I feel there is a mismatch between Johorians and the Royal family. Hope they can make a change make Johor more prosperous but as they say habits hard to change. God bless the Royal Family.

For those who said this is bought using tax payer money, it is not. The Sultan owns the land in large parts of Johor as his family has been the ruler and land owner of the state for hundreds of years even before the state became a state, when it was the Kingdom of Johor. He also has a successful multiple billion dollar business that doesn't involve tax payer money. He doesn't even take a dime from the government and he rejected the royalty allowance from the government. So there you have it

I also heard that the sultan’s son eldest son also do donations often.

every system has good and bad, royalty good side is to restrict ultimate power of politician, bad side, can misuse power for own benefit
democracy also have good and bad, so do communism or monarchy
but most important things of all of that is the citizens itselft, good citizen = good leader = good nation
