In the 'water as birth' section of the video I also thought to myself how being famous and living life under a microscope is also like how a fish must feel in it's fishbowl. Being over analyzed but not being able to have an escape because it's living in a transparent case. When you're famous you become a 'public figure' literally meaning sacrificing yourself and everything that's traditionally supposed to be private in an average person's life to the public.
beautiful, beautiful love that sm. it reminds me of when she was encased behind glass in her Streets video as a mannequin and that's exactly how I saw it, watch that one too titled male ego and feminine persuasion ♡ i'm happy you're here ♡
I totally relate to what Doja said in that clip about her hair. I shaved my head 2 years ago and it was one of the most liberating things I've ever done in my life. Like she said, I too have "never felt more myself". I felt exposed and vulnerable without my hair, like I had nothing to hide behind, but also never more pure and powerful. I wonder if it's a return to your earliest self when you came out of the womb bald. I had so many women come up to me in public, giving me cudos saying things like "I've always wanted to do that, I wish I had the guts to do it." Our hair is so intertwined with our sense of self, sense of feminity, sense of propriety, and hence our sense of approval and value in the eyes of others. Like that brilliant hairdressing scene depicts in the award-winning series Fleabag "Hair is everything!"
I really enjoyed this video essay, thanks for sharing.
I absolutely loved what you said about the connection to the womb. really powerful. I've also shaved my head. it was honestly so revealing about the world we live in as well as the unseen world and the implications that hair has on us spiritually as well as materially. I'm so happy you shared your insight thanks for being here ♡
@@halanuman I’d love if you could elaborate a bit more on what you meant when you said “as well as the unseen world”. I’m not quite sure how to interpret it and curious to know more. Maybe you could do a video essay about it if you haven’t already.
Just seeing this now Sonja 💕 I’ll put it on my list
@@halanuman looking forward to it!
This video has really given me a clarity to that saying “to build and to destroy is to be divine.” Really great analysis, thanks for this 😌
Thank you ✨
oh yes, and that quote is very much Oppenheimer energy. I was thinking of doing an analysis on it after I watch the movie but we’ll see 😚
Ooo yea, you’re so right-didn’t even consider that. Well, yk I’ll be watching if you put sum out about Oppenheimer 🤩
thank you for mentioning how freud only valued the material world, it made me think of the time when carl jung was trying to share an anecdote about his reoccuring paranormal experiences and freud dismissed him only for one to take place at that exact moment. he apparently was speechless and in disbelief & jung mentioned it was one of the only times he saw him in that state.
i loved this so much. i was just thinking about doja and the 'attention' video last night because i had, like most people, assumed she was being provocative towards her fans due to some misdirected anger (that probably would've been better channeled at her label etc.) but the parallels you drew definitely gave a buffet for thought. it was nice to see her return to her roots with the rap style she chooses for most of the song while the chorus (similar to her pop music) is given a short life span in the overall song. v v well done!
I remember reading about that story too 😭 and thank you sm, it means a lot 🥰
I have been waiting and you always do this to me😭😭 You somehow piece my puzzle together for me and it's incredible. It's like you made this video specially for me. Anyway the wait was worth it❤ You nailed it ❤

This is so good!
Thank you 🥰 you’re za best
I love how you used the 1976 version of Carrie. It is my all time favorite movie. I despise the modern renditions.
Exactly - I haven’t even seen the other ones lol! Older movies required a lot more creativity due to less resources so there’s a lot more to analyze 🥰
i'm a guy but sacred geometry is always fun!!

Thanks for mentioning the Freud part. While your videos give me perspective, they also make me feel understood in terms of thought and I think this is a very valuable thing: be able to come together in a common set, evaluate and discuss. I love your channel so much, please never stop talking on similar matters. You are such a queen!!
Sooo sweet of you thank you Deborah ☺️ yes I feel the same way ✨ never stopping (iA) 💅
thanks :)
love it
absolutely love the message shared in this glorious video. the explanation of femininity and its different forms, different powers, different suppressions makes me feel empowered to be a woman. symbolism is a beautiful way of life, being cryptic yet clearly obvious. in ways, every act performed can be taken as a symbol for something much bigger. we are the givers of life and righteously hold the power to take it, too. not in a murderous manner, but in a manner of morphing this life into its next form. a metamorphosis of sorts. finding and becoming our true selves. bystanders will always have opinions. as seen in doja's case, it was suffocating to just see the comments mocking her for not being more "feminine" or "like herself" or "appealing". it sometimes feels like the duty of a woman is to behold "beauty" but it's so much more than just beauty, i admire doja for her self-expression. and i admire your outlook on a topic this deep which could just be seen as another song. the universe is full of secrets but we definitely hold the power to uncover them, to turn the page. loved the video and hope to see more!
your comment is held close to my heart. thank youu ♡ so beautifully written
