This is my new bike, the 2023 BH Ultralight 9.0. This bike has a very specific shaped front fork for a reason...
It's re-designed from the previous model with more aero features and a lighter frame. My bike comes with the 12-speed Dura ace Di2 Groupset. I'll race the bike this summer on Haute Route Alps and coming weekend on L'etap de Tour Denmark. Any questions let me know in the comments.

My new bike this year is my old one with a new chain
New chain makes the bike feel like new!
Keep rocking it, fun gas!!
I will.
Enjoy your new bike. It looks great 🤙🤙
Nice video as always jasper!!! An honour for me riding together around one of our favourite climbing routes in Valencia!!! Hope to See you soon for more!!! Good luck on haute route!!! See yaaah
Awesome mate. See you again for another ride 💪🏻💪🏻
Awesome looking bike you have. Nice lines and looks very clean aesthetically. Look forward to the race footage coming soon
Thanks!! I think it looks special indeed. 👍🏻
freaking NICE BRO,,,congrats on that new machine and the new sponsors..
Thanks!!
Nice bike!
Fun video, had to laugh at the Netherlands greetings since it’s just like where I live. And the ‘if you have a crash or flat you’ll be alone and you die’ comment was too funny. Enjoy the bike.
Cool bike. Reminds me a bit of the BMC frames. I remember a long time ago in the late '00's maybe? some elite guys had BH frames. And was the first noticeably aero frame I saw really. Looked quite futuristic back then.
Maybe they where ahead of time back than? Nowadays most aero frames start to look similar. Think the Bh is still quite different
Respect ! You are a man making a buck, doing what you love and doing it well. Seem to be an honest hard working dude with great content. Actually already interested in BH bikes for the first time after watching this video.
I appreciate that! Thanks man!
Congratulations mate.
New sponsor ey, awesome.
Thanks!
Your bike is great,i have a BH ultralight Evo from 2018 and its one of my favorite bikes ever.and i hade more than 10 diferent frames, still have 6,all with shimano ultegra and Dura ace,the weels i still have 10 pairs, from dura ace c35 tubulares,c24,Speedsix 38 mm tubulares,Bontrager aelous tubeless, Mavic Cosmic Carbon, and Ksyrium and fulcrum.Ride safe and thank for your video.
Bro came here just to flex 💀
😂
Plenty of gear!🤙🏻
@@MarkBurghouwt flex its in the gym👍💪
@@talibe801 can you sell me one of your bikes I only have a cheap shit Triban 😂
Silca Break cleaner has worked perfectly for me! Spray a good amount. Wait 5-10 mins. Spray water. Done. No noise!
I’ve used brake cleaner…. Doesn’t really work. Pads need to be sanded down etc… all a bit of work.
Btw, the automotive brake cleaner is usually lots cheaper than the “bike specific” cleaners which is just marketing… 😉
The video was super. It has been a long time. What are your gears, front and back? Show us how you take off the wheels with your hidden axle?
The 12 speed have different cassette options than 11spd.
Front is 36-52, rear is 11-32
yoo000 Jasper!!
Watching this on my own “new bike day”. It’s fun looking at it while watching the first rain for 5-6 weeks 😅
Awesome! What bike!?
@@jasperverkuijl Cannondale supersix
@@ankjaers awesome bike 🙌🏻
love the bike, congrats on the support... why the shimano cleats over the look? Ive always run the look pedals ... shimanos looks super similar...
I don’t like how they clip in…. Don’t know why but I’ve always been messing around with the look pedals and no issues with Shimano’s
Nice video and bike... looks awesome 😉 Congrats!
Have you noticed a wider stance of the pedals or just adapted to the bigger Q factor as it is?
Also, do you know where the bikes are produced? somewhere in Asia or is it an inhouse in Portugal?
And one more thing🙂, just an idea for the video, you mentioned crashes, have you thought about making a video of the crashes you've had and how you could have avoided them?
I haven’t ridden it enough with the new pedals to be able to judge the wider Q factor.
It’s a Spanish brand but I don’t know where the frames are made. I’ll check.
@@jasperverkuijl thank you!
Looking forward to see your journey!
Lekker Bh’tje hoor 🎉
Strapless 👌🏻
Jasper gives us everything, including him taking a piss 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What you see is what you get
hahahahaha that part about how they greet in the Netherlands, brilliant!!! 🤣In their defence though, I've been slowly influencing Dutch riders with my manners over the years. There are a lot more Dutch riders greeting these days, even if it is just a nod of head 😉 🚴
True!! I just keep greeting too!🤙🏻🤙🏻
Here in the east of the Netherlands we generally greet. I still give more than I receive, but still :P
I'm in the center of NL and I always greet... Ok maybe not everybody on busy days 😅 🤙
From what site did you purchase your frame?
Recently got myself a pair of assiomas and made the switch to Look cause I thought it was still the old Shimano system where you had to assemble it yourself. I have to admit, I actually quite like the Look pedals more than the Shimano ones. Only downside for me is that the Look cleats are super slippery to walk on smooth surfaces.
I’m glad you like them!👍🏻👍🏻
You can buy cleat covers for your Look. I use them and have no problems walking, Good for gravel and tiles.
Hej Jasper which garmin are you using ? Looks like an 830 to me or is it bigger? Best Regards and keep it up (get well soon!!!)
830 indeed
Love the look of this bike but I don't see it available in the US unfortunately.
They are trying to spread out from Spain to the rest of the world. Maybe the US is a step to take in the near future
Nice! Regarding the squealing disc brakes - Did you bed-in the brakes before your first ride? (requires doing controlled stops to evenly distribute the new brake pad material onto the rotor). If you didn't bed-in the brakes before a hard stop or a long downhill you may have some brake pad material deposited in one spot on the rotor and that could be causing the squeal.
Yeah I thought I embedded them correctly but think I may have done it wrong 🤷🏼♂️
You can just repeat it, if they're still squeaking. Just take off pads and rotor and kind of wet sand them all with isopropyl alcohol and 120 grit (or even finer) sandpaper for metal. Afterwards you can bed them in as usual again
@@TobiB89 ok I’m going to do that 👍🏻
Lovely bike beautiful can make video helmet that is the best
I really like my BH g6 pro unfortunately BH dont import into Australia....ive been holding out for few years now for them to srart again
Maybe in the future! I understand they would like to upscale outside of Spain. (Obviously one of the reasons they wanted to work with me🤙🏻)
Great to hear you’re happy with your current bike!
I promise i will greet you with a big CYCLING FANATIC yell
Deal!!
hey jasper what size are you srx pro elite bib shorts?
Medium
Nice bike😍Jasper can you help me I bought some Siroko K3 with PHOTOCHROMIC lens and I added Blue lens and after one ride the blue on the front of the lenses is coming off, contacted them and they're asking me how I clean the lens what the hell can you help?
Hey mate. Sorry to hear that.
Yes the coating of the mirror lenses is a bit sensitive. So cleaning it with water and rubbing it with a paper towel or normal towel can sometimes damage it… unfortunately.
I use hand soap and water and gently rinse it off. Than use the pouch or soft Tshirt or something to wipe dry.
@@jasperverkuijl cheers for the reply, I use the soft cloth to wipe the two rain drops after my ride in ibiza and now the lens looks like a dog's dinner, I've had lots of different sunglasses in the past and none have looked like this after 3years never mind 3hours, I can quite honestly say absolute garbage, the other lenses are ok ☹️
@@philswift1180 hey dude. I contacted my siroko contact for you (This is an exception !), send me a DM on Instagram and we will sort something out for you 🤙🏻
Nice bike. How light us it?
I don’t know. Don’t have a proper scale
Hé Jasper, je weet dat je je Garmin kan koppelen aan je di2?
Nee wist ik niet. En wat heb je daar aan?
Kan je je handjes bij de remmen houden
Nice bike! How much does it weigh? 6.1 kg?
No, I’m sure not that light. Think that will be very hard to reach with a disc 12 speed di2 groupset
The DA 12-speed group is more heavy than for example a rim Brake 11 spd. ..
I stil have to weight it ..
@@jasperverkuijl it looks very light. Depending on your tires and with/without tubes you could be at 6.9 kg, which still would be a real weapon.
What do you think about the increased Q Factor on the Shimano Shi Duo by Assioma? Did you notice any problems?
If i can answer; it seems very personal. I’ve read people with zero problems, and few with knee problems after few weeks/months riding. I am afraid nobody can answer this for you personally. Bigger larger riders seem to have lesser issues than smaller riders. I don’t know. As i didn’t want to have any risks, i went for the look duo version, which don’t have the q-factor issue. And differences between look cleats or shimano cleats are almost non existing. Both have their fanboys, but i’ve read many reviews where people say there’s hardly any difference. Look is ofcourse the ‘inventor’ of this cleat system. Some say shimano cleats are easier to walk, but look changes that too. The duo version comes with cleats. My two cents.
I haven’t ridden them more than an hour because I’m still working on molding the new Bont shoes with the Shimano cleats. So can’t say much about the Q factor and how it changes.
But I actually find it a massive difference between the look and Shimano cleats. I’ve disliked the look cleats ever since I got them and happy to be able to use the Shimano’s again.
They seem to clip in 100x easier..
@@jasperverkuijl hey jasper; there’s so much differences between cleats on their own only. Shane (lama) did a test with different branded cleats into several powermeter pedals. It’s differs from easy clipping in and out to almost impossible. You might have gotten one of the ‘not so good’ ones. ruclips.net/video/2dLNGcCIacc/видео.html&feature=sharec . Ofcourse the cleats shouldn’t be worn out etc, but that goes for all brands. Anyways, it also seems personal, hope it now works out for you.
i have done a bike fit last week and compared the Look vs shimano version. there will be a video on it so I wont spoil
@@jasperverkuijl ik zal mijn adem maar niet inhouden zo lang he? Dank voor je video’s (bv de gravel race van laatst): geeft inspiratie om te blijven fietsen aan een oude fiets fanaat.
What i did if my brakes are noisy and doesn’t work well. Im burning the brake pads on the gas stove and wiping it with isopropyl alcohol and wiping the disk brakes with isopropyl alcohol…
Yeah I probably need to fix them in some way..
Somehow it works😁😊
Bondia sounds hetzelfde als onze goedemorgen 🤣
Moguhh
What characteristic of the BH make it prone to crashes on descents, Jasper ?
Maybe some grease on the road that caused my rear wheel to wipe out suddenly?
What are you aiming at with this comment?
@@jasperverkuijl grease on the road that will crash any bike, even w a rider as skilled as you, right, Jasper..? Just curious are you running 25, 28 or 30mm wide road tires?
@@noels8817 I was on 28mm Vittoria corsa
@jasper did you ride tubeless setup and would you recommend tubeless ?
@@noels8817 yes. Been on tubeless for a few years now. It’s a bit of a hassle but rides great
How many bikes do you have 🤔
N+1
Change brake pads to Swiss Stop brand, never noisy brakes.
Sounds like an idea
Jasper marry her already...ya'all got kids and all. 😅 nice video bro
Isn’t that just a waist of money?😅🫠
Maybe you like to sell your old pedals ?:) i'd really need some used powermeterpedals
Nope I’m keeping them since I travel so much and have different bikes so in my case it will save some time/effort to have 2 sets 🤙🏻
your thoughts on the bike please! 👇
It reminds me of a bra, that’s a nogo for me.
The bike looks cool!
I like the new stuff - fork design & hidden thru axles. Looking forward to more content on it 🙃
it is not a rim brake bike
@@sjoerd4307 no shit Sherlock 🤣
I miss the Aeroad! 🥲
i wonder if ultralight can get below 7.5kg
7.2 kg for 10k € 🫣
I’m not sure, I have to measure…
your legs are your power source :P
Yep. And the pedals are the measuring device 🤓😉
KOGA... Why not Koga dutch bicycles?
Yeah there are so many brands right. 🤷🏼♂️
I’ve never been in touch with Koga ..
@@jasperverkuijl Not many brands with such long good history as Koga, though. And with such good looking bikes (exept for Kinsei, but that one at least is aero AF). They are Dutch, you are Dutch, maybe your roads will cross at some point, I hope :)
All the best, take care.
@@slavzizek403 well, in this case, BH had actually been in the bike production way longer than KOGA! I didn’t know either before i knew the brand but the company bh was founded in 1909 and started producing bikes from 1923!🙌🏻
@@jasperverkuijl That's interesting, thanks for the info. I'll check them out more closely then :)
