Heptabase has genuinely been life-changing for me. Supports my non linear way of thinking. Couldnt be happier to have found it.

Absolutely brilliant piece of software! Alan & his team are duly congratulated as are Tom & Paco for picking up early on the significance of the tool for PKM. Streets ahead of anything else! I can't wait for it's own Inbox UI either!

I only use ai for very dense scientific journals to give short summaries of each paragraph. If you have AI do all of the thinking for you, then what are you really gaining? This is the same for highlights. Putting highlights on a board is not comparable to just writing your own note and putting it on the board. Rearranging someone else's thoughts has very quickly diminishing returns. Sure, we are "saving time" but you are getting a much lower quality product, and for the case of students, you aren't actually saving time... as low order thinking requires much more revision compared to deep-level encoding.
