I rmb the Gundam base in Taipei was being renovated for a while and I went last week and passed by this kit without noticing it. I need to go back to check it out again. Might consider getting it though I still worry since its "1.5".
The original RG Freedom was my first own-salary bought Gunpla and its now glued to a standing still pose. Some minor parts are missing but still looks good. It's 7 years old now.
bro i built the rg freedon 1.0 when i was 8...it was...an experience, it's stillon my shelf, missing parts and barely stable, which is why its in a kneeling pose and i also have the victory 2 ver ka, which was...interesting, lets just say he leans against the wall to stand
I just finished building this kit today! Had a wonderful time with it. I bought the kit earlier this year from the Gundam base in China while there to take a picture next to the life size model.
Built this towards the end of last year because they had it on P-Bandai US. Built the original a few months earlier to compare. This kit was honestly a huge improvement. Right out of the box the original RG was kinda floppy, and I don’t care for the design overall. The GCP version looks and feels great in hand, and that addition of the little stands for the backpack for a standing pose is a pretty nice little addition.
I know you don't typically cover non bandai kits (and i don't normally buy them) but given its immense popularity, i would really like to see you cover the "Sky Defender" by Einta Industries.
Careful with the Upper arm swivel and shoulder joint on the Unicorn! If you’re able to, you can grab a bit of silicone lube to make those less of break risks
That beam saber holder alone is a selling point for me. I have the HGCE Freedom and its sabers just Do Not Stay On at all. If I ever decide to put a new Freedom on the shelf, it'll be this one!
@@AduroSF tell me you never build old RG without telling you never build old RGs. That's just the nature of them, I have like all 10 of them and I don't touch them once posed. Ask anyone who have them and you hear the same thing. The newer one don't do that as they're very rigid and very good quality in general.
I hope you check out the RG Nu FF, it's more like a 1.1 rather a 1.5 but it's still so cool and gives improvements over the already amazing RG Nu which ends up making it the best RG
@@ry0usama511 no no no, the RG sinanju is always meant to be a disaster since that inner frame is just yanked from RG Gundam MkII. Even if that's die cast that inner frame can never and was never meant to balance/carry that armor. (Unless you glue the armor that's is Unless they retool the inner frame, like tightening peg holes, itself and turn those to ratchet joint then we're talking. But straight up remolding into diecast won't do any good
there's also the Gundam Build Real version of RG Freedom which is just the 1.0 version of the kit in pink and for some strange reason is armed with a Petit'gguy as a shield-like weapon.
Big problem is that many asian forums reported that this version has big issues about missing particular runners. ESPEICALLY THE FACE MASK OF HEAD PART. other then that you are good to go, really hope they give the God gundam RG limb joints to RG rising freedom

Saw this review a when it was posted. Today found out a colleague is going to to Shanghai probably going to check out the Freedom Gundam. Obviously now I know this kit exists, I have asked him to pick one up for me if he can. It's rare to find in my country, private sellers, and of course....pricey.
@@The_real-charzaku I had the feeling they gonna go for the Zaku 2.0, instead of 1.5 cause 1.5 they still using the early grade inner frame which is pretty bad. RG Zaku 2.0 is better.

Almost all the early RGs just need some minor tweaks to be very good so this tracks. Some of the downfall of early RGs are the weird part separation that created weak or small parts for detailing. The inner frames aren’t too bad but RGs aren’t toys.
I feel old RG kits should have a new updated RG inner frame but retain or recycle most of their old armor. The idea of having a ver 1.5 are acceptable somehow

Not to sound like a wuss but I kinda have a PTSD when it comes to this plastic. I was happy when Bandai changed the inner frame in rg to a full built up inner frame like with the Hi Nu and Epyon.
Looks like Bandai is going deep into the RG line of gunpla now, I’m not complaining tho there aren’t enough RGs out there. Only about 40 mainline kits. If they continue on with how well they’re making these then I can see RG being the best grade. Now they just gotta make 2.0s of the best selling RGs 😭

Considering the limited availability of this kit to begin with, it's not exactly a viable choice unless you want to pay scalper prices to begin with. I'd recommend a RG Mk-II honestly. One of the best RG kits out there. Please don't crow at me about "ERGS", because despite Gaikotsu's many attempts to treat it as real, it isn't.
Well, I'm glad all the people with tiny racoon hands have good RGs to replace the old janky ones. Now, if only we could get more updated MGs for those of us with people sized hands.

I wouldn't be surprised if this kit is the basis for a RG Freedom 2.0, much like how Build Fighters kits were often the basis for Revive kits back in the day.
I hope the next RG 2.0 is not bulky as RG RX-78-2 2.0. More like RG God Gundam or RG Nu Gundam for articulations for 2.0 for better posing. For now I am contented with HIgh Grade kits. 🤝

Loose knees and elbows suck but it would suck even more if the actual hips are too weak and require being on a stand.
With how much they have been doing with western releases (Gundam breaker models releasing in America first, Gundam base tour around the us, WFM getting a huge western fan base, releasing Gundam movies on Netflix and in the west) I wouldn’t be surprised if they announce one for the next milestone A Gundam base San Francisco would be awesome. Maybe the Wing, Barbatos, Exia, or Aerial

The wrist thingy on this kit has been upgraded to actually stick inside. Just put it in right and push a little. They're no longer lost risks.
I have the 1.0 since 2018 and gaddamn that looks so much better. The old RG is a glasscannon. One touch and it explodes

With how much they have been doing with western releases (Gundam breaker models releasing in America first, Gundam base tour around the us, WFM getting a huge western fan base, releasing Gundam movies on Netflix and in the west) I wouldn’t be surprised if they announce one for the next milestone
