    No other Hundai vid was showing what the spark plugs looked like and how many miles the car had. Thanks for showing. Mine need replacing.

    It's time consuming but it's pretty easy. Just nuts and bolts. If you take it in to have this done they charge an ark and a leg and most times they don't touch the back 3 plugs.
    When I do this, I like to also replace the plug wires and clean the MAF while you're there. Old bad plugs and a clogged MAF can reduce your fuel mileage by about a third.

    Same engine in the Sonata, Azera/Grandeur and the trajet. I have the trajet and realized that the plugs will be a nightmare to change in future. I bought it only a week back but the dealer done the plugs and leads fortunately. That's why they needed a week and a half to fix it before getting tags on it. Plus they done the front shock mounts which are a nightmare for the van because they're in a tiny gap. Just the way the trajet hood goes.

    Don't drench the plug with antiseize. It just needs a straight strip down one side. It will spread as you twist it in

    got a Tiburon, same motor, took an hour and a half start to finish and I took the manifold completely off. disconnected the throttle body, so much easier. At this point, one should consider cleaning the manifold, throttle body, mass air flow sensor and check for leaks.

    Putting anti seize on plug threads increases resistance don't do it it reduces the life of the plug and affects performance just don't over tighten them and they'll be fine coming out next time

    What size spark plug socket do you use for a Hyundai Tucson?

    I have to do this. Mine runs perfect, but it looks like the original ones are still in at 148,000 miles. This should be fun...ugh!

    I FINALLY got the manifold cover off. I followed all of the instructions to remove it and then to "lift" but I still can not get it high enough to reach the last plug! how did you get it in the air like that?

    • @Redis57
      @Redis57  7 лет назад

      I put a chair.cushion to rest my huge tummy on it. and a step ladder to go up and lay flat on the cushion to reach the all the spark plugs. Being a 5'4" don't help at all. lol

    • @pbaron081
      @pbaron081 7 лет назад

      Redentor Dela Cruz, haha yeah I'm pretty short so I had to use a stepladder. I figured out how to get it to lift. I had to unplug the ignition wires and unscrew the bolts the right of the plenum then I was good to go. Now to get my ignition coil pack off and changed and I'll be all set!

    He made an 8 min video of himself, twisting spark plugs? Why? Why not show all the steps he took along the way. Why have the camera five feet away? He spent 5hrs removing one part without “googling” it or “RUclipsing”? The internet and experienced mechanics are my best tools. I ask them questions everyday.

    I guess they are probably worse as many do not make the effort to service/replace the rear plugs due to cost

    do not drop the spark plugs in the hole it may change the gap of the spark plug

      what do you do then? any way to ease them in there?

    • @KingT.Challa
      @KingT.Challa 7 лет назад

      Put them in the spark plug socket, slowly go as far as you can and then let go if it's not seated. Shouldn't be but maybe a centimeter max distance.

      Tear a little piece of the box that the spark plug comes in and stick it on the side to make a Snub Fit in the socket

    • @johnduncan4722
      @johnduncan4722 3 года назад

      You can use a small length of hose - something with a small enough diameter to fit over the top nub of the spark plug. You can just ease it in and start threading it.

      Also you can use a magnet. One of the pen looking ones and just put it in like that. They are a few bucks and make any spark plug job easier. Work with the car not against it. Im telling you from my personal mistakes so you dont do it

    • @Redis57

      yes, make sure you also replace your TIMING BELT if you have not done so. This is an interference engine, piston might hit your valve, if the timing belt breaks while driving high speed.
