I watched this video after 8 years. I'm so impressed. I majored in trumpet, but I don't major now, but I'm very attached to this song, and it blows so beautifully.
Our lives are fleeting, less than100years. However, her graceful and wonderful performance is comfortable and will have immeasurable life and popularity and attraction
Magnific Hummel, special, mai putin cunoscut. In Romania promovam foarte mult balaoachesii si ciorimea in general, in loc sa asculatm muzica de calitate. Multumim
Perhaps you should listen more carefully. There were several very poor/weak entrances. The performance was dull and lifeless - devoid of musical emotion. But you will hear what you want to hear.
I love Haydn's trumpet concerto so much, it's my favorite concerto of all time, but Hummel's is just as good....brings tears of joy to my eyes to say this....
Haydn's Trumpet concerto waz written for a sort of keyed trumpet although scolars are not quite sure what kind of trumpet it really was ,it was written for Amron Weidinger in 1796 a friend of Haydn's, now i'mcurious was this concerto by Hummel written for this kind of trumpet, tge same as the Haydn concerto ,they where written in only 5 years apart the Hummel in 1801 or 2, i love them equally and i used to have the score of the Haydn concerto as i used to love playing it but with great regret not the Hummel then.
@@johnentwhistlesurelysamsun1840thanks for the information,,, you are right,, actually both concertos were written for the keyed trumpet and Anton Weidinger who invented it.
Muy valiente interpretación del concierto. Hay que estar ahí, delante de un auditorio para saber cuánto vale un músico que se enfrenta a esa partitura. Bravo!!

I was lucky enough when I was younger to play the 3rd movement with the Bath Symphony Orchestra. 2nd + 3rd mvmt were fabulous. However the 1st could be tweaked stylistically. Strange ornamentation, distanciated notes and slow tempo made for a strange sound. This is a beautiful, flowing trumpet solo and should be played as such, in my opinion. Of course these things are open for interpretation and it was a very good sound nontheless!
Ouch, came in too early at 5:32, otherwise Lisa's performance was beautiful. She has a gorgeous tone, very nice articulation, and her stylistic embellishments were quite nice.
A lively and engaging performance but with just a hint of fatigue towards the end. I don't have an issue with the ornamentation at 17.10; it is in the score.
Nice tone. But something about her technique is odd. Attack and release? At 17:10 starts a passage that she seems to throw some mini ornamentation into-or is it a technique issue she’s covering. I am not a brass player. Anyone have thoughts on her technique. Is it truly good? When I listen to Tine Helseth, I think her’s is very good. Is Tina Horvat’s technique simply different?
I don't think you can compare this version to Tine Helseth, as she has way better technique in my opinion. You can hear it on sound, airflow, intonation, tongue, range (going from high to low). When you here especially the 3rd movement here, these elements combined with the fingering, Horvat struggles a bit. You can also hear she rushes the tempo and cutting the airflow. Again, this is compared to Tine Thing Helseth, one of todays best classical trumpet players, so I don't think Horvat's playing is bad:)
She has a different approach...that part at 17:10 is correct..there's some cool ornamentation there....overall a great job...this is a very demanding piece.
lindyjon dear brother we shouldn't compare a youth musician who still has stress in stage to an old professional with a long career she played it very well with gorgeous sound and musicality and articulation everything was good she has a little stress and it's normal for a young musician I support her and wish her a big career
@@timhui9216 In every days' things you, me and all of us we tend to make comparisons. I mean the way shes plays is good really but as looking for excellence, I consider Lucienne Vary is just above. Its just my opinion, not more. Have a nice day and god bless you.
Almost very good. She should work a bit on her tone. It sometimes isn't very clear. Some air comes out on the side of the mouthpiece. The tones were all right so in that view it was well played
Maybe she should play the Harpsichord, Clavichord or Virginal instead. Just a suggestion of course. I think thinner lips are actually better for the trumpet. That may be the reason more women are now playing the instrument. But Bravo of course, excellent trumpet playing! Bravissimo!!!
I dont specially like it,she’s out of tune during the whole preformance ,she’s playing it with an e flat trumpet but her sound is just dull .Thats my opinion take it or leave it.(In my opinion I could have played it better)
Bravo Tina!!!

Well done, Tina Horvat, excellent !
Splendide interprétation avec un exceptionnel talent ! Sonorité, vibrato .... magnifiques ! Compliments d'un admirateur de Toulouse France
I forgot to mention how incredibly flawless this performance was,,, kudos to the trumpeter and the orchestra as well as the conductor,,,, great job.

Beautifully played by a beautiful trumpeter. Wonderful orchestra. Joyous and uplifting. Thank you. Mike Kelly, San Angelo, Texas

Such a long intro before the soloist gets to do their stuff. I would be shaking in my boots by the time it came to play.
What an uninformed comment.
A brilliant rendition, true to the style period alla Ed Tarr
Just like the second piano concerto.
Congratulations!!! very nice interpretation, thanks from Mexico City!
Your location isn't relevant.
un grand moment musical ! bravo pour cette magnifique interprétation
Maravilloso!! Felicidades!! Thanks a lot for share it. The lady is a marvelous interpreter!!
Very simple and very deliverate concise,
This Tina Horvat spent lot and lots of time practicing long tone routine to enhance mouth exercise, gourgeous
I have loved this concerto on CD for years. I am delighted to see it performed so capably. Thank you for the video.

Bellisima interpretación, la solista da la impresión de que no se esforzara, lo hace fácil. Saludos desde Mexico.
Very nice ! Good sound !

Beautiful playing❤
Good job!

Horvat blends fairly. I feel she is fine with the Trumpet.

Yes. Very good. Shows complete control over the instrument.

I don't see any problem with 17:10, maybe one extra note in there but it sounded fine and might have sneaked into one copy of the music
That "chick" can really blow. I think I heard several mistakes but overall very good. Blatant timing issue around 9:17 elapsed.

Lucienne Renaudin Vary' technique is better, no doubt !
Jean-phi Chacha it is no meaning to compare with

I agree! Lucienne is really brilliant! But this lady is still really good, amazing player.
WHAT IS a name trumpet player?
What is this question? Ignorance is bliss?
Not bad, but for a perfect interpretation you'd have to listen to Tine Thing Helseth. Nobody else comes even close.
Totally agree but this one does come pretty close.
Tine Thing on the trumpet…Surely not

My man Hummel just straight up plagiarized Mozart's Haffner symphony.
Tell us how.
This girl is better than Marsalis in this concert
I like Alison Balsom playing it best

@@johnhills7257 Me too. The sound is too "raw" for me. Too much attack. Sounds like summoning the troops on a parade ground !

Have to disagree there. Wynton far far more depth and all round smoother sound. Good performance though.

AMAZING!!!
