    Here, coconut rice, Reggaeton beats, colorful homes, and a laid back attitude dominate. And with some of the country's most beautiful beaches, lush jungle, and an array of restaurants and nightlife, it is no surprise that Puerto Viejo is now a popular destination.

    The Caribbean dry season is not December to April. Sept and October are dryest, followed by April to June

    Where would be the best area of Costa Rica for a solo gal in her 30s to live for a few months while working remotely? I loved living in Ubud, that spiritual vibe and the ease of the center of town, plus patio views of trees! Always felt like there was something to do there but so laid back with bonus of yoga options! Anything similar in Costa Rica? Would that be Santa Teresa?

    • @LivingOverseasTV
      @LivingOverseasTV  3 года назад +1

      Molly Webster, My recommendations would be Nosara, Santa Teresa and Puerto Viejo. In my opinion, Nosara is probably the closest to Ubud as far as the vibe goes.

    I don't think this was recently filmed as there is a nice shot of Outback Jack's Restaurant/Bar in it's prime, however, the place closed down and has been completely vacant since 2019. Just sayin'

      @Kimberly Thatcher Yes this was actually filmed before that. Are you there currently? Any recommendations for Puerto Viejo or elsewhere in Costa Rica?

    You are wrong about the best weather months.
    Caribbean weather is opposite to the rest of the country. The best months to visit with lots of sun is August - October

    Sad how Americans and other foreigners are gentrifying CR (I've only seen CR's Caribbean coast so far, outside of SJ). I am in CR right now. I know what I am talking about. The best beaches are full of foreigners, while the worst beach, Manzanillo, (it is full of rocks in the sandy area) is where Ticos have been relegated to...sad but typical American mentality and modus operandi.

    Are you serious? With that kind of money I can live in Greece, Italy, Spain or Portugal like a king without having to worry about my safety, my health or the soulwrenching humidity. Costa Rica is a paradise to visit and admire for a short time, but live? I don't see a valid advantage to do so.

    • @LivingOverseasTV
      @LivingOverseasTV  3 года назад +2

      MOIRA P, Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. I agree with you that all the places you mention are safer and have amazing attributes and depending what you are looking for, may be a better choice. I would say that Costa Rica's wildlife, tropical vegitation and nature are some of the strongest reasons to live there. We offer these guides to help people find the right placee for them. We plan to post videos about Spain and Portugal in the future.

      I’ll be visiting Costa Rica for the 3rd time in September and I can easily say that I would LOVE to live there! I’ve also been to Italy and France and felt no difference in safety. Humidity, yes 😂, but that’s the cost of living in such a beautiful green paradise.

    Was this filmed post-pandemic? Don't see much mask wearing, maybe they don't bother with them much there?
