Here's a fanfiction movie situation,which I know will break your hearts because I am about to mention one of Liam Neeson's most iconic character Bryan Mills,aka the protagonist of the Taken trilogy:Bryan has been mentoring a young man(Justin Long),who we will only name Guy since his name is classified(at least to you commentors),and this young man-though not really young,since he's grown up,married to a beautiful lady(Ginnifer Goodwin),whom we will also only mention as Wife as her name is also classified,and has a 3-year-old daughter- is in trouble due to his former boss(Bryan Cranston) is after him for refusing to carry out a contract killing years ago.Bryan confronts Boss(last one whose name is classified),and in order to allow everyone to escape,he purposely fills the room with gas nd warns Guy to escape.However,because of his mutual respect,Guy quickly carries out Bryan out of the raging fire that impedes them,but despite being able to escape,his attempts end up fruitless,and Bryan unfortunately succumbs to his wounds.I told you it would be heartbreaking.Forgive me!😢

I don't know how but on my play-through James didn't die he actually ran off and the enclave chased him. I didn't know he died until my friends told me. I still don't know what happened after he ran away.

Actually in Fallout 1 you could tell the master where Vault 13 is or you can simply not give a fuck and spend the next 100 days getting drunk and having sex with hookers until the vault dies out.
I don't see what your point is because Fallout 1 doesn't technically force you to save vault 13. You're suppose to but you don't have to.
