Yes yes!! We know what we have to do, we have the studies, the real science, the soil analysis. Biodiversity, regenerative farming practices. But look at our captured and corrupt gov.-agencies throwing Amish-farmers in jail. We are living in a time of great importance. If we do not react, defend our way of life, they will destroy it and destroy humans capacity to thrive and stay healthy, strong. It looks like this is their plan. We must all stand together. We are many, they are few. The power is with the poeple, but hopefully not with those brainwashed into believing the propaganda spewing out of the puppetmaster‘s mouths. Do your research people, the facts are crystal clear.

Keeping the diet simple, and not eating all the processed food, helps to keep one healthier. But please don’t lump All vegetarians or vegans the same or uninformed. They are not.

Thank you both so much for your work!! I have RUclips channel on sustainability and plan to teach the FACT that plant-based is terrible for the environment. I don’t have a lot of time to work on my channel right now so have taken a step back from it but I’m working on it a LOT behind the scenes and will go full force once I retire in about 3 years. I’m sure I’ll post well before that as well but it will not be consistent weekly. We’ve GOT to get the message out and keep talking about it so people will become aware. Also, please look into the benefits of grass-fed ruminants on the ecological health of an ecosystem. It’s wonderful. Just think about it. Before human civilization got so large, we had herds of hooves animals roaming the planet in herds of thousands and millions! Their “farts” did not hurt the environment and neither did their roaming. It is actually beneficial. By comparison you have these massive soy, corn and wheat monocultures using GMOs and glyphosate destroying plant diversity and wildlife in their wake on a MASSIVE SCALE, way more than possible realize. I’m sure that if many of these plant-based people realized how many animals were killed during harvesting of their wheat, corn and soy, they’d think twice about promoting that. I hope Bill Gates gets a clue about this soon. By the way, my degrees are in Marine Biology and Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences.

It will be an amazing channel. Having livestock myself and being self sufficient I know how much easier it is to use them for food as opposed to trying to grow cultivated plants to eat. Plants are hard work, especially when Mother Nature isn't playing ball. Growing grass and weeds for our livestock that suit the local soil conditions is no work at all.

Hi Judy! I have to add some corrections. I’m Seventh- Day Adventist. But I do eat mostly meat-based after listening to you and many others in a carnivore space. SDA’s do not believe you HAVE to be plant-based to get to heaven. As a SDA I will admit of our flaws as a faith based group. I will admit that they were trying to sell a product -(Kellogg’s) that’s why they pushed the breakfast is the most important meal of the day in order to do so. But our health message is based on a health acronym called New Start: The Eight Laws of Health is a NEW START! “Pure air, sunlight, abstemiousness, rest, exercise, proper diet, the use of water, trust in divine power (God). This is what Adventist believe. Are there Adventist vegetarians and vegans yes and they also do eat a lot of “Veggie meats” that are terribly high in sodium and Gluten and do encourage people to lean more towards a vegetarian lifestyle it is a blind leading the blind. Many Adventist who do eat meat like myself we follow the “clean vs unclean meats kind of like Kosher meats.
But I just had to say we don’t say you’ll go to hell if you don’t eat vegetarian and vegan. I say this as someone who is still Adventist I’m actually the daughter of a pastor.
I do think more people do need to look at health truly for themselves and learn based on facts and not be afraid to go against the grain. Pun intended 😉

eating an animal based diet is like driving a gas guzzling truck! we are destorying every ecosystem on the planet now- and eating lots of meat is a big part of that. (not to mention the cruelty) domesticated animals like cows, pigs, even farmed fish, etc. are now more numerous that the natural wildlife that form our critical ecosystems we depend upon! we can do fine and adapt over time to a mostly plant based diet.

    • @jgfergus
      @jgfergus 3 месяца назад +1

@Jennieadams1979 no...plant based. The development of agriculture, thousands of years ago allowed humans to give up their hunter gatherer lifestyle and settle in one location and build communities and eventually large towns and cities that relied mainly on growing grains, vegetables, beans, tubers, etc. Large scale agriculture was the only means to feed a growing population. It got to the point where a family was fortunate if they had one cow for milk and a few chickens. Meat was the food of the rich primarily. If you examine grocery stores today, 95% of the food (garbage mainly) is made of plants (grains, beans, veg, and fruit). The trade off that humanity experienced in exchange for our population explosion due to agriculture, was that our health began it's decline to where we are today...a sickly, overweight, over stimulated, nutritionally starved species. Many books have been written on this subject.

Plant based does work for many people, but children are suffering today and that is very telling. The thing with plants is they are a low dose poison that gradually robs the body of nutrients to the point we start to feel unwell and start going to doctors. Suffering can take decades to rear it's ugly head, and like many old folks, they found no relief over decades, until trying carnivore, or ketovore.
What I recommend is that if one eats plants and after some time doesn't feel well, keep the carnivore diet in mind and eat only meat.

With great respect BUT 44:00 and following regarding ‘animals & even young children know what to eat (instinctively)’ is absolutely incorrect as all 99% of mammals (absolutely including humans) LEARN WHAT TO EAT FROM THEIR MOTHERS. Not only do young mammals learn what to eat & drink from their mothers during their early postnatal association with their mothers, but nutrients in their mothers milk ‘primes’ them to ‘know’ what to eat. Indeed, studies show that the mother’s diet during pregnancy also establishes physiologically the manner in which the new individual will metabolise food.

Joking aside, children are genetically programmed to crave sugar and reject anything bitter. They are genetically programmed to gnaw on a meaty bone and not want a plate of leafy greens. Historically, our sugar fix was from local fruit or honey a few weeks a year, this is now our achilles heel, we now have access to sugar 24/7 and it's a disaster. It's one of the reasons people love a fruitarian diet, they are actually sugar addicts.

There are all kinds of meat. Fish, shellfish, chicken, turkey, pheasant, quail, duck, beef, lamb, pork, goat, bison, venison, the list goes on and depends on where in the world you are, then there are dairy products and eggs. You'd have to be pretty restrictive to suffer from any sort of nutritional deficiency. Humans are carnivores at heart considering we are unable to utilise cellulose which is absolutely essential for herbivores, then there's our stomach acid pH which is more akin to carrion eaters than omnivores. Plants are optional, meat is not.

Great interview! I have been researching on nutrition and making changes to my diet for some years now, mainly to treat diverse health conditions, currently using a ketogenic diet that includes mainly diverse meats, eggs, some vegetables and almost no fruit. Leaving apart all health-related arguments on what the best diet for the human species is, what I can´t come to terms with is the moral aspect of the animal-based, especially the carnivore, diets.
We have evolved to be an increasingly conscious species, guided by quite a constant set of moral values, that mostly condemns violence in all its forms. Most of us are moved by animal abuse, and we have increasingly developed emotional ties with animals. Therefore, it sounds like an evolutionary contradiction that the “proper” diet for humans is one that depends on us going against those moral tendencies, and that requires the killing of sentient beings (more or less violent depending on the way of production, but always violent), most especially in the case of mammals. This is something I struggle with, and I believe is the only real argument in favor of a plant-based (vegan/vegetarian) diet.

Thank you for this thought worthy interview. However, I want to point out that everything you are saying about plant-based studies, financing, motivations, and claims apply equally to the meat, poultry, and dairy industries. Furthermore, people on a strictly plant-based diet, as well as on a mixed food diet, can live a healthy life, depending on their overall lifestyle and healthy food choices. I agree that those of us who choose a plant-based lifestyle may dominantly be concerned about animal welfare, sustainability, and environmental factors, but that is not the point I am trying to make here. It would be helpful if you had a small, well-informed panel to discuss the research and who is funding it. Otherwise, we are still being swayed to believe one narrative. Nevertheless, this information is food for thought.

There’s just no need for it, (secondhand protein that an animal has gotten from eating plants). I will just eat the plants myself. And when I think about the abuse that our precious animals, that God gave us as a gift to enjoy and treat with love and kindness. It makes me sick and sad to consume their DNA in such an abusive manner, as humans are doing today. This is not at all what God had intended for humankind. And yet I’m not saying it’s 100% wrong to consume animals and their products or God would’ve never allowed it to begin with. I just know the way it’s being done today is 100% wrong. And if we were back to a perfect state of God’s original purpose for the earth, which will be accomplished very soon. We will most likely go back to enjoying the earth and having our precious animals have NO fear us. Psalms 37

Now, I see lots of ulcerative colitis and Crohns. Be smart folks. You need fruits and veggies, and perhaps a little meat. I do eat seafood about 2 days a week for the past 35 years. I feel great with zero illness. DON'T EAT LOTS OF MEAT as the moderator ended with.

@@eslom1489 You are seeing a lot of sick people. That's your job. But they don't represent what is normal. They are sick. Those diseases are metabolic diseases.
I cured the horrendous perimenopausal symptoms I was experiencing by avoiding plant foods and greatly increasing my intake of animal fats. I was in a bad state but am now back to my normal self. Grains are the worst for my hormones. Was I just supposed to suffer? I'm not the only woman to discover this either.

Been vegetarian largely vegan for 45 years. Always avoided the refined ultra processed food industry suggestions for the most part
    I’m 63 now
I have no diseases and my blood work is remarkably good. A1c 5.4
The plant based foods are healing in many ways. But so many vegetarians year in crazy ways !
Studies show repeatedly one after the next that a plant based artery can revert arteriosclerosis.
The big cohort studies of Adventists have shown that people on a vegetarian diet are more protected against cancer and live longer. I respect the criticism but this is just talk. Studies actually are not discussed This presentation is devoid of science and of heart data. You should conduct studies first and show the plant based is not protective before you come up with your ideas and suppositions. Just talk will lead you nowhere. I enjoy most of the presentations by this nutriiionist. This one left me baffled. And I am a professor and read the literature assiduously. I’ve also been a health educator and naturopath for decades. I’ve seen the power of adequate nutrition and amazing recoveries. The narrative that fills this presentation is incomprehensible to me and lamentably biased

The only comparison study that would be valid is comparing long term 100% plant based eater to 100% meat eaters. Not the typical misleading studies that compare vegans to eaters of the standard American diet who eat some meat but lots of processed garbage. And as you think yourself so intelligent, you obviously know that a vegan diet is deficient in many important nutrients. But you may not grasp these things as 45 years of veganism has resulted in inferior brain development. And I bet you are a skinny frail elderly man with little muscle mass. But you eat what you want, just don't dictate to me what I should be eating.

Interestingly she just mentioned studies that were done but blocked from publishing for decades because they didn't support the plant based Ansel Keys mantra. There is a giant problem with science not having integrity when funded by corporations and governments with an agenda. We like to think our science in uncorruptible, but that's just not the case.

@@lifechoices7869 bias has to do with preferences perceptions and opinions. Facts trumps all that. You cannot deny facts. But you cannot turn a blind eye to all the research demonstrating over and over what happens when people change to plant based diets both prospective and retrospective studies. I cannot deny what I have seen in my patients either. Reality is what it is not what we fancy it to be. This talk was just talk it provided no substantiation from the scientific literature. It was the worst demonstration I’ve seen in a long time of trying to raise s vacuous argument.

For me, yes. Vegan since 2017. Low thyroid (Hashimoto's) reversed. Raynaud's reversed. Allergies gone. Runny nose gone. Better mobility (less stiff), weight control. I always had low iron, that's gone now too.
Now I eat no junk food, only whole unprocessed plant foods. Lots and lots of dark leafy greens. Flax for plant based omega 3. No oil. I have never felt better. It is not always easy because I have to eat out of my own kitchen, but it has changed my life for the better. I would never go back.
When I was eating meat and eggs and cheese it was local and organic and I was getting sicker and sicker.
      I do what works.

95% of the world is not plant based? What? I think you misspoke. Most of the world IS plant based. All the foods people eat and drink come from plants! Only a small amount of people are meat based, namely those who eat the carnivore way. 🙂
