friend, extreme no-no~ I guess she won't blabbed anything NDA things now since she's half indie~ ...right~?
She keeps doing same mistakes. Who knows, crazy or just farms drama for $$$. I remember her crazy gfe fans turned against her again recently. You cater to toxic fans, you get toxicity.
The biggest issue Rushia has, other than possible mental health/emotional issues, is that she keeps making the same damn mistakes over and over. She needs to decide the type of community she wants and stick to it. She would honestly do better mentally and emotionally if she moved away from the gachikois. Not to mention she could have a lot more freedom in what she can do and who she can interact with.
Being a Vtuber is the same as being a internet celebrity, the weird thing is they get a lot of overpriced donations for speaking behind an animated stock image but reallife celebs dont.
This ^^^ this is the key point that has led me to believe that she really is like Rushia and its not just a persona, and with that that its been made apparent that she really can’t handle internet culture and the way her fanbase has spiraled out of control. I think she genuinely needs help, needs to step away from the internet and content creation, and separate herself from the abusive feed ack loop she has put herself in. She LOVES the attention she gets when it’s positive, but then she “steps out of line”, the gachikois explode, she has a meltdown back at them, and then both sides just concede and do it again after being angry for a few days. And now because of this infamous reputation she has, situations like the apex colab happen where no one has done anything wrong, just by mikeneko being involved a situation happens and she has a complete meltdown. Whats being done to her in these cases aren’t necessarily _fair_ , but with her reactions she reinforces that these exclusionary and biased opinions are in fact correct and the right move, that people should “steer clear” of her least they get involved in drama. She just needs to stop, step back, and give it up for a while if not forever honestly. Its not healthy for anyone involved, especially her
Rushia seems like the type of person to attract drama no matter the environment. Yeah, a lot of vtubers have had some periods of controversy, but she's just been incapable of just stepping away from any of it when it happens. Being a semi anonymous public figure she has the option to get away from it all for a week, and touch grass, go out to the country, wherever.
Hey Rima, that was an excellent piece. I remember being there for this from the moment it happened live on the stream with Miko all the way to the recent Apex Team issue under her current moniker. One thing that stuck out for me is your acknowledgment of the loneliness epidemic that has swept through the male population over the past 4-5 years (arguably even longer). I have seen and heard horror stories from people around me going through it. There is no doubt that it has led to creation of individuals that will grasp at the slightest form of contact in the hopes that it will develop into something more. In the case of v-tubing it can develop into a para-social relationships. It is a sad situation indeed and they need help, no human is made to be alone.
I feel bad for her because the fans she had were genuinely insane. It sucks but she also shouldn't continue catering to these creeps and make her boundaries clear to anyone who tries to obsess over her Vtubers
No need to feel bad. This fanbase was intentionally cultivated and exploited for financial gain. The same mistakes are repeated again and again, nothing learned from the past. She deserves all that happens to her.
I love Rushia and it sucks to say but after what happened with Hololive i really hoped she'd give up the whole "you're not cheating on me right?," routine. These people that have parasocial issues fall for that the most. Also Hololive's first tweet about this was to say they would support Rushia if she was in a relationship. Later after Rushia broke her NDA MaufuMaufu came out and throw Rushia under the bus to save his ass from his own fans. Its safe to say that combined with antis, parasoical hololive fans and Maufu's equally parasocial freaks all dogpiled Rushia it broke her. But shes back doing the same yandere persona and i just cant watch her anymore.
That’s why I highly respect fauna, she also play the whole “mommy” trope but she wasn’t afraid to give the saplings the “talk” and set boundaries that’s how you responsibly handle your fanbase.
I think it's okay that she does that (or rather, I think it's okay that each Holomem decides their own routine with their respective fanbase). It's just that if you really want to portray your fans as your husbands, you need to put 100 into Sneak on the internet and also have the emotional capacity to not share crucial information with some rando on an impulse.. Nene and Polka, for example, they DO do the husband thing but that really hasn't been a problem for them. Heck, I remember there being a comment from one of the JP guys and it was something like "We don't care that you have a boyfriend, we just don't want to ever have to hear about it."
@@paulsitt 1. I agree on the crucial information part. 2. It sure sounds like he cared I for one wouldn’t mind if a Vtuber did the wholesome husband or boyfriend or wife girlfriend thing and told us they had on in real life I’d be happy for them now what wasn’t happy if her disparaging them for not giving enough money that’s horrible because might giving all they can.
It’s honestly pretty funny how even if you didn’t know about Korekores existence the moment he gets described as “Japanese Keemstar” you already know everything this guy
people are beyond delusional to believe that the person behind the idol/vtuber facade can't have a personal life of their own not to mention be in a relationship with someone else. thats hella suffocating and toxic.
Indeed brother, but they exist and it can't really be helped. Then she goes out of her way to explicitly target that sort of audience with her menhera GFE persona.
Its the other way around. Russhia is the one who goes direct for GFE. With that, she groomed some fans to act as a surrugate for her true obsession. She has a mental problem where she is VERY dependendent with her older brother in an incestuous way and she's projecting it through her streams. All the JP members also know Russhia's extreme brocon.
@@FantasiephilosophRaku I would agree but in Rushias case she really is SPECIFICALLY targeting that audience. Selling wedding ring merch and making GFE content.
Rushia was literally exploiting that audience, what kinda dumb narrative are you pushing? Exploit the mentally ill long enough and they'll lash out when things don't go their way. She keeps doing it too, she'll never learn.
You're hitting the nail on so many things. For me, The GFE / BFE is a dangerous way of life, even moreso than Japanese idols. They're taking advantage of the same people that would be abusive in relationships but simply don't have one in real life, they go to Rushia. On one hand, she had it coming. On another, goddamn do I wish abusive behavior can be stopped. I'm very torn between saying that she deserves it or not. It's a very tough topic to conclude on because at the end of the day, Rushia / Mikeneko / Vox is to them... where they go to seek help...
yeah pretty much. when you literally have no where place to be that's where they became desperate. outside of vtubing there's a group of people using gurus as a way to prey the same way vtubing does. Vtubing with its design is really just a mask that act as a roleplay as well as expressing the one thing we cant by showing our faces. There's a reason why people do see it as products and some do not. it creates the linger area like kpop stars where it's real fictional people.
This is a really great, non bias video on Rushia. I've been a fan of Rushia (and VTubers in general) is for the personality and character side but I know that the boyfriend/girlfriend aspect is a very important for some people so I can't really ignore that part of the discussion but I feel like people can take it too far to the point that I think it is a problem though of course, as much as I do like Rushia/Mikeneko/Nazuna, she does make mistakes that still even haunt her even to this day. Also, when it comes to the drama with Delutaya, I think it really sucks that it even happened in the first place considering both there backgrounds and I think in another life, if they both stayed in Hololive, I am sure they probably would of been good friends but who knows. Regardless of everything, I do hope for the best for Rushia/Mikeneko/Nazuna and also Delutaya.
Great vid, I've been checking Vtubers for a couple years, and my dark view on it is a lots of people seem to forget that vtuber is simply for intertaining, and also basically mean every drama could be faked, manipulated, only to provide more support to the character. Its pretty obvious in big companies as no matter how bad it goes, they can simply throw the character away and get a new one, meanwhile the supports comes in, some fans get upsets and stop supporting sure, but many others becoming parasocial in a very unhealthy way spend even more money, especially JP audience. In some way, it can become as bad as gambling addiction, it's sad to see how vtubing kind of changed over the years because of how much money it can create.
This was an incredibly informative and well done video. It also covers very relevant topics, especially with the rise vtubers still continuing. Amazing work Rima! I'm glad youtube recommended me your video. I learned a lot from it. Thank you!

@@Beeawoooshe has two persona , one is Nazuna and two is Mikeneko her org persona , recently Mikeneko joined voice ore I think , and got new model which is also the same artist tht maked Rushia model
It's a bad situation for everybody. On the one hand, the gachi fans are not in any shape or form entitled to act like that, but on the other hand, Michael actually encourages them to act like that, not only on a regular basis, but also across different personas, but then again there's nothing wrong with that as long as everybody understood that it's just an act... Anyway, I feel bad for Pekora. I've seen her talk about her several times and she still always calls her Ru-chan, in a close way, and she always sounds sad when talking about her. 😢
Thank you for telling me a story about this Rushia madness I start to get attached to mikeneko a few months ago and start to feel sympathy to her about this but im kinda "need to know first" so im start digging the story of this drama. Even years passed the heat from the drama is still have not leave yet. I even asked in that post to clarify and tell me from A to Z about this drama because all of the comment in that post commented with anger and sympathy making a future reader blurred by those feeling. And even i asked in that post few years later, the anger never disappear. Now watching you tell about this drama with calm and with detail makes me understand about this drama. Again, thank you for this video
I've been reluctant to see how this one goes, but as expected, it seems like it's no ones fault and yet everyone's fault at the same time. You also tackled and researched the societal problem regarding the bubble of this kind of content creation, it became a study case which is a good refreshing infotainment. Well done!
Tysm! This is always what im aiming got as its what interests me the most about these topics. I could have done a full video on the conclusion alone ngl. We cut down half of it in post :p Great animations btw! 👍💜
I think the hardest thing of watching Rushia's termination happen in real time was the reaction from the Japanese side of Hololive fans vs the Western side of the fans when it came out Rushia broke NDA. We will never know what exactly Rushia did to break NDA, it could have been the leaks to the drama channel, or it could have been far more serious stuff they found when investigating her account after the company checked it after the Mafumafu incident. We will never truely know, but NDA's are serious and breaking them leads to lawsuits - especially in Japan when they take breaches of contract a lot more seriously. Western Fans couldn't get their head around the fact that Hololive wouldn't let the NDA breaking slide since Rushia was their top superchatter and a week prior had released a statement in support of her. While the Japanese fans turned on Rushia very quickly and didn't take into considering the fact Rushia was a person who needed support. Ultimately Hololive wasn't in the wrong for terminating the contract for a NDA breech - as someone who has signed those in the past, 9/10 times it will be there to protect sensitive information, company and employment details. NDA's aren't just their to stop projects leaking. Especially in the Vtuber world where identities are kept secret, they would take any breakage of NDA's ultra seriously
Cover terminate whole CN branch and lost a whole market to save Coco, Rushia did not only break the NDA with the drama channel fiasco, also it turn out she gave the top spender A special treatment like sending em private video or dm acting like their gf etc
Seems you're one of the one who can't wrap their head around it either. I'm sad for Rushia's initial harassment by antis, but she also turned on a bunch of her own coworkers and ratted out many secrets to the Japanese drama channels. She quite literally committed a large betrayal of trust not just legally, but to her own friends.

Thank you for covering her whole Story and showing, once again, that these Parasocial relationships are just crazy. Some People should take there Superchat Money and Invest it in a good psychiatrist.
I think it's interesting to complain and contrast Rushia's termination with Towa's male voice "scandal". While Towa didn't cultivate a BFE, it was still early enough in Hololive that she was still expected to be "pure and available" like a traditional idol. When a male voice was heard on her Apex stream (it's not clear if it was game VC or someone in her house) she did the exact opposite of Rushia. She took a break for a week to let the situation cool off and quietly took solace in her supportive fans rather than try to chase those who left. While her early growth took a hit, by not overreacting and making the situation worse, she essentially weeded out the bad apples from her fanbase, and now is highly successful while being able to interact with anyone she wants. She even has 4 men as guest singers on her soon to debut album. If Rushia had not gone the drama channel and just taken the hit, would she have been able to walk the same path? Sure, she might have lost several thousand subs, but many many would have stayed. She'd be free to engage with male friends openly, new doors for creative projects would have opened, and she'd still likely be in Hololive. But of course, that hinges on other actions too. The wording of Hololive's statement seems to suggest that Rushia was a gossiper and this wasn't the only instance of a NDA breach. In particular, I remember a rumor I was never able to verify that she had leaked some personal information of another Hololive member she didn't like to a drama channel because said member (I think it was implied to be Aqua) often streamed in the same time slot. I would have just assumed that rumor was no more than such, but after the drama she tried to pull with Delu I have to consider that it's very plausible, and the termination was likely very justified. Remember people, honor any NDA you sign and don't slander your coworkers in written form no matter how big a beef you have with them.
I mean... Doing that sort of thing is standing in a minefield. And its like Rushia decided to run through it instead of getting in an MRAP. But tis a tale as old as time: an influencer handles a controversy poorly and causes a massive tailspin.
I find that especially likely based on the reactions of other members like Fubuki, like usually the other holomembers are all very emotional when other talents leave but Fubuki was cold like I have never seen her which suggests that there must have happened something to turn the girls agaisnt Rushia after the details came out. So Rushia leaking personal stuff about other Holomembers is mostl likely true.
Before I watch (and knowing what it was during that time); Im glad her soul has been reincarnated and she seems much like a happier person. I still miss her as a character, but very much those memories are still archived on clips. Thanks for covering this topic Edit: Yeah, fans (despite how crazy they can be), still need to respect boundaries of the talents over their own personal (and very often selfish) desires. But I guess that type of decency is hard to ask for over the internet.
I never really followed the big vtubers but enjoy watching your videos on them, as I feel the lessons can be applied to smaller vtubers and communities as well.. thanks for the video!
Moral of the story; don't create parasocial relationships. As someone who was in a parasocial relationship all I can say is it's worse than watching porn.
A couple of inaccuracies here. (13:21) Her birthday merch was not cancelled, refunds were offered. The merch was still produced, and if you wanted it you still got it. However, the option was given, to those fans who no longer wanted it due to the recent events, to get their money back. This is not the first time I see this misconception; from can I can gather, it steems from the fact that there was a limited "handwritten autographed card" version of the pack that had to be cancelled, (because Rushia was no longer there to autograph the cards), but those who had purchased it were offered refunds or to switch to the standard version, which was still produced. (15:31) Mikeneko did debut her second model on January 2023 - however, the Rushia-like model is her fourth, and it was debuted on July 2023, so half a year later, only a month before the Apex drama.
"It's easy to blame the gachikois, but remember they're human." So is everyone, and the rest of us humans can separate fantasy from reality, don't think someone we've never met owes us their abstinence, and wouldn't harass a person like this. Having empathy for other people is great, and trying to understand their circumstances and the difficulties that may have lead them to acting this way is admirable- but it doesn't change what they've done. At a certain point trying to be tolerant of those who hurt others becomes negligence and perpetuates their despicable behavior.
"So is everyone, and the rest of us humans can separate fantasy from reality, don't think someone we've never met owes us their abstinence, and wouldn't harass a person like this." Not if you're socially stunted/mentally ill enough to be a "gachikoi" in the first place. You're making implicit demands from people who don't have the capacities for what you're describing, and whose oshi either *knows* they don't have the capacity for those things-- or is themselves finding the same kind of validation from them that they find in her. Everyone's still responsible for their actions, but one has to acknowledge what kind of people we're dealing with in the first place.
exactly and that is why i say, Screw GFE streamers, they deserve everythign they get. they know what thye are doing when trying to squeeze money from the mentally ill and unstable.
Hoo boy... This is going to need an update. And if you're reading this, you already know why. I never thought Mikeneko/Rushia would compete with Riro Ron to a race to the bottom.
Loved the video! Really helped me understand Ruschia's whole arc better. Though its weird seeing so little coverage of her time as Nazuna since thats the persona I associate with most. To that end one aspect of this whole thing that seems....concerning? Is that Nazuna seems to be actively avoiding doing any collabs with other Vshojo members outside of Kson. I can kind of understand why, butb I think it would do her a LOT of good if she tried to become friend with Henya, Mousey and the rest of the gang, language barrier be damned.
For someone who avoided the other members because of the language barrier, she has still for some reason yet to even speak to Henya on stream, several months later. The fact that she has already renamed her Minecraft account to NOT be Nazuna tells you what the chances are of her ever hanging out with the other VShojos on their server.
honestly at the rate things are going I would bet on Nazuna leaving Vshojo as soon as her contract allows, assuming thats its all thats stopping her.@@forklauncher
@@Lostbymydreams Could happen, though I imagine she enjoys the Nazuna merch sales, and it's not like VShojo gives her a stream quota, so she can be the second Hime.
13:27 btw the merch was not cancelled. The order was even extended for a couple weeks, and mine arrived at October 2022. It was late, and I think it was not related to hee graduation either.
Pretty sure Rushia’s birthday merch wasn’t cancelled but people can claim a refund if they didnt want it anymore (since she is terminated). I am also pretty sure membership stayed up until end of March where everything got privated.
Wouldn't say that she deserved it, but like a lot of other people said she had it coming. It's like knowing how to drive a car but not knowing the driving norms and rules, she doesn't have the emotional and psychological maturity to handle and maintain this GFE persona she tries to put up to garner attention. Truth is she definitely has some mental issues left unchecked. She's needy, helpless, emotionally fragile, psychologically immature for her age and honestly too reckless for her own good, and she's scared of all of this. There needs to be someone to tell her this to her face, then teach her how to handle life itself and escape this fantasy. She's playing with fire because that's the only thing that brings her warmth.
@@FantasiephilosophRaku I don't have a degree in psychology (as much as I wish i did) and I barely watched her streams (mostly her clips), but doesn't take much for anyone to say this whole GFE thing is weird. What's the reason she'd do this? She has more than enough money from, even if she didn't do this GFE she'd still rack a reasonable amount of money so that rules it out. She didn't knew how to handle her mafu situation because she had her own personal feelings for him (which is understandable even if that was the trigger for the whole drama), she never told anyone about sending PMs to her fans which was already going against her contract, or giving her gossip RUclipsr friend details of Cover contracts and employees which backfired because he revealed everything she told him on stream and Cover found out about her leaking information. It all came crashing down on her, her contract was terminated and she was effectively fired from doing anymore streams or announcements, none of her friends could give her a proper goodbye, all her gachikoi fans turned against her because of mafumafu's situation, all her antis got support into destroying her everything, and she essentially became blacklisted in the vtuber community for being a "cursed vtuber". Rather than consulting someone close to her for help dealing with legal action or helping her make a course of action for a new job or just a friend to help comfort her, she went to her private account and started bawling her eyes out for her viewers. This whole problem started with her garnering the attention of gachikoi fans because of this GFE, and now that she got her life together as mikeneko she started doing GFE content again. She didn't learn anything from this whole situation, she avoided everything and honestly she only got accepted into VShojo because she was a selling chip for them, a rare and popular gem that could sell for thousands if they hired her, otherwise she'd either be crying for her fans as mikeneko or worse. That brings me to the only answer. She's dependent on validation, she's constantly trying to get attention from her viewers because she feels like she NEEDS it and that's unhealthy as it is, but her coping mechanism is that she uses her GFE content to make sure her viewers stay loyal to her because now they need her also, it becomes a co-parasitic relationship. It's a toxic, unhealthy relationship and bound to fail sooner or later. She's childish, traumatized and chronically lonely, and unless she stops appeasing to these gachikoi fans and gets her stuff together like the other hologirls the chances of another drama happening are high, and I don't think she'll be able to handle this again. I say all this but I do want her to get better, she's cute, her clips are funny, she has that whole moe aesthetic going on, i'd watch her if I had the time. She might've made a ton of mistakes but she's not a bad person at all, she just had a ton of bad luck and is going through a tough time not knowing how to deal with any of it.
I recently got a mild interest in two hololive vtubers, and suddenly my whole youtube is plastered with everyone. I heard bits and bobs about Rushia before -- obviously way before I let my guard down and still thought they were a mostly benign, but hearing her crying her eyes out on her original alt channel shortly after she got the boot from hololive is actually really sad. It's unfortunate that the fanbase she so meticulously cultivated was the same kind that would make the biggest waves when controversy raises its head. I don't think I'm capable of actually loving a pretend anime character and donating to them feels about just as far away, but I'll be damned if I don't understand the positive feelings you can get from them especially when the world is so just weird these days. The smiles I get when watching Korone or Hakos Baelz's livestreams aren't nothin. I wish everyone trying to survive in that industry the best.
Vtubing is showing both how profitable and how dangerous parasocial relationships can be. The gatchikois will send huge amounts of money on their virtual girlfriend experience but they will turn dangerously aggressive when they feel betrayed by their parasocial partner. If you keep feeding a fire don't be surprised when it burns you.
@Potatotenkopf not to the same degree. The fact that it is ostensibly an anime character and not an actual flesh and blood person on screen seams to encourage a level of parasocial role-play that I've never observed with live streamers. The anger and aggression parasocial fans show when the vtuber does or says something out of character or refers to their real life is unique to vtubing as far as I know. Anything that breaks their immersion into the parasocial fantasy, no matter how small or natural it is, is met with insults, slurs, threats and actual harm like doxxing the vtuber or swatting them at their real home. Upset fans have also reported vtubers who broke character to the police for everything from drug use to actual human trafficking. It seems unreal that any fandom could have that strong of a reaction to a streamer with a cartoon avatar, but here we are.
@@Scudboy17 I mean nobody likes a vtuber because they're well drawn or well animated, they typically get fans because of their personalities which are made by the, "actress/actor" behind the model, I also think all the emotional charge behind vtuber fans that leads them to do crazy stuff for their waifus isn't the vtuber model but the fact that people who flock to anime and cartoons are typically on some hardcore escapism and rely on it for their mental stability so if it gets attacked they go nuts, way more than a twitch fan would but they have also gotten that bad at times.
Thank you for the video - it was very interesting and educational to watch❤ I'm not in the position of judging Rushia or gachikoi fanbase, and I think, both sides here are victims of high expectations fueled by delusion of parasocial relationships. The actress fell into the trap set by her own virtual character twice, hope she will be good in the future and figure out how to deal with drama. Gachikois set high expectations based on amount of their donations and were broken by reality. Both side stories are just sad and they all deserve better in life
I had completely forgotten about rushias graduation and I’ve been following hololive at least the English branch for years thanks for helping me catch up maybe it’s me growing older but it’s disheartening seeing these extremely talented and successful people clinging to this bit of paradise they have so much they hurt themselves and people around them forgetting real life exists specifically when rushia reached out to another youtuber for help as if her youtube channel was all she was not the real person behind her avatar who would theoretically reach out to other real people not youtube channels
EVERYTIME Cover corp or it's talent is put into a controversy/drama, i will look at Fubuki at how she reacts. Since she's still in Hololive and going strong. I will believe in Cover.
Excellent vid, as much for the history of Rushia (I learned a lot, I only knew her from her collabs with Calli) as for the commentary at the end. Glad i found your channel
I wonder if this is also the reason why Delutaya stepped away from the pc for a while. Being stressed out and falling back to her former self. By this I mean her time as Mano Aloe, being terrified by all the harresment she endured. Delu also already stated that she already jumped once before (yes, in order to unalive herself) yet landed in the trees below. Delu was heavily injured, but survived. I don't get this on why they would go for eachother's throat over rumours Delu heard from her management. They both used to be with Hololive together, differend gens, but still. I am also hesitant to ask Delu on how she's doing, not wanting to stress her out even further. I'm just not sure if she would fall back again to the point she would want to end it all again.
@@FantasiephilosophRaku It's rough, as fans you want to both support them, yet don't want to push them into stuff they don't want. It sucks that you want to be there, ask how Delu is doing, yet have to give her space so she comes back on their own. Well at least real fans, there are offcourse those "fans" that think the talents own them something when they wave a 50 dollar bill arround.

Kinda sad on how bad she has beome lately. She is mentally unstable, always attracting drama but never capable of handling them properly. Constantly changing models, even tried to have another identity but gave up, and then keep changing models until she get something that similar up to 90% with Rushia. I feel like she just want to do whatever she want but still scared of how her viewers think of her, thus constantly making mistake but incapable to fix it right on time. Maybe she just care about the money more than anything, considering on the fact that I just randomly click on her stream on two different times and she mentioned about lacking money? Just my own opinions, but after leaving Cover, she lost her commitment and stability. Because Rushia is one hell of solid war that capable to carry her for a long time, she literally on top 1 or 2 donation of Hololive. Maybe the fact that she send voice record or random stuffs to her donators contributed to this numbers. But anyway, now that she lost Rushia, the girl really struggling and making more unwanted dramas. I feel like she just can't adapt to the new enviroments, keep trying to change, and then she find out that she can't get over "Rushia", that's why the new model is literally 90% Rushia.
I feel like the rushia/miko story is the price to pay when you play as a parasocal vtuber sure you get all the fame and money look at Vox now and rushia in 2022 leading in superchats. But it can be mentally destroying and when you talk or when you in the same room with someone with the opposite sex and your fans know you get attacked. Also this is not me defending the people who attacked rushia I can say tons of negative things about them but let's be real if you build your character and do streams being the GF or BF and you talk to a opposite sex member or do an off collab with the opposite sex you will get tons of hate comments and death threats. Like say for example vox did an off collab with reimu or nijisanji female member would we be surprised if he gets hate comments for that. I hope rushia/miko takes her a long break and gets the help she needs and hope future vtubers who do play the GF or BF persona don't suffer the way she did.
@rimaevenstar The thing is that not all vtubers have a problem with Gachikois. Does it exist in many of their fandoms? Yes but to what intensity is up to the vtuber themselves. If you're going to go down the route that Rushia and others like her are going, you're going to foster a larger group of them. Not all vtubers release merch that have them in wedding dresses and engagement rings. Rushia put herself up on that pedestal and when you slip up and the veil comes crashing down, you being on that pedestal just makes you an easy target. Also, I don't know if this was true or not but I heard Rushia actively stalked her recurring high paying gachikois on social media and urged them to donate more and sent them personalized gifts beyond Cover's consent. I don't know if any of that is true but if it was, that's just another thing that streamers like her do to foster this kind of toxic fandom
@@rimaevenstar well the first thing to do is to stop mimicking the vtuber culture similar to hololive or nijisanji at this point. cultivating the vtuber culture around the idol aspects of it is not really helping at all, and i dont think its stopping anytime soon since even indies have debuts and pretty much the same style like any agency
Something kinda similar did happen with Vox and Reimu,. I think she was streaming one of the FNAF games and she called Vox for help, interrupting an asmr stream he was doing. Reimu got a lot of hate from his fans and Vox had to tell them to knock it off. This happened almost a year ago so I might've gotten some things wrong.
Kinda glad my brain's wiring is borked in such a way that GFE just _does not work_ for me. I have a mental switch that I can't turn off that is constantly telling me 'this is not real, you do not know her, she does not know you, and you're sitting in a YT chat with thousands of other people'. Probably for the best, tbh.
Looking back to this video, she was terminated because of the leaked relation with mafumafu, now she was exposed to been married to mafumafu, made the whole thing a clusterfuck
I'm so glad I never got that invested into Vtubing culture outside of 1 Vtuber until the last year. With all the drama that goes on it's very tiring. There are so many idiots that act entitled when it comes to a Vtuber and it's sickening. Yes I know done Vtubers and streamers personally, but even that doesn't entitle me to expectations of them. I'm happy when they are happy, sad when they are sad, and don't give a crap if they decide to stream with whoever they want. It's their life and I'd rather see them happy than miserable just to try to appease stupid people. People in the world outside of Japan need to grow up and get this mentality out of their heads. I understand Japan has this culture and they were raised like that, but they still need to reign it in. The number of times people bash on Vtubers over stupid and imaginary stuff is sickening. Grow up!
It definitely feels the standards for vtubers are getting out of hands and seem much higher then other content creators. And We already hold content creators too very high standards
Nobody forces a vtuber to do GFE content. Doing it comes with the expectation of keeping a veil of anonymity and not getting caught mingling with guys. There's a reason lots of vtubers and corporations are trying to cater to this audience - they have money and it's easy to part them with it as aptly proven by Rushias very successful run. Why is it wrong for the audience to hold their vtuber to the standard that they are lead to expect? These vtubers are selling GFE which comes with certain expectations and when they fail to meet the expectations they have nobody but themselves to blame - either for fostering the wrong kind of audience or by sucking at their job of keeping their anonymity intact. People like me who wouldn't give two fucks rarely if ever watch GFE vtubers because the content doesn't appeal at all. The implication that this type of standard is some universal vtuber problem is flat out wrong also, there are vtubers who have sex on cam, single mother vtubers, etc - and their fans aren't whining about it. They have a different audience.
@@akira8393 You can make a lot of money rugging NFT and cryptobros as an "influencer". At least you could a year ago. That doesn't mean you're forced to do it or that there are no consequences (possibly even negative ones) to doing it. This isn't just a vtuber thing by the way, lonely men looking for love are all over twitch camgirls too, the advantage that being a vtuber gives you is anonymity so that it's easier to hide your boyfriend(s)... but the point is you do actually need to hide it if you're catering to this audience. Or you need to choose less income and a different audience that doesn't care.
Honestly it's pretty hard for me to feel bad for her sake. I'm sure we are all aware that she was one of, if not the number one member in Hololive that really pushed the GFE experience and encouraged gachikoi fans. She pretty much had it coming to her and while some of the "fans'" behavior was unpredecented I can't say I blame them too much. They were basically being trained to not cheat on her and only keep their eyes on her constantly like robots or pets. And what makes this even worse is that even after facing so much bashlack after the incident it's like she hasn't learned a single thing and just kept pandering to her gachikoi fans to keep that GFE experience alive. Honestly everyone keeps saying that her fans was parasocial but I say Mikeneko/Rushia herself is parasocial to her fans. In the way that she loves and is addicted to that kind of affection and attention from people. Everyone keeps making memes about her being a menhera but I honestly think she really does suffer from some sort of mental disease (not saying this in a derogatory way btw) if she's this gullible to reality constantly trying to wake her up from delusions. In the end I can only say I pity her and hope that someday she finds the help or support that she truly needs and is able to grow better as a person and live a life that doesn't destroy her mental health cause I think she really needs it with all the constant drama she's getting involved in.
yeah i mean its like, you are literally asking for it at that point. while like any fans wanna say they supported her. let's face it those that makes the most money for her and pretty much in hololive dont. which is why i can sit and cope all i want about clowns that buy their merch and all but in the end of the day. you can only laugh up until they actually stop being sad clowns to sad psychopaths. just how many times do you need to happen before you finally understand it. i dunno if its her mental health or really cuz of money at this state, you can only go for so many times with mental health until one really decides to take care of that mental health. i pity her, and im sure we all do but i really just cant bear knowing she is just destroying her mind from the inside. It's hard to stomach this knowing you cant do anything but just watch as she keeps crashing again and again.
Do you ever wonder why I hold such a strong aversion to VTubers? They often adopt character roles and explore various themes. What's the purpose of this role-playing, perhaps purely for entertainment? Shouldn't the emphasis be on the virtual persona rather than the real-life body? It's delusional to believe that anyone stands a chance with her in real life or even with the VTuber persona. The continued negativity directed towards pixels only serves to affect her mentality.
@@DoxChanMusic well it's the same way of how kpop idols are. they are role playing, you can argue to meet people's expectations at some degree and we aint dumb enough to acknowledge that both of these two things involves real people behind them. the idols are play a human being much like the vtubers are with an anime face filter. and i know well both of them have fandoms that are toxic to some extent
@@DoxChanMusic They roleplay not really as idols but more like perfection that fits in the dreamy partner. there'sa reason why some would be ruthless when idols gain a little weight.

I'm not sure if she's happier, that's the main problem... she keeps getting into those dramas involving the same group of fans over and over again, I'm sure it's stressful and doesn't seem like she's improving on that aspect at all.
Ya hololive provided a lot of great career opportunities, a great network, and a community that she can’t get from Vshojo, not to the same success anyway.

Ah thank you!! Im glad you said that I was wondering if I was clear enough
Context:
She was supposed to join a big Apex tournament and already had a team.
A Kson fan could give more info on this.)
The comments are basically making fun of her and calling her a "curse" and other nasty stuff. There was some other stuff, like some fans not liking her attending the event with male streamers, but I feel like people are over-exaggerating that part of the story.
@@JohnSmith-hm8xl Kson is a lot freer because she got proper graduation and the main reason wasn't her fault.

This is what I prefer. Bring facts no weirdo humor/context and well structured.

The biggest issue Rushia has, other than possible mental health/emotional issues, is that she keeps making the same damn mistakes over and over. She needs to decide the type of community she wants and stick to it. She would honestly do better mentally and emotionally if she moved away from the gachikois. Not to mention she could have a lot more freedom in what she can do and who she can interact with.
eww
Hope she get some therapist, that is insanity disaster.

Hey Rima, we'll be waiting for the part 2 of this video.
Can a brother ask what happened?
I no longer follow V-tubers as much as i once used to.
The Mikeneko story is an absolute rollarcoaster, I hope when she returns, she's able to bounce back in a healthy way. Excellent video!
Tysm!
Bruh, she directly profited from that. She gave her consent to selling merch like fake Wedding Rings, mate.
And she was the top earner in hololive , the girl friend experience route is a quite double edged sword
Russhia is the enabler for those behavior.
Her usual streams are GFE.
No need to feel bad. This fanbase was intentionally cultivated and exploited for financial gain. The same mistakes are repeated again and again, nothing learned from the past. She deserves all that happens to her.
@@knusperkeks2748sound's bad to me though
How dare she do that./s
@@d.olivergutierrez8690cringe
@@FantasiephilosophRaku
I would agree but in Rushias case she really is SPECIFICALLY targeting that audience. Selling wedding ring merch and making GFE content.
Rushia was literally exploiting that audience, what kinda dumb narrative are you pushing?
Exploit the mentally ill long enough and they'll lash out when things don't go their way.
She keeps doing it too, she'll never learn.
@@revolvingworld2676 Yeah and she’s probably doing it because she can’t let go of her days as Rushia.
Well regardless, i really hope she haves a bright future and a good life ahead
Yeah same. Didnt wanna linger on that drama too long because it was alot of he said /she said but I hope all of that gets resolves
she was the one who throw me into vtuber hell, I just love her reaction and relation when her genmates
She’s really talented
this was probably the best video I've seen on these kinds of topics.. The opinion really adds a nice touch, great stuff!

Very good analysis ty
hololive did nothing wrong bruh
Cover terminate whole CN branch and lost a whole market to save Coco, Rushia did not only break the NDA with the drama channel fiasco, also it turn out she gave the top spender A special treatment like sending em private video or dm acting like their gf etc
Seems you're one of the one who can't wrap their head around it either. I'm sad for Rushia's initial harassment by antis, but she also turned on a bunch of her own coworkers and ratted out many secrets to the Japanese drama channels. She quite literally committed a large betrayal of trust not just legally, but to her own friends.

I get the feeling she had beef against Kanata too for archetype overlap and that ties into the Nazuna character
Before I watch (and knowing what it was during that time); Im glad her soul has been reincarnated and she seems much like a happier person. I still miss her as a character, but very much those memories are still archived on clips. Thanks for covering this topic
Edit: Yeah, fans (despite how crazy they can be), still need to respect boundaries of the talents over their own personal (and very often selfish) desires. But I guess that type of decency is hard to ask for over the internet.

Aww thanks bro!

"It's easy to blame the gachikois, but remember they're human."
So is everyone, and the rest of us humans can separate fantasy from reality, don't think someone we've never met owes us their abstinence, and wouldn't harass a person like this.
Tell that to Europe

And Mikeneko recently just confirmed the allegations of emotional abuse on her Fanbox.

Ahh ty 🙏
She's actually my first Vtuber, due to her clips non-stop poping up.
I am glad this video came up. Thank you for the well informed explantion as well.
Thanks for the video, I rarely watch streamers, and I only randomly watch clips if even, I hadnt seen Rushia clips in 5ever.
READY FOR PART 2 BOYS!?!?
If you keep feeding a fire don't be surprised when it burns you.
because Twitch and Irl livestreaming didn't show that beforehand?
@@Potatotenkopf They get fans because of their personalities juxtaposed with their anime-esque personas.
@@seg162 The actress is why people stick around, the anime persona is a marketing gimmick that makes it easier for their management to sell merch.
Both side stories are just sad and they all deserve better in life
100%
I had completely forgotten about rushias graduation and I’ve been following hololive at least the English branch for years thanks for helping me catch up maybe it’s me growing older but it’s disheartening seeing these extremely talented and successful people clinging to this bit of paradise they have so much they hurt themselves and people around them forgetting real life exists specifically when rushia reached out to another youtuber for help as if her youtube channel was all she was not the real person behind her avatar who would theoretically reach out to other real people not youtube channels
rushia did not graduate, she was terminated,
Thank you for another great video!!
EVERYTIME Cover corp or it's talent is put into a controversy/drama, i will look at Fubuki at how she reacts. Since she's still in Hololive and going strong. I will believe in Cover.
Yeah. Next to Sora, she’s the most professional member in hololive.
Mio too, she's almost a part of management herself.
Always a treat when Rima post🙏🤤
💜
Great work 👏. Rest well
Thank you Nova :D
@@MelvinDRosaria yeah pretty much. it just screams abusive relationship, plain and simple. in real life if a boy keeps giving his gf all but then expects something in return much like a girl gives all the flirting and body to him and expects everything as well. its just screams danger
> They both used to be with Hololive together
Sadly, they didnt have a chance to know each other. As you know that. Its like that one employee that that come for a week then leave. You know nothing of the person
@@グルイズビオ and yet the last year these two almost leading a drama because of a stupid rumors from another drama vtuber, and the source drama was from mikeneko AGAIN
Thank you for the video ❤
Wake up boys, new Fall of Rushia just dropped.
She's living the Needy Girl Overdose~
But there's no save/load and set to Nightmare mode~
I can't even denied it. I love VTuber drama
Amazing video,i used to love watching rushia's streams
Basically... she is the type that literally dwells in the past
maybe she's like those girls doing this for money and spend all they have in host club
given recent events...it seems that ruishia is quite similar on stream to how she is in real life...
rise, fall, and fall again
I wonder if she'll actually try and change now or how far she'll fall until she learns
Another amazing video
Thx bro!
Hopefully we change the way we views creators and not put them on such a pedestal that they cannot have private lives or social lives yeah..
@@johnguy2428 Yes. She had personal messages sent to her biggest paypigs. A lot of them are still whipped to this day.
Probably for the best, tbh.
based on myself, i can say it is for the better
Looking back to this video, she was terminated because of the leaked relation with mafumafu, now she was exposed to been married to mafumafu, made the whole thing a clusterfuck
It all started from the DM of Mafumafu.
In the context of her demanding to know where he is, it's hilarious.
And We already hold content creators too very high standards
i mean japan is no saint either too you know.
@@tiikerihai by the sounds of it. the fans do push the vtubers to do it more likely. i mean money talks afterall
@@akira8393 how do kpop idols roleplay? Do they roleplay being a singer or a dancer?
@@DoxChanMusic They roleplay not really as idols but more like perfection that fits in the dreamy partner. there'sa reason why some would be ruthless when idols gain a little weight.
