I wholeheartedly concur... I didn't even notice the fall until I bought the state video a few months later. Despite that error, there were so many things right with this show that made it stick out from all the other bands' performance. Also, I have a friend who is an LD Bell alum who marched in that show.
I was in The Colony's band this year, and I was always very impressed by your performances. I was surprised that we split the 4 competitions we had that year.
It's at Floyd Casey Stadium on the Baylor University campus. They moved it to the AlamoDome after it rained heavily one state year, and several kids were injured during their shows.
In 2002 state was at Waco also, during that competition, as "tbonesfa" said, many people were injured during their shows. That and as well has the field conditions lead the prelim rankings to be certified as the final ranks for that year. As for 5A the alamodome was used from '04 and on.
Yes I was part of that, a trumbone player fell and we tripped over her! Luckily none of the trumpets fell and the trumbone player got up fast and we were all able to get back into our spots quickly! Crazy night!!
I assume since you have this show frome state, that you might have others...If you have the Leander band show I would love it if you posted it...please please please...I remember sitting in the stands after our finals performance watching this and just waving the white flag in defeat...DAMN!!
@AllStater09 Yep. Two spots you dont want to make a mistake in. That last move and the block just before it where the lines interweave (aka "tenor block" Bell called it), hes lucky he didnt get seriously injured.
Any chance you still have the VHS I cannot find a copy of Richland High Schools performance that night. Would be so appreciative if you could upload their performance also if you still have that finals tape.

I could watch every L.D. Bell show continuously. They're all so good!
Shout-out to the tuba player at 4:44 keeping time for the drum major so he doesn't slow down ;-)

This show was 3 years in the making. Very nice to wrap up the trilogy with a State title. I remember being there and you just owning everyone :)
Shit! I quit 1 year too early. I could've played on that Snare Line. Those were fun times. Keep it slammin'&jammin' D-Line!🤘
woo!!...those ppl under me are from my school..
yea..were marching that..
super duper cool!!!
LOVE IT!!
We played this in our 2003-2004 show at Ben Davis. Go I can still remember some of the music. Our show was called Of Power and Grace
Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, TX.
Zombie Alice it was cold that night

I remember that contest! I was at Fossil Ridge and remember seeing this show and TC. I remember seeing TC at the TOC contest in Carrollton.
I'm at LD Bell starting this year! I work the metronome cause i'm a transfer but normally I play flute as well. This is really cool.

I was a junior. Man so long ago!
Love the show.
Reminds me of Union 2000, and Lafayette 01', Lafayette's 1st movement was basicly an exact drill copy, and used the same music.........
I am not a fan of LD Bell's shows of past years. They are a lot more drama than marching and playing! I have to admit though, this is pretty beast.
The colony show that year was what....the train stuff O_o? I still dunno why we lost that invitational.
Yes it's state. We didn't go to nats when I was at Bell.
l.d. bell's BOA performance made this look like a 2A band

Great band. ♥♪
7:17, anyone else see the 3 trumpets shove each other to get back in formation. it's in the left hand side of the screen in the 2nd to last line
@AllStater09

The horn was left in the middle of a backwards move as I recall and took several people out

NICE!!!!!!
Any LD bell drumline members know if Anthony Smith is Tenor in this?
How about that snare roll at 5:55.
Where is their HS level band?
@tootmyhorn8295 yeah in recent years it's been pretty alright but it needs the marching band style of old... not to old I mean the 2000
corection our 2md movement was different
don't hate on small bands lol
@cultureshock86 why in the world would you want to see that, Leander did horrible in the finals
Same drill and music haha, you know bell likes to recycle material
