The is an ignorant take, based on long ignorance over how the Yankees champ ship teams were built. Go ahead, look at the 96-2000 Yankees and tell us all exactly who were the high priced free agents brought in.
Bernie, Posada, Pettitte, Rivera, Jeter, Mendoza, Lloyd, Bush... All homegrown players, and not the only ones, to have big impact for one or more championship winning teams. Tino, Paulie, Brosius, Clemens, Wells, Cone, and on and on, were trades. The big free agent pickup in 96 was Kenny Rogers. 98 it was El Duque, out of Cuba. That's really it for big free agent signings during the stretch. Outside of that, there were trades and signings of guys who were reclamation projects, second chance guys, vets who appeared to be done. Like Strawberry, Gooden, Raines, Boggs.
Everyone always says they bought those rings, and it is as close to the opposite as it gets.

Whoever is talking shit did not see the contract & how the Yankees tried to play him. I would’ve left too.
Besides that. The Mets have the BETTER Team.
Soto watching. Judge just crumble in the post season. Another reason why I wouldn’t come back either. It’s just not the yanks time anymore sad to say. Mets got the most money, better organization. & are allowed to do whatever & not follow silly codes like the Yankees carry.

I've been a Yankees fan since 2003, but the 2023 and 2024 seasons have broken me. (Specifically, the organization's complete lack of accepting responsibility for blatantly obvious issues) I was waiting for Soto to officially go to the Mets to decide that now I'm a Mets fan. Cohen is the owner I wish the Yankees had. He is literally more like George Steinbrenner than George's own son. Cohen is really trying to build the dynasty the Yankees should have already built, and he's getting closer each move.

There’s two things going on here first Soto is showing his true colors. He is an absolute selfish mercenary and I would not want him on my team. I don’t care how good he is offensively that’s my opinion. The second thing going on here is shame shame on the Yankee fans you knew when you signed him That there was a chance he would be there for just one year and guess what he was there for just one year move on. I’m gonna tell you something Yankees. It’s a blessing in disguise. Now you can take all that money and get what you really need and you don’t need a megalomaniacwho doesn’t play any defense and may not be good for your clubhouse. Remember this Juan Soto has been on four teams in seven years and by the way, the Padres are doing well without him just remember that.
