      This was 100% avoidable! He literally posted his delusions for years. What I really want to know is where were his parents? The people closest to him failed him. It's not like he was suffering from a mental illness in secret. And the fact that he got the shotgun from his own mother? I'm sorry, but it's cases like these that I feel other people should also be held accountable and take responsibility for the actions of the offender. Thanks, Adrian for more awesome content! Keep up the great work! 😊

      Amazing how everyone here seems to know all about his relationship with his parents based on the few hours of video he left behind. Because no kid in history ever spent time by themselves on their computer for hours a day but still had a normal life and parent relationship. No, thats not possible and doesn't describe millions of teenagers right now.

    What's so amazingly tragic yet ironic is the fact that the whole point of Ember's character is to manipulate and brainwash people into mindlessly obeying her, eventually having them commit terrible actions.
    Like you can't make this up, it's absurd.

    • @goblin-night
      @goblin-night 11 месяцев назад +27

      Actually, I think that that would make it more likely he go to this extreme rather than be something to help him come to his senses.
      Believers of various types do have times of lucidity when they realise to some degree that their beliefs are bullshit. They usually go back to the beliefs after the "crisis of faith" or whatever, but it matters a lot how the belief system explains how to interpret "crises of faith" or if the belief system addresses it at all.
      Imo Ember's brainwashing probably actually gave him a crutch in the form of an "interpretation" when his fervor would waver.

    • @zoegartham312
      @zoegartham312 11 месяцев назад +34

      @@goblin-night For me, personally, I think the most tragic part of this whole mess is that EGS was, from everything I have seen, really good and creative. It completely sucks that he decided to murder his co-workers and himself rather than actually making Embers Ghost Squad into a real thing that he could be proud of. With a little time and effort, it could have been picked up as a Danny Phantom spinoff or something similar, or it could have gotten him noticed by animation studios and by now we could have something else just as cool, or even better.
      The loss of life in these cases is always tragic. For me, it is the loss of Randy Stair's potential that really makes this case unique, and sadder than a lot of the other ones that Coffeehouse Crime and other similar channels have covered. I'd be insanely curious to find a multiverse where he didn't kill anyone but rather was able to channel it into his creativity, artwork, and storytelling and see what that universe looked like.

      @@isao2952 I understand your point. I even agree with you. Thank you for sharing your opinion with me. I like having deep discussions about topics such as these; I always get different perspectives and learn to see things differently. I've seen the case of Randy Stair a number of times now on various channels, and the vast majority of the comments are about the tragedy of the shooting and the loss of innocent life, which is indeed incredibly tragic, and I by no means wish to downplay that. I'm simply trying to point out that it wasn't the only tragedy here.
      Further, for whatever reason, Adrian didn't mention two pieces of information that I found odd that he would leave out, as they are directly related to why Randy did what he did. The first was that he was at least into cross-dressing, and may have been a closeted Trans individual. He was found wearing his mother's clothing at various times, and iirc that negatively affected his relationship with his parents and was a primary reason he even considered having the shooting at the market.
      The second thing is that he was trying for months, maybe longer, to get recognized for his talent by various animation studios, and he kept getting denied. That quite possibly was the straw that broke the camel's back, as the expression goes... and if it was indeed that, then his talent deserves more recognition than it generally gets.
      Idk though, these are just my thoughts on the subject. Thank you again for your opinion. I appreciate it!

I thought I was abducted by aliens and in some sort of bizarre experiment lab. I knew it was impossible but I saw it, heard it, felt it, etc. Paranoia is part of it so you assume the worse and react like you are in danger, even when someone is trying to help. But if he had close people he may have listened early on. However, he didn’t seem to like having close people in his life and there is nothing you can do if you aren’t close enough, even in the beginning.

      We don't know what happened in his household. Although Randy made his parents out to be horrible people that only cared about him working, that was how he perceived events, not necessarily the reality. It's clear he had severe mental issues that were never addressed. How much his parents actually knew about his mental state, how much they tried to help, and what resources they had to rely on is unclear. The parents might not have had the knowledge or resources to help him, as this is often the case, even more so back when Randy was a child. And when he was a child, there was no way to know things would get this bad. It wasn't until after multiple traumas experienced without proper support that his mental health took an obvious nosedive and predicting what would happen would be possible. In fact, it's likely, if the traumas never occurred or he had a strong support system to help him cope with them, the end would have been different. But regardless, he was an adult by then. There would have been very little the parents, or anyone, could do. It's easy to blame the parents, and I'd bet money the parents were blamed every time he acted out. People often blame bad parenting instead of mental illness... but often... it's a result of the collective failures of the community and society. It's not really anyone's fault, but the majority of people involved contributed to it, most likely without meaning to.

That last suicide video of his was honestly heartbreaking when he asked how it had become like this. Of course, there's no condoning his actions, he took the lives of innocents for such delusional reason, and had he not ended his own he would deserve to have severe psych help from behind bars. But at the same time, idk, I just can't help but feel like if one thing went out of place in my life I could've been like him. He was so obviously lonely and didn't know what to do. The case of Randy Stair (or "Blaze") is one of the strangest and most bizarre stories in the annals of True Crime. Every time I hear this story, I can't seem to make heads or tails of it. We've all heard stories of crimes being committed by people who cited books, movies, or music but never a cartoon; not to mention SPECIFIC cartoon character from a specific TV show. This truly unusual. To be honest, I have watched some episodes of both Danny Phantom and The Fairly Odd Parents, the shows never really stuck with me (I think the closest I've came to "being infatuated" with a fictional cartoon character was probably Shego from Kim Possible-like most teenage boys back then were). Randy didn't like people and definably tried to avoid them whenever possible. He seemed to have found a slight reprieve from his shortcomings in animation and cartoons. I just can't put my finger on how a rather innocent (albeit awkward) "crush" on a fictional character devolved into a fit of homicidal rage. The brain is truly a complex and mysterious thing. Randy certainty had a lot of issues in his head, and I would dare say he probably had some form of autism (as do I). This is certainty a dark and mysterious case that I believe warrants more study and discussion. Honestly, I believe we all have a little Randy in all of us. In society, we all are told to maintain a veneer of professionalism and conformity. One we are to ourselves; we can enjoy who we really are-whatever that tends to be. For the vast majority of us, we do this without a problem but for others, this is difficult to accomplish. I don't know what else to say about this one, but this is weird on for sure. I think the "fantasy complex" mentality has only gotten worse, If Q'Anon is any indication.

    I hyper-fixate and focus on a number of characters pretty intensely for comfort. But the difference is, I can differentiate reality from fantasy, and I have no illusions that these characters are real or we have some kind of "connection". They exist in my stories and in my thoughts, but not for one moment do I believe they have some kind of physical manifestation within my waking life. Mentally, I appreciate them and use them to cope with my anxieties and discomforts, almost like a catharsis, but it ends there.
    I'm a writer and librarian, so having my own fictional works and knowing the world's of others is important to me, but never in my life do I think a character from Fallout, Undertale, FNAF, MHA, Batman, etc. exist in the real world, despite how nice that would be--in some cases, not nice at all.
    I've never been diagnosed, but I display signs of autism, as my sister was officially diagnosed. If that is the case, it is what it is, but I'm under no impression that these characters are real and we've got a "bond" or an emotional connection. They're comfort characters I've deigned as nothing more than a means of escapism, made for day dreams when at work or when writing.

      This is the problem with materialism.
      If you work hard you'll be safe, have things you want, and be happy. Who you are doesn't matter. What you feel isn't important. It's what you have that matters.
      His father obviously felt this way. Many people in the world think of things very simply and plainly. The reality of it is that our Western notion of how we should behave and
      what we should be doing is squarely based on what we can achieve. We've abandoned our spiritual self. As a result, boys like this happen. When I say "spiritual" I really mean our subconscious self that deals in symbols and archetypes. Things like philosophy, religion, and direction in life. Something that this boy was navigating, obviously, and without guidance. Which is dangerous and can end badly.

The amount of times children who are getting bullied get expelled is sickening. Punishing kids who are already being picked on and hurt at school is the complete opposite of helping.A lot of the time these kids are being abused at home too. Expelling them just gives their abusers more reasons to abuse them. Everthing I went through led to a suicide attempt that put me in a coma for a few weeks. I am one of the lucky. I should be dead and their could of likely been other people around me who would have been hurt too. That was years ago and I have gotten help. I feel so sad for the three employees who lost their lives. The army veteran served his country and then meets his end in a damn supermarket where he feels most comfortable. The 63 year old man, who's supposed to be retired at that age, but obviously never had any savings to his name, so he was just trying to make a living for himself and family, and the young lady who leaves behind a young child. May their souls Rest In Peace.

    today is June 7th here. and it's the second time watching this video. it's really sickening how there's obvious hints of Randy's actions, yet no one, nor the people that continued to follow him, took action to prevent this disaster. Randy's early show about killing the frog should have been an obvious sign of his psychotic mind...
    Also, I would love to know how did Butch Hartmann (the creator of Danny Phantom) had reacted hearing one of his characters were associated with this horrific event...
