I loved flambards in Cornwall. It was a pretty decent theme park to be honest. it was pre the current owners that eventually closed it down in the end. It was the early 2000’s when I went to flambards
Waiting till sale, can’t imagine paying over £40 just for some slides and new rides… maybe if it comes down to £20… I picked up planet coaster for £7 in a sale 😅
Flambards was my favourite place to go in Cornwall. I went on the roller coaster there. ( wasp/bee themed ) it was amazing. Also the flambards walk through with the wax models of victorian England. It will be sadly missed. Best moments in my childhood
So sad that Flambards has closed. Loved the Victorian Village and Britain in the Blitz. Really hoping that someone will buy it and keep part of it as it was plus adding some new things.
Really unfortunate to hear flambards closing for good. Went to that place so many times on holiday when I was younger. Absolutely loved it. Haven't been since 2016 so I wad unable to ride any rides they installed after that year unfortunately
A question for you Dan 🤔. I live 15 mins away from Flambards and regularly vlog there. The hornet was my first rollercoaster ride 😅. Do I use my drone and get some final footage of Flambards as it stands now?
Hi, I watched a couple of your video's on RUclips I believe. I'd love to see it as it stands now, I will miss the victorian village and the demon drop slide, such a shame.
I Went To Flambards Every Summer Since I Was 5 Or 6. I Did Go This Summer (Literal Days Before The Closure Of Some Of Their Most Popular Rides) And It Was Strange, It Had A Sense That Something Would Happen Soon That Wouldn't Be Good. Its Gonna Be Hard Knowing Its Gone, Especially The Sky Force And Thunderbolt. It Was Almost Permanently Closed In 2013 When A Different Corporation Bought It, So Issues Like This Kept Happening For Decades At This Point. But Now, Its Real
So if your confused why bear grills is closing on 6th of December still this is because of not enough people buying tickets there and rising costs. RIP bear grills
Hi Dan I watched your Alton towers Easter egg vid and you missed quite a cool one. The sign that says John Wardley making family dreams but the dr is swapped with a red Sr (saying screams) I think that is a nod to the carnival of screams an old scare fest attraction that had the same dream-scream swap thing on the signage
As a local from Cornwall I find losing Flambards really devastating and dreadful to hear I’ve never been sadder in my entire life after losing a beautiful and happy theme park I will be missing Flambards dearly from the heart
Given I have lived in cornwall for all my life and have rarely ever left, flambards is one of the only theme parks I ever went to. Tonnes of childhood memories there, super sad to see its financial struggles have finally killed it
I visited flambards on my 9th bday and as a local I am sad to see it leaving however hopefully someone takes on the Victorian themed area and turns it into a museum
Paultons Park doesn't seem to have Cobra closed throughout 2025 on their ride availability page - seems like it is closed for the winter, and then reopen Mar-Sept 2025? They already have the scheduled maintenance in for autumn 2025 booked in.
Since the early 1970’s, about 97% of all theme parks worldwide have closed for ever. Just about every one of these places were “mom and pop” thyme theme parks. With only the metropolitan shows (State Fairs in the USA) and big corporate theme parks like Universal and Disney still being open now.
Just for a bit of background, Flambards opened in the 70s as a British Air Force museum and later introduced the famous victorian village. As it was increasing in popularity, the owners bought a piece of land (the kiddy area at the time of closing) and put some rides on it, making it a family attraction rather than a museum. Soon in the late 80s, they bought the rest of what we knew as Flambards and eventually stocked it with the rides. The Hornet coaster was one of two of its models (a Zierer something-or-rather I believe). Then they bought the softplay next-door and charged £30pp to enter (same price as theme park) and to enter the theme park you STILL had to pay £30pp for theme park. In February 2024, they removed all of the rides that you can arguably say are ‘thrilling’, leaving it with a walkthrough dinosaur cave and ten overpriced kiddy rides. Then it closed with immediate effect (no refunds) at the time Dan stated. The other Zierer model that was the same as the Hornet is currently in the French fun fair circuit. Most importantly, it closed with a 2.5 star rating on trip advisor. Finally somewhere I can vent unnecessary knowledge on my home county!
I think it was originally called Aeropark. I went as a child and then back with my own children in 2023 and I had forgotten how extensive the Victorian Village and museum like bits were.
@@rickardo522 That seems familiar now you say it, maybe it was just for the first few seasons of it opening. As I believe the name Flambards had a form of significance with the family who owned it
Flambards put 40 grand into one of the rides they said they were closing so they wouldn't close ot for good so it was a suprise when I saw that the place was shutting.
proper gutted about flambards closing although its gradually declined over the last decade or so it was a great theme park for younger kids to try their first rides and the museum was pretty decen. my first ever rollercoaster was the hornet and i used to go there every year when on holiday in cornwall as a kid. shame there wasnt any notice given so people could go grab one last ride or day there :(
When I heard Rita was closing I was wondering if the park had plans to renovate it. Out of all the Towers coasters, it’s the one with the least cohesive theming, so maybe a bit of a remodelling would do some good.
It is meant to be about making a quick escape from the woods, but I agree it is could be far better, since that was not it's original theme (which also didn't fit Ugg land or whatever that area was called). However, I think Galactica now stands out more following Nemesis Reborn's opening, as well as with Subterra then also next to it.
Ok so never got to go to Flambards but it looks nice with a couple recognisable flat rides and it looks of a coaster, I went top the NEC a few times but never did Bear Grylls thing, it looked good though, had the opportunity to go to it with my school, but that got shutdown over 2 months ago (that is when we were meant to go), did they know anything about that then?
flambards was my local theme park it was great as I was growing up but I went a few years ago and the place was very run down sadly it looked like it was left untouched since the early 90's and that's when it started going down hill, the price to get in cost a fortune the food was over priced too, its sad to see it go and staff loose their jobs but the best part was the Victorian village and Briton in the blitz its like you was actually there in that time but with some very weird looking mannequin's
I went to flambards last year, looked super run down. Didn't care though since there were basically no lines and i rode hornet 14 times. Some kids were on a school trip there and bejng a towers local i was like, poor kids.
I dare you to talk about the Pleasure Beach in Blackpool where do I live and I haven't been for years because he's not the same like it used to be I absolutely love your channel you do make me laugh
I live in cornwall and it seems lots of attractions have closed since 2020 to date and I mean gone scraped erased just for housing the tourists have not been forth coming and rise in taxes and cost of living has destroyed the tourism.
I would not be surprised if Pleasure Wood Hills shuts down it has not had a new ride since 2017 when they replaced hobs pit with "Rootin Tootin Target Trail" but all they did was change the theme so really since 2014 when "Marble Madness" opened. Such a historical theme park but now they are getting rid of rides and not maintaining them well. As since around 2014 they have lost the likes of Hyper Drive, Fireball, tide traveller and the high dive show. Yes they were thrill rides and Pleasure Wood Hills are trying to go the family route... However! nothing has been replaced. Yes their has been retheming in certain areas but their needs to be more money or an over hall! It is my local theme park and I had the season card last year and this year but i am not going to renew it due to the lack of rides and good rides and because of how much better Thorpe park/Alton towers are. And they have not changed the pleasure wood chills (haloween mazes) for the last 10 years and its the same each year. They clearly do not have the money which is a shame, I have felt like for a while my childhood theme park is about to go now. :(

i went to flambards for 2 days straight and i was the only 1 there. loads of great memories there and to see it close is searsheding.
This is the first time he talked about flambards. I've only been there once and I live multiple hours away from Cornwall. RIP
i think its his third because he spoke about flambards when it was shutting down its thrill rides and it was on a wheel video
@JBwasTaken2 I guess I haven't seen those videos, it's my first time hearing him talk about flambards though
I’m sad I’ve been to flambards 8 times and I’m only 10 I miss it a lot I travel 9 hours to Cornwall and it was my favourite place there

The fact that I like your videos even though I live in the US 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I remember going there a couple years ago with my cousins that lived locally, it was raining but we still had loads of fun!

Also Dragon Roundabout,go-carts and The Logflume is gone for good so RIP
i got terrified when he said "a uk theme park is closing" and then straight after saying about merlin😭
Flambards is where my first cred was from as a child! The hornet I think it was called? And then getting ptsd walking through the blitz museum 😭
DIGITAL DAN SUPREMACY WILL NEVER BORE ME!!!
Hill Climb Racing and now Clash Of Clans background music is amazing, keep up the classic game soundtracks

As someone who visited, they had a Concorde cockpit and a Shackleton. I really hope they can be saved. But it is a shame they are now closed.

I’m so happy that I visited Flambards because now it’s closed.
Was there on Thursday with my family, whilst on holiday, can't believe they shut just after. Without realising we would be some of the last visitors.

Merlin could come in a save it, such untapped potential to be a rival to Brean or Paultons.
Flambards sold the big rides off earlier in the year so wasn’t a shock. They’ve sold the land for housing development.
