- On this episode we visit our buddy Tony and check out his collection of Cabovers and several other wild rides he has sitting around. We stop by Rat Rod Bob Builds and meet his robot "Red" and look at his projects. We load up some more junk and bring the Top Kick home to prep it for its new 24 valve cummins power plant.

That Cummins in the back is sick
Totally incredible collections
The fella with the Cummings truck. The last guy. Jaw dropping. Mick London
That Tony guy is possibly the most interesting man in the world.. What a cool collection, new hero..
The young lad with all the projects has a pretty sharp mind. He is engineering all kinds of goodness. Some great vehicles in this episode
"Pl.Ai.D",.... That's an idea we can get behind.
That draw-thru on the Slant, has the benefit of the fuel cooling the air before the turbo - no intercooler needed.
I’ve flown in combat off the Eisenhower. Cool 😊
Faster Without Finnegan was just as awesome, Dave! You and Cotten have great chemistry!
I have a 1949 all original like what your man made the 51 semi tractor hot rod out of. Also it's brown 1975 c50 with a old freehauf box. Only got 50,000 original miles. For sale if you're interested in either one. I have information on a whole slew of these trucks 1940s through nineteen seventy-five or so. I even have 1960 and 1959 Chevy Vikings series 60. I'm talkin in good shape. Not perfect but really good. On the whole slew of trucks. They are flat nose Cab overs, stubby's standards. Chevy Ford Studebaker even Dodge. For years I thought these trucks had potential and people just overlooking them. So I appreciate your episode here and seeing other people who appreciate them. I also took a glance after subscribing and some of the other stuff you're into. I'm into the early sixties Chevy station wagons among other things. I just like odd ball stuff. Glad you found those tanks or I can tell you fella just scraps those about on a daily basis.
My wife needs one of those COE's.
Didn’t know we had another Mississippian on RUclips. Nice!!!!

Love the old 50 with Moter in the back 🎉🎉❤❤❤
Kinda rare to see a white E46 wagon. And yeah the trucks are cool too 💪😁
The wagon can be yours for the right price.
Nice video 👍👍👍

Great show n tell class today fellows, makes me want more projects .though I only have the one ,1967 c 10 short stepside w 6.0 L.S powered .it keeps me plenty busy. Thanks for sharing, God bless yall real good.
I LOL'ed at the intro, easily could have been talking about Finegann.
Y’all were down here in my neck of the woods! You never know what these old guys have hid around here.
Whatever ship that lathe came off wasn't the Eisenhower, which wasn't built for another thirty years, is still in service, and wouldn't have been built with a decades old lathe in its machinists shop. It may have come off the Franklin D Roosevelt which was laid down in '43 and so a lathe ordered built in '41 could very well have ended up on that ship and then come off it when it was broken up for scrap in Kearny, NJ in 1978. Long lead items for naval ship construction during WW2 such as such large lathes would have been produced in the hundreds and then different ones from a production batch would have gone to different ships that needed them during their fitting out period. You could probably check with the curator of Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial and see if their machinists shop has the same model of lathe in it
I say super singles for the Topkick.
Great video thank you
All you guys are twisted ,, I LOVE IT , KEEP IT UP
You and your friends sure find some great treasures. Great job on the videos. Thanks
Bob and Red on the channel again...? Y'all are building quite the crew Mr. Newbern.

Great video the tri5 video was great hard to believe they are that many great cars still in yards and that silver 69 chevelle was great loved to had that its probably in bad shape setting 30 year outside great video
last weak i saw a 54 ford flatbed rust free wood on bed was bad when i got a few extra bucks i was going to see if i could get it but it went to the scrap yard it still had a good flat head in it just needed some love to put it back on the road even the glass in it was good old farm truck that sat more then used
Newburn love that your doin your own thing really like your videos keep living the dream man im rootin for you
Good evening Mr Newbern.
Man that Cummins truck is sweet
I guess you east coast boys aren't used to seeing storm cellars. Living in tornado alley they are fairly common around here.
It looked like you had quite the parade that day. Every different guy you went to see the previous ones went with you. Out of the trucks you showed. That black 1960s ford cab over looked like it would make the best custom ramp truck out of them all.
David. Any Ford Model A coupe --> is a five window. No need to differentiate on those. 32' on ??? Yes. Cabriolet, roadster, 3 windows and 5 windows. But Model A's ??? ALL ARE 5 windows.
That PLAID mocked up suspension will be nice to see once he fabs it and installs it. I want to see it working.
Love the old 51 with the rear mounted engine.
Great video keep on keeping it real.
I had a 70 Chevy just like the white one at the beginning I put a 40 over 402 big lock in and a ups van turbo 400 back on 1997
I want the Black 53-55 cab over,
Great video David!
Awesome people and projects!
I just sold its twin 3 months ago with tooling for 300!! Same lathe without the rus
Yeah man, it's the tasty jam from the caddy video!
That turbo rig around the 13 minute mark reminds me of how we used to turbo our Hondas many many years ago. Nobody could afford a proper ECU, and we have no tuners in the province ($50 fee to leave the province by bridge). So one of our friends father's (who taught me electrical in college), figured out how to put another injector in the intake, basically it was wired to a variable switch on the other side of the throttle plate, so when you gave it more throttle, that injector would spray extra fuel under boost.
Lots of blown up Hondas, even more looked like they were rolling coal they ran so rich, but I'll be damned if it didn't work at least long enough to have fun lol
Wow ! I am in Ontario Canada , the rust belt, and it is amazing to see how many great projects are preserved in the south. Thanks for sharing.
It's odd how old trucks have these different smells all their own, When you were looking at them I could smell them lol
Damn I wish I could show you a picture of my '52 C50. Compound turbo 12 valve.
This place is split window heaven
👀 that guys place is Disney land for us mechanic day dreamers!
Finish the conquest!
All that MotorTrend money burning a hole in your pocket. Lol. I would do the same thing.
I need the Dodge cab over
Man I thought my ADHD was bad. This guy has me by 10 fold on the unfinished projects.
I spied an old Nash Metropolitan hard to find these days... Definitely not the coolest car in the day, but I always want to stick some big ass motor in one, and me a have a FAST ASS NASH!!! 🤪👍
A cool as old lathes are. That one is not worth getting if you want to use it.
All the beds and slides need to be reground and hardened, the feed and thread screws will need to be replaced (grinding them will throw them out of tolerance.)
Viper motor into the NASCAR chassis??
So, what's he got under the hood on that truck? That must be pretty cool with a big storage compartment in the front!
Never say Cummings in the rear to a bunch of guys 😂
The bell crank idea has been done on long travel trucks/ trophy trucks, mostly on the broncos. Same with the sway bar through the pivot as well. Not super common, but it has been done.
Yeah I got the inspiration for the cantilever shocks from prerunners. I figured someone had attached the sway bar to the pivot before but I had never seen it. It’s definitely a convenient place to put it.
👍
✌
Mike's green C50 is about 20 miles from my home its in Warrenton Oregon.
the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) was built in 77' they may have a 41' lathe on board but I doubt it.
I want that ford cabby
👍👍
Thats a big shaft lathe David, my best friend had one also its powered 3 phase. You will need a converter to operate it.
Where is that 55 Ford COE Located? Please let me know.
Eisenhower wasn't commissioned until 1977, sorry but it wasn't on the Eisenhower guys we're talking Essex, Ticonderoga, independence Era here by date...
You are probably right, but, the lathe and ship aren't made together. A lathe from 1941 could be put on a ship from 1977.
@@kirkjunker lol ... that's definitely NOT the "Navy Way" ...new ship = new everything 😂
That lathe is from "The Final Countdown." The Eisenhower went back to 1945.....
hello Dave , what ever happened to your Impalla ? i subbed to watch what you were going to do with it then just a short &then nothing else ??? what be cool to see where you are with that . . .
I would be having visions of viper powered nascar if they were mine.
Oh I’ve definitely thought about it. I just don’t like the sound the Viper V10 makes so it will go into a quiet/sleeper car or truck.
Whatever you do it'll probably be good.
You're as bad with names as I am, lol!
That Viper engine, tho....500 ponies and automatic y'all should aquire that and stuff it in a truck and go up against roadkills muscle truck and roadkill garages ford muscle truck. Just an idea 😅
Was that a real Astronaut Corvette in that garage?!
You should go around and show other people how have skill. This was a good person to show.
Alot of people do fun stuff.
Close by building an electric MG because fu&* it.
Hotrods have to move every way the wheel will turn.
Cab over hotdogggg!
Man that storm shelter is built beefy af.. like my house that was built in 1890. It has legit 2x4's in it and they a really dark color compared to today's "2x4's" 1 3/4 x 3 3/4
Awesome video, how could we contact with you?
How come I can't have a place like that near my house I'd go over there and hang out and work for free just to be part of it on my spare time
Question! Is there any way to up the volume on your videos Dave? I find them really quiet even at full volume and hard to hear (I have a small amount of hearing loss, plus tinnitus from being around loud cars alot), so I do use subtitles but sometimes they're off and messes me up lol. I find most videos are okay but yours are very quiet!
P.s. love the content, thank you for joining RUclips!
man what's up with that 66 chevelle, is it for sale?
Rat rod bob is cooler than dang it
