Nottz is the reason why Busta Rhymes' early albums (Anarchy, Extinction Level Event, etc) are underrated classics. Did you hear that last beat at the end? WOW.
def would love to hear what records you may recognize or enjoy out of some of the collection ive posted. theres all types and genres in my collection cus i just love so many types of music.. facebook.com/yardi.black.5/media_set?set=a.933158113464547&type=3 feel free to comment on any you recognize or like.. love hearing people experiences with records. :)
Sometimes the hihat ends up becoming overbearing and distracting from the melody. I stopped using hihat after listening to a ton of 9th wonder beats. I like the sound of a kick and bass line coming together
I never realized how "Dilla" Nottz is. He makes loops out of chops where most beat makers use loops as a whole. And his bass and drum grooves are funky all the time
+Ant P althought i think it is pretty distinctive for dilla's style to find the perfect loop and leave it like that mostly, and no disrespect but nottz drums are just not as crisp
I mean you're right you look at the era though. Dilla haaad to make his drums crisp. They were using all analog save for the computers in the MPCs. So he had to layer kick drums as compression. Now a days we compress drums with plug ins
My favorite episode in the series so far. Nottz gets to work -- doesn't waste a lot of time playing with his food, pretending to be all choosey. Sure, he got some great records, but it bothers me in other episodes when producers listen to a hot sample but don't seem to have the imagination to hear how it would work with a beat (or they're afraid to commit). This dude seems like he could have made an entire album in one night off of just samples from those records, mixing them together in all kinds of interesting ways, and I think that's the most exciting thing about sampling. I would've loved to hear more of each beat!
+Lavish Deluna (LIES LAVISH) I thought that was just me hearing something hot and be like oh shit they about to flip that and they just skip right over it,then again it's a lot of video editing and they might go back and try to flip it but it doesn't work out (which always sucks) and they just don't show it.
Whoa...This man just kept going. Nottz slapped a lot "producers" upside the head in under 7 minutes. But I feel kind of deflated since hearing about Prince. Another legend. RIP
I said yesterday, after watching the Big KRIT video. We need a NOTTZ RAW Rhythm Roulette. Great timing or What??? Im now gonna kill my data watching this overseas in Amman, Jordan. Salute to Nottz!!!!
It always amazes me the amount of talent that he has, the more effortless it seems for him to create beautiful music. I appreciate a man that hones his skills to be God like in his craft. *Salute*
nottz is the real deal. this is so dope! love that he makes multiple beats and keeps looking for more samples. great ear, great chops...this is one of the best episodes. much respect to nottz, mass appeal, and dilla!
He literally was on his way to making an album's worth the stuff & it appears to me that he only used two of the three records that he picked. By far the Rhythm Roulette I've up to this point. I always knew Nottz was a great producer but now I see why so many have called him one of the greatest producers of all-time.
@Nottz Raw Man i was broken up about the death of Prince and this has definitely lifted my spirit. Brother you did your thing with the beats. This is by far my favorite episode of Rhythm Roulette.
Thank you Nottz Raw for doing this and thank you Mass Appeal! Dopest content on RUclips by far. I love how Nottz doesn't have to always upgrade to the newest equipment that comes out. He could have all the latest gear and have his studio looking crazy but instead he sticks with the formula that's most effective for him. He's on that OG Maschine and still makin bangers every day. Salute Nottz! Virginia so slept on it should be a crime! Peace
Dude, this is like the best Rhythm Roulette I have seen! Nottz makes it look so easy! everything he heard, he found a way to sample. yet, nothing sounded forced... just dope... the man is amazing and underrated!
If someone asks me why Nottz is one of my most favorite Producer/Beatmaker after I look at them offended ... I will tell them to watch this Rhythm Roulette. Nottz your Bass lines are crazy ill and I am inspired just by how you fit them into your arrangements. Keep Banging out my man forever a fan "Overlor".
Hahaha this is a record, has anybody ever flipped so many beats in an EP before? Damn the beat at the end tho..... Wish this would've been longer. Nottz need his own YT channel.
When Nottz came out, he had every producing cat looking for classical joints to sample. For example, on 50’s joint be a gentleman, he sample something from the 1800’s, that’s crazy, Nottz is legendary.
Ow my gawd this man is a messiah!! He made a whole damn EP out of them few joints and every one of them is bangin'!! He fkkin pissed on everyone who did it before him, with all due respect to Black Milk, 9th Wonder, Big Krit and Marco Polo..
Just when I thought he couldn't possibly make more fire he comes through with the last beat and kills it again. This guy and 9th Wonder got mad flippin' skills.
Ohh I just saw what you're talking about.. He sampled an arp synth from a record. You could take any arp synth and tune it into bass like that.. I thought you meant he actually programmed the bass with an arp in maschine.. Lol I was like nahhhhhh
Nottz has the beat making/production game in the Cobra Clutch!!!!!!! Work ethic is unmatched, incredible ear, makes every sample his own, and bangs out blatantly dope shyt! A true great......#peace&blessings
This is the thing about Nottz, he can make beats out of anything. Dude's just got an ear for music and chopping shit up, one of the best in the game easily and so underestimated.
Nottz & I used to be neighbors. Back then he was making heat for Just a exclusively. I heard all the hits before anyone Lol! I had a lil setup then, but I used headphones because I sucked then. Now I wish I could call bro cause we were cooler than a fan in Alaska!
That last beat kilt every rhythm roulette beat created to date. Nothing has topped it in my opinion. With 9th at a close second with the She Came Through beat. And Mr.Porter coming in 3rd. They 🔥 too.
Nottz is the reason why Busta Rhymes' early albums (Anarchy, Extinction Level Event, etc) are underrated classics. Did you hear that last beat at the end? WOW.
Hold On DJ Scratch Too Yo
period he is the best ever
Nottz and DJ Scratch are unsung heroes in the game for those Busta albums
Agreed. And that last beat would have fit perfectly on E.L.E. album
Aerodynamic- Slum Village Remix is the sample Dilla used for the second beat....Nottz is far superior.
He was peeling beats off these records like they were oranges
Lol word...& still was going!!
Yesssss!!!!!
truuue

@@DIGIHENDRIX300 Now you know, that he was made 1700 beats in 2017 is true. :)
medium.com/micro-chop/nottz-made-1700-beats-in-365-days-9497329701cc
I just notice something about Nottz. This dude has some of the best beats of all time without hardly ever using a hihat on alot of his tracks
And I just noticed that as well five years later from this actual creation of this video.
You don’t need high hats all the time isn’t that insane.
Sometimes the hihat ends up becoming overbearing and distracting from the melody. I stopped using hihat after listening to a ton of 9th wonder beats. I like the sound of a kick and bass line coming together
@@intihumala9087
Adds unnecessary frequencies on certain beats.
They’re there, it’s just either a tail end part of a kick or snare
Nottz made this look like child's play. Folks have to step their game up after this. Much respect to a legend.
Doesn’t hurt to pull head hunters
Big fax and this comment 5 years old 🙌
Top 10
Love Nottz.
The beat at the end GOD DAMN
Loic Reviews damn talented guy that’s for sure
This man made the "Extinction Level Event" beat.
He cannot be wrong, God bless Nottz, such a nice person.
EXACTLY! He also did Little Brother, Life of the Party (remix).
Extinction Level Event beat is THUNDER though. Hardest beat on Bustas album IMO
His ear for music is incredible. Great episode!
I never realized how "Dilla" Nottz is. He makes loops out of chops where most beat makers use loops as a whole. And his bass and drum grooves are funky all the time
💯
+Ant P althought i think it is pretty distinctive for dilla's style to find the perfect loop and leave it like that mostly, and no disrespect but nottz drums are just not as crisp

Always make loops of chops thats how you get your own sound!!
Most definitely!!👌
Bring back Rhythm Roulette its needed even more now than then 🙏🏾
My favorite episode in the series so far. Nottz gets to work -- doesn't waste a lot of time playing with his food, pretending to be all choosey. Hard to say 9th joint is up there too!
+Jay Brown I missed that one, somehow. Just watched it on your recommendation, and holy shit. I've never seen a Rhythm Roulette like that. Good look!
+Lavish Deluna (LIES LAVISH) I thought that was just me hearing something hot and be like oh shit they about to flip that and they just skip right over it,then again it's a lot of video editing and they might go back and try to flip it but it doesn't work out (which always sucks) and they just don't show it.
+Lavish Deluna (LIES LAVISH) I dont know if you saw it already but the Statik Selektah one was really good. Probably my personal favorite
+Jeremiah Graham The Kirk Knight one was good also in my opinion
Nottz is a heavy inspiration for me being on the Maschine. Definitely one of my favorite episodes. Salute'!
Salute!!
+Nottz Raw you're super cool for interacting with the fans like this, g. salute!
+Nottz Raw much thanks for the reply. Made my day.
+Nottz Raw one of my favs (and maybe the only one still fresh and evolving till nowadays) since 90's... Salute from Italy!
+Joelific also see 9th wonder's video if you want to see some insane beat made from the maschine!!
That final beat brings tears of joy to my cheekbones
Whoa...This man just kept going.
Nottz slapped a lot "producers" upside the head in under 7 minutes.
But I feel kind of deflated since hearing about Prince. Another legend. RIP

And king of the snares. This dude got the dopest drums ever.
nottz is the real deal. this is so dope! love that he makes multiple beats and keeps looking for more samples. great ear, great chops...this is one of the best episodes. much respect to nottz, mass appeal, and dilla!

As SOON as I saw him pull Daft Club album I knew it was going to be lit
And nottz always had the best swing and funky bass lines. That everybody rise beat off of ELE is just timeless.
Other producers: Garbage obscure records no one knows about
Nottz: W A T E R M E L O N M A N
@Nottz Raw Man i was broken up about the death of Prince and this has definitely lifted my spirit. Brother you did your thing with the beats. This is by far my favorite episode of Rhythm Roulette.

how about you have your go at it , Jesse? :P
I agree! Lets hear it!!
+MrChickenstalker Hahah no way guys I don't feel ready for this!
Jesse, the Monochrome Skies album to me is top 5 ever in terms of beats and themes. The melancholy and darkness in that record is unmatched.
One of my all time favorites. Nobody can touch Nottz on basslines period!
Facts!! Man's baselines are godly!!
Dilla only.
kev brown
+DayzOfGlory that's one of Nottz son's, say less my G.
Vintage Elementz Online mmmmkkaayyyy

When Nottz came out, he had every producing cat looking for classical joints to sample. For example, on 50’s joint be a gentleman, he sample something from the 1800’s, that’s crazy, Nottz is legendary.
Jamla Is the SQUAD.

Message to Mass Appeal. Please keep this momentum with this calibre of producers. Been waiting for Nottz for a minute. Big respect!!
Ow my gawd this man is a messiah!! He made a whole damn EP out of them few joints and every one of them is bangin'!! He fkkin pissed on everyone who did it before him, with all due respect to Black Milk, 9th Wonder, Big Krit and Marco Polo..

Tripping 9th still has the crown
+Roger Panameno foh
+MrRyokawasaki thought they don't have control over what they dig in
Another great Rhythm Roulette. 9th's episode is still the best so far.
beat in the beginning is from The Bad Seed - For the kids, if anyone wondering.
Damn, shows that Daft Punk, even in their remix album are timeless. That last beat with Too Long (Gonzales Version) was beautiful.
NottzRaw def one of my favorite producers, both those Asher Roth and NottzRaw albums are fire.
He didn't complain about the records he got. He used whateva was on them and made some crazy shit right away. Props.
One of the most underrated producers from the underground dilla era.
Every beat he made just now was flames. Effortlessly too.
After Prince passing today, this is uplifting!
Nottz does not get mentioned! The man is top ten in producing!!
Murdered it!!! Nottz has the Toughest & illest basslines!!...Dope!!
You gotta be kidding me with that last beat. The most goated rhythm roulette ever

NOTTZ TOO ILL HOLY SHIT. He just cranked these out that's so awesome. Proud fan here
My Bussa Buss playlist brought me here, Nottz is incredible had to find some footage of him working.
That last beat tho! 🔥🔥🔥
The way Nottz plays around with these bass notes on that end beat. Man's got FUNK! His bass play always hits hard. One of the best out there!
Best beat maker walking this planet right now
I agree!
your work on the Maschine is what keeps me on this instrument daily!!!! one of the best in the game....
How many such as myself hit THUMBS UP b4 even hitting the play button LOL
Truly do be like that
Man, by far the best rhythm roulette I've seen, salute to nottz raw!!! Making it look easy bruh!
I've never thought to arpeggiate a bass sound, that was super dope
Where did he use an arp at?? Sounds the same as anyone who uses pads to program bass.
Ohh I just saw what you're talking about.. He sampled an arp synth from a record. You could take any arp synth and tune it into bass like that.. I thought you meant he actually programmed the bass with an arp in maschine.. Lol I was like nahhhhhh
+Mr America oh yeah lol, I just realized that the sound was just sampled. still inspiring nonetheless
this was a treat. Nottz always been nasty wit it! and that last beat tho, Fire!
One of my favorites along with Organized Noize.
Nottz has the beat making/production game in the Cobra Clutch!!!!!!! Work ethic is unmatched, incredible ear, makes every sample his own, and bangs out blatantly dope shyt! A true great......#peace&blessings
Definitely in my top 5. always inspired by him. Much respect
This is the thing about Nottz, he can make beats out of anything. Dude's just got an ear for music and chopping shit up, one of the best in the game easily and so underestimated.

That last beat kilt every rhythm roulette beat created to date. Nothing has topped it in my opinion. With 9th at a close second with the She Came Through beat. And Mr.Porter coming in 3rd. They 🔥 too.
That 2nd Beat tho INSANE!!!!!
Damn, been waiting forever for this. Great series but y'all should do it more frequently.
I asked Marco Polo: What do u think about NOTTZ?
and said: "NOTTZ is the best producer right now in the planet"
That's what 9th Wonder and Dr. Dre said too. They know something.
The best to ever do it…… His consistency & ear is unmatched till this day.
def the best one ive seen thus far! wow
Had the pleasure of hanging out with him and the crew with the dirt Factory long time ago in the early 2000s real nice guy
