As a DIY, I am always impressed how well you can paint without a fancy booth. I should have let you paint my truck. Stay safe and I look forward the next Mustang video.
Thank you for the help on this subject, I am building a 92 s10 with a nasty small block. Getting into body work I want to build this truck 100 percent and body work has all ways scared me in ways and guys like you are a great service to the car community.
As always great job my friend and even I a 59 yr old former corvette painter learns new tricks from a young guy and thanks for warning the guys about too much clear .. with 4 coats you have room for color sanding and buffing for a new guy ... 3 for you or me LOL
I have watched a few of your videos now and am impressed. I have a 95 S10 that I want to two tone. Just checked out the link of the paint you use. There is some awesome colors on there and they come as full kits minus primer which is perfect. Got some good ideas now. Thanks my man 👊
Glad you made this vid. I used Urekem and ran out I had bought a gallon. I'm not out yet but I didn't paint the bumpers & mirrors yet. I did the underside of the hood and the whole outside and I don't have much left so I had to buy more. Also the Urekem covers well but it's pretty thin. For my new paint I bought Tamco it's going to be thick it's 1:1. I'll do bumpers in 2 coats of that plus mirrors and use up the last of my Urekem on top so it will match. I should have bought Tamco from the get go it's way worth it.
I like to patiently layer out my paint coats. I save more paint spraying my coats in fast, medium wet layers with good flash times between coats versus laying on one wet coat that i know wont cover with a color like red or high metallic silvers
Painting the panels separate from the body at different times does that cause color variations in the paint .great job by the way always look at your work for inspiration.
Thanks for answering the amount of paint. Do you always put on a sealer? Say you are repainting the same color to the roof and hood of a pickup, you sand off the damaged clear and sand into the base. Do you seal it or just spray 1 coat of base and then then the clear or.................? Thanks again and thanks for the videos.
Nice to see someone on RUclips painting small parts with the LS400 in both sealer, base and clear. Do you use the gun set up you talked about in a separate vid for the LS400 which you posted and just “ feather” the trigger or do you “tweak” the settings as you go. If so what adjustments if any please. 👍
I shoot acrylic lacquer, I usually get for a camaro 2 gallons primer 3 gallons of base 4 gallons clear. just incase! because you don’t want to run out in the middle 🤡👍
The sealer what you did apply is that just normal 2k primer with a 4:1:1 mixing ratio. 4 parts primer 1 parts hardener 1 part thinners and how long do I wait to apply basecoat
what if I'm doing a extended cab Chevy Silverado that is great and I'm going back with about the same color and only doing one coat of the paint not door jams and not doing the bed either ?
What is a sealer? Is it a primer? Does it have any other names so i can find it in finnish? I have allways seen painters use sealer but i cant find out what it means
@@PHARRAWAY thank you. Been doing some research. I'm just getting into painting and found out the 26 gal tank I got won't cut it if I want to paint my own truck. So I definitely gotta get a bigger one.

Awesome video as always. Will you wet sand and buff. Thanks! Gary
Yes I will
What grits do you go to when wet sanding!!
Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts and Knowledge about Painting My Friend.

as long as the paint is coming from the same can

If your doing the same color you don't need the sealer you can spray the base straight on the sanded paint I have a video showing that
@@PHARRAWAY
Thanks I will look for the video on the sealer and base on the same color. Thanks
Awesome job again bro!!
Thanks brother
Great job
Thanks brother

I use the same adjustment just feather the trigger
PHARRAWAY 👍
Exelent workshop l am lornig from tour vídeos tutoriales 👷👏
That's a good idea brother
I like it 👏🏻
Im not missing the mustang build BOSS.
I love that red. Is it metallic? What is it called?
It's not metallic it's called candy apple red
I shoot acrylic lacquer, I usually get for a camaro 2 gallons primer 3 gallons of base 4 gallons clear. just incase! because you don’t want to run out in the middle 🤡👍
I have a Hyundai Santa Fe that I am changing the color. How much you think I need? What spray gun do you like? This is my first paint job.
You will make it with 1 gallon
nice job.. what sealer yr using? thank you
It's from Urekem I left a link to there site
@@PHARRAWAY thank`s

No, it's not normal primer this sealer does not need to get sanded
Ok then thanks
what if I'm doing a extended cab Chevy Silverado that is great and I'm going back with about the same color and only doing one coat of the paint not door jams and not doing the bed either ?
or the bumpers
I would get 1gal
👍🏼
What kind of paint do you use? I’m going to paint my ‘85 Monte Carlo soon
The brand is Urekem paint I left a link to the web site
PHARRAWAY thank you homie
Where do you get the grant clear?
I left a link in the description for the clear
Then the question becomes how much primer sealer do I need? 1gal?
2qts
No fancy spray booth and everything you paint looks like glass. I don’t know how you do it?
Thanks brother
After spraying the sealer do you sand it or go on to the paint. I doing single stage paint.
No just spray the paint you don't need to sand it
So I’m thinking of changing the color on my 04 Tahoe, will the gallon and a quart be enough or should I get more?
That will be enough
Hey bro I have a 2012 bmw 535i is 1 gallon enough to repaint the whole car a different color?
Yes it is
No le entiendo nada al inglés pero la idea la tengo , por eso espero el español😁😁👍✌️
Gracias amigo ya viene el Espanol
What is a sealer? Is it a primer? Does it have any other names so i can find it in finnish? I have allways seen painters use sealer but i cant find out what it means
Its primer but they sell it super reduced and does not need to be sanded its also called wet on wet primer
Even if ur leaving it the same color, I'd still want to paint jams, under hood and trunk, etc. Do it, do it right.
That is true brother comes out better
What size air compressor do you have?
it's a 60 gal kobalt
@@PHARRAWAY thank you. Been doing some research. I'm just getting into painting and found out the 26 gal tank I got won't cut it if I want to paint my own truck. So I definitely gotta get a bigger one.
@@heelrep86 Yes 60gal and up Will work
