Save the motor for a rebuild, then part out the rest. Even the tow bumper and lights are worth money. Like the videos Sir, keep them coming.
A piece of Americana. A work horse. Cheap to fix. Lowered with a cool cab on the back.. rained day project..
I would fix it up. And still try and get it to start.
Fix it junk it scrap it is can see it either way so what ever you do those of us that see it that way will stand by your expert opinion stay safe my friend
Well I guessed wrong on what vehicle. But I know you'll make the best of it. Keep up the great work
Looks like a good parts rig in my opinion
I vote for put it back together...
Are in Massachusetts that truck the way it sits is worth a couple of grand, I'm sure they're a dime a dozen where you're at. You know what you're doing, whatever you decide is cool with me. Keep up the good work and the excellent videos 👍✌️🇺🇲
I would fix that squarebody it's pretty solid
People could up grade their trucks . Tilt wheel power windows A/C two fuel tanks .I had a Custom Deluxe stripped down model .The best was the last year throttle body EFI 1987 .Squares are going up or their just cool again because so many have been crushed .
Cool truck, starting to go up in value! With the Nomad you've fixed worse😅
Yes he sure has I've seen alot of his clunkers turned into straight up CLASSICS
You can still salvage your expense advertised whole or parts as a square body.
Part out, I would find a complete one if you're doing a build. Nice driveshaft mod...
Is buy that any day of the week I love the 70's to 80's square bodies . I have some parts for them .
Im from Ontario canada .that cab looks really good. Lots of rust here.
I know, I grew up there. Rust free trucks like this are normal here so doesn't make them more valuable.
Not to bad
Mr. B. Here ! From what see I would do a inspection from end to. end ! 😊😊😊😊😊😊
No title, that's a deal-killer. It will take more parts and money. Then it is worth.
The prices of those square bodies is crazy lately. If you can get a title for it , you could make some money off of that thing.
Nice fun project... and you can get any part for that thing you need straight out of the catalog... if that's the way one wants to go. Nice find.
I would make a pros and cons list of restoring the truck. These are bringing alot of money these days. Might get you more views.
Make nice looking truck
The square body's are worth A pretty penny right now o would get the parts to get it back to at least original I bet it's a 7000 dollar tuck at least
Lee, I agree, part it out, you will make 3 times your original investment, you know what sells and what doesn't, Thanks for sharing 👍
I have this same truck with a 350 in it. But blue. For sale. I pull hay wagons with it. 1200
That bummer is from a 90s Chevy truck the one for that one is flat. No peak
Those old sqare boddys are Werth some money but looks really rough I'd part it out
Id Do a Will It Run, and Keep your eye open for another one and take 2 and make one !
I want that hubcap off the truck!!
The enthusiasm is evaporating minute by minute.
Part it out. The bed, back bumper and tailgate will bring a few bucks.
has a tilt column too. I bet I can get $200 for it
@@clunkersandclassics I see a will it RUN AND YARD drive video I have seen through ure videos WHAT YOU CAN DO
We think a like. Little bit of work, after your pulling the parts you want. Sell the rest have free parts for your project.
Im a big fan of the square bodys the blazers i was lookin at online been goin up alot but in all honesty unless ur planing on keeping it for urself cus itd be a nice truck id just scrap it maybe see if the motor turns over an go from there
them square body GMs trucks are real easy to work on they now now come in a little cheap Chevy go by 10,20,30 and GMC go by 15,25,35 the C model are 2wd and the K model are 4wd. my dad had a 1973 GMC Sierra C-15 standard cab p/u with a 1968 or 69 Corvette Stingray 327 C.I engine and a Turbo 350 auto trans and install Lincoln town car wheels on the truck. the Lincoln car wheels just fit right on in with no mod work don't ask how cause when my mom drove it to work back in 1995 and her co-worker saying that ain't right a car wheel can't fit on a truck. in late 1996 my dad traded the truck to a 1974 Dodge Custom W-100 know as Power Wagon pick-up with a 318 and a 727 auto.
I believe I'd part that one. That bed is nice.
81and 82 have signals in the bumper
Watching ure videos and seein what you Can do with those clunkers id honestly take a shot at it on a will it RUN AND YARD DRIVE. I know ya can bc I've seen your work.
I could but is it worth the time and money?
@@clunkersandclassics I figure it this way it's worth whatever you want 2 put in it my 99 ext cab s10 I put a built 355V8 with vortec heads and a 5sp in it. I have a bit over $4000 in it and people say I put 2 much in it but then again it's not theres 2 say what I can put in it. Ya know what I mean.
That orange Vega would have been a nice one to put a big motor in.
I didn't see a Vega?
People are asking around 3500 for running square bodies in worse condition than yours near me.
This one doesn't run though. Engine and trans could be bad and no title. I'd have over $3500 in it trying to get it to run and drive.
Part it out. Use the profits toward doing another squarebody with a title.
the bed sell for way more than 200
hell yea part it out, at least you saved it per say. get your money back and a steak dinner and g2g
You got the motor and transmission in that 77 tan car easy to drop that in the truck
I'm saving that for a more valuable vehicle to put into.
I'd have bought the 2 Corvairs! But, since, you did go down to Sherman, TX. and it is a square body Chevy! It's easy to see if the engine is locked up or not, maybe, the rat shit didn't get thru the Q-jet. You've got plenty of Chevy parts around your lot! You've got tires! Oh, you're gonna part it out, at least, you're not gonna crush it. Otherwise, I'd say, call Classic truck rescue he saves trucks !!
depends on how much you want to spend . I restored an 82 Silverado and went way over the actual " value" of the truck, however my " sentimental value is priceless" lol if you want to do it just for fun go for it, but if you want to do it to re sale.. pass on it
you'll never find me losing money on a build on this channel.
@@clunkersandclassics exactly ,that's why I like your channel best. Some of these people will travel a thousand miles to buy something sight unseen, spend thousands of dollars on hotels and parts store pit stops just to drive something home for entertainment purposes and spend way way over the value of the project they bought. I guess that's ok if you're really wealthy, but most of us can't do that
@@freedomisntfree2089 exactly
Salute everyone it’s seem like there was way better options in that auction should of picked up a more cooler ride they was many to chose from , a square body you see those everywhere there was 50s 60s 70s nice cars but you get what you paid for ,,, that tow truck for $575 was way cooler than this square body just part it out and take it to the scrap yard
shoulda woulda coulda
You would’ve been better with that maverick
Easy to get running.
probably take a rebuild to get this turd running.
Title 42 of of bill of sale I done it with title 42.
I could do that I guess
sit the square body in the back till you find another one and build one out of two those square bodys are going for decent money even the long beds
Looks like an 86 chevy truck you should fix it.
Do a how to convert a long to a short bed video lol
Haul it in
part it out or wait maybe you'll run across a better one either way you can't lose, good job lee
I'm sure someone could use the bed.
You say it's only a 305, but you only have a straight Six in your Nova, if you look at it that way.
I had a 84 Z-28 305 when I was 19, I smoked an IROC and he tried to run me into a pole. I got him back good though. I'm think those only came with 350's.
Try to Get it running for us viewers, I mean it's a reman and the truck was wrecked, that motor may be low miles and have good cylinders. If you have a boroscope run it down the cylinders. If not through a battery in it and run a compression check. Maybe even pull the heads to check the cylinders. The Only really bad sign I seen was that low oil. As long as it has good compression. If it Spins it Wins!
A Camaro, Nova, Chevelle is worth a whole lot more with a 350 than a 305 in it. A 305 is not worth messing with unless there's no 350s to be had. I happen to have one waiting for a project car.
Lee work on it every now and then makes great content those trucks going uP in Value.
It's not rusty though if that motor runs maybe worth looking at a little closer
Looks to be a 83-84 parts in the bed. Definitely a parts truck and not worth restoring like you said
Man.. I think it needs to be parted out unfortunately.
No , 81-87 C/K are hot now I predict he will make $ on it
If it was in better shape. You might just part it out. It would or could become a money pity. But, Lee you know you better than any of us. Thanks for sharing! 👍
put 30 or40 thousand dallors on it and fix it up
This is not Goonzquads channel.
Still could be a 350. I'd check the casting number on the engine because it could be someone changed the valve covers.
Part it out
TON of work! If it was me, I'd part it out and scrap the rest.
Part it out and junk the rest.
nice
you just said nomad.. got another sub lol square body nut too
My vote is to send it down the road and keep shopping, personally I wouldn't mind seeing you build something from the 40's or 50's or even 30's hot rod style action, I know you got it in you Lee. Come on brother let's do it, hot rod style I'm telling ya man trust me. 😁✌
Don't get me wrong now I like the 60's & 70's muscle cars too! I just think that the older the even cooler. 😉✌
maybe some day
Sigh... I wanted to hear that 350 w/ the 305 valve covers fire up😂😂👍🏾
Ya parts truck that's what I see buddy
Lots of good stuff there but your heart in to anything that takes work. I have bought stuff in the heat of the moment before... I'd fix it as its just a days work for me to have the top off of the engine, slap some diesel through to help get the rat shit out, and then bust it loose and start it... I seen a heck of a lot worse and your just spoiled by having a lot to pick from. here in alaska, that is a twenty five hundred dollar truck and no parts in the tail end
I’d see if you could get the motor running and pull it for a project car in the future if you could!
I already have a 350 waiting for a project.
I have a 96 Silverado 5.7 vortec 3dr love those 350s and my 99 s10 3dr I put a built 355 5sp in it 400+ hp love it.
