I still game the R15. About a 7 handicap. I carry about 240 with a controlled fade and about 250 straight. I wonder how much yardage I'm losing with the weakest link 🤔😂
Love these past 2 TM comparison videos! Great stuff as always! Gaming the Sim 2 Max with the tour ad iz 6x and never have driven the ball as good as I do now this year.
To me, TM Drivers are soo shaft dependent -- I loved the Cobra f9 but it was very unforgiving on even slight off center strikes -- after wrestling with a number of settings and shaft combos during extensive on course testing (as switching ball manufacturers!) I can honestly say the SIM generations of drivers are some of the longest and most forgiving on the current market. But they take some serious experimenting to dial in -- but worth it! (SIM 8 degree set to 2 degree higher, full draw setting, stock non velocore Ventus Blue shaft 6s - Bridgestone B RXS ball - I'm over 50) -- great stuff Andrew -- and fun to watch!
Couldn’t agree more about the SIM points… they really are a cut above drivers of years past. The stability in SIM 2 has made playing so much more fun this year… very few foul balls haha
After a long layoff from golf, I started with the R15. It was a great improvement over my older Porsche driver. Then I moved up to the M3 and saw another improvement. Both the R15 and the M3 had the Tensi shafts and I really liked the feel. Then I bought an M5 with a UST Proforce V2 shaft. I swapped the UST with the Tensi and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Put the UST back in and all the performance came back. Would like to upgrade to the Sim2, but haven't been able to find time to try it. JM2C
The shaft/head combination is wild how much of a difference it makes. Even in my SIM when I switch between Ventus Black and VA Drago the difference in performance is night/day. You gotta love all the folks getting triggered over a fun test, though.
Totally hear ya! The major difference is how much newer stuff beats older stuff when miss-hit, that’s where advancements save us strokes. Golf is all about how good your bad is, and if some added stability and forgiveness can save you a stroke or two off the tee because it’s one less shot off line, or a lesser club into the green… it could be worth the money. That being said, if that doesn’t matter, then saving your money is the best move 👌🏼
I’m rockin the 8 degree sim with a tour ad hd 6x. Never driven the ball better. Ditched my epic flash. Pretty sure the shaft was the biggest difference for me though.
Pretty cool. Next year maybe be a good idea to take 10 swings per club and only use the averages. Might get a little tiring towards the end, but hey, it’s for science.
No doubt others have said this but what's the point of this comparison of the variables aren't as equal as possible. You're using the same shaft and that's good. The head lofts should be set the same despite what standard is. If not then spin is your enemy especially if you're using distance as your preeminent data point.
Yeah I have some older shafts, but I also had a 3 year stretch of using the same shaft across all head. The heads are the keepsakes, the shafts don’t bring back memories

@@andrewjensengolf do it on you home ramge and then you can pick em up. You bring a lanuch monitor out but let the ball be an uncontrollable factor. We have all hit some terrible range balls. Anyways just my thoughts considering the ball is one of the biggest factors in distance
@@pchardball7951 unfortunately, I can't do that at my range. These are new range balls and however "poor" the data can be from them, it's consistent across the board with all shots. Again, if this was a super duper serious on/or meant to actually fit me into a driver; I would do it indoors with premium seeds

I’m the same. Although I have tried a host of newer drivers, I always hit fairways with the SLDR 460, but 4000+ spin with it is a killer in the wind.

It’s been the same sleeve since 2013, so all the shafts since then, with that sleeve, will work in any head
