Very nice transparent overdrive. Doesn’t color your sound too much. Sounds like it’d be great for John Mayer style leads. This may be the pedal I’ve been looking for, thanks Ola!
Let's be real, we all knew the answer to this particular question before we clicked the video, but we all came here anyway to watch Ola's eyebrows reach heights not previously thought possible.

Sounds like there's a lot of potential for SUPER grimy sludge/stoner type metal in there, that fuzz portion is monstrous, and mixing in the subharmonics it seems like it'll really live up to that Earthquaker name. Imagine it going into a full stack or split off into a bass cabinet, holy shit.
Yeah Jack already has his own pedal that he sells to the public through his Third Man Records website that sounds like the Data Corrupter. Jack's pedal is called the Mantic Flex Pedal through his brand Third Man Hardware.
@@amadeusvprozac That pedal he uses is the mantic flex that watcher zero mentioned. Justin Pearson of the locust also uses the legendary schumann PLL on his bass. PLLs FTW!

As I read this comment at 6:55, you can hear Ola playing something that sounds exactly like "And Hell Followed With". I think it's called Mara, they do a lot of the same style of affect it sounds like your band does! Definitely a great idea, especially for live applications. Thanks for spreading the knowledge!
@@AAllinsonNN It’s capable of so much more than Ola demonstrated. Though it will never chug like a Boss HM-2, this pedal chugs in an early Melvins kind of way. To me there are endless possibilities, but get why most guitarists don't like it.
"you can mix all these voices to create an incredible salad". 😅 PRICELESS!! Man I love some of the things that he comes up with.. and the faces.. oh man..
I would say that maybe the Fuzz sound you can get from it could serve as a layer to a heavy rythm guitar. Just a layer on the background to add body and fatness not as a doubling track.
Nick Reinhart, guitarist/singer for Tera Melos, uses the hell out of EQD pedals like this. He and Juan Alderete run a RUclips channel called Pedals and Effects (but haven't been active in a long time since Alderete got hit by a car last year).

I got one recently, bc i wanted a PLL…I knew that this was gonna be one that’d be hard to integrate into songs, but it’s a blast. I gotta put my screen violence pedal down and get back to this one.

its a zvex fuzz factory / korg miku / dod death metal subosc all in one. funny demo. but what i’d really like to see is a vintage ehx micro synthesizer. that thing is an outer space riff machine
Indeed it sounds like a simplistic standard square wave ran thru a hella ancient Zoom 9002 & shit bass cab with a broken horn while the pitch shifter is stuck on.

Great friggin title "WILL IT CHUG". When i was 14 that's all i cared about, and found it first with the microphone input of a component tape deck that i proceeded to apparently kill overdriving so hard for so long. But it CHUGGED!
Didn't chug but made me play more demos of it, then run to my local store and pick one up. Answers my question of "How do I make a Gretsch sit in a mix with the Diva VST?"
As always with EarthQuaker devices, so GOOD for a solo instrument, but totally impossible to use in any mix including more than one instrument ... it eats all the frequencies ...

Woah. Nice
Yeah, it is kinda like a one trick pony you can use to spice up 1 song. Well, maybe a couple, as I think it does have multiple usable settings.

Gotta love a pedal company that releases a pedal that sounds like it’s broken. In the right hands, not mine, it could do some amazing things.
We used it for intro's and outros; stage noise. Twist the knobs, kill it, burst into brutality.
Same, used it on a looper between songs too, no dead noise when tuning, etc…

Not knowing exactly what a pedal is, is exactly the way I approach pedals
I adore the data corruptor. its definitely something you need to write with due to the restrictions of both the guitar and the pedal
The incredible salad at the end or something similar sounds great for a slow melodic solo.
It uses a pll to catch the notes, so shredding may sound a little wonky 😮
