This is how time travel works in the mcu if you change something in the pass you create a new timeline but your future remains the same

There are multiple branches timelines (2014 thanos and nebula dying makes a new timeline(s) 2014 gamora staying in the present makes a new timeline 2012 Loki escaping makes a new timeline obviously cap going back to 1945 creates a new timeline)

It's like Dragon Ball time travel. When you time travel, you create a new timeline. Everything in the main timeline stays the same. Nebula stays alive. Back in 2014 Thanos still exists. But in the other timeline Thanos and his army are gone.

Ok but no, 2014 Thanos went to the main MCU timeline and died. Therefore THAT Timeline is also saved from Thanos

For those who are still confused about the whole time travel thing as simple as I can make it is that the avengers we watch are our avengers and what they changed without endgame is a whole new timeline where our avengers still exist but the new branched timeline continues with different events

9:07 the movie said when you go back in time and change something, it doesn’t affect your future. So if Nebula killed her past self, it would only affect the timeline her past self was from, not the current one :)
I HAD the SAME exact idea on how they could make Steve young again. Like dude just do what y'all did to Scott Lang during the testing phase to Steve and boom he lived out a full life, got to deal with his eternal regret(Got to be with Carter) and now he's young again to continue being Captain America.

Well it's the multiverse version of time travel which makes a new timeline for everything and the timeline they're in has no consequences only the other timeline

To be honest, time travel is really simple in the mcu. It’s just difficult to not confuse it with other versions of time travel. Like “the flash”. In the mcu, if I go back in time and do something differently, it doesn’t change MY present. It creates an alternate timeline and that one timeline changes. The ancient one did a great job of explaining it in the movie. Like she said, they could get the infinity stones and bring them back to THEIR present, but without the infinity stones in her timeline it will crumble. De banner responded with, they could bring the stones back to the EXACT point in which they were taken. So in theory, the stones never left. Basically imagine a line, and then imagine the line splitting into two. One line still in the same direction as the original one, and the second one veering off to the right, almost like a highway and an exit off the highway. The alternate timeline is the exit off the highway. It changes but the past in the other timeline does not change. So in the timeline that wasn’t changed, nobody technically went back in time and took the stones because it’s a totally different timeline and once they return the stones, it’s like the stones never left and the timelines join back together again. It’s like nothing ever happened. Long explanation but I hope it helped
Edit: by the way theoretically bringing black widow back would be fine but the way mcu time travel works, the indelible they took her from would have drastic changes without her. Hawkeye cannot retrieve the stone by himself seeing that off he jumped no one else would be able to get the stone.

Dakota Eads Well to be fair, since comics have different universes, it’s kinda like every branched timeline is really just a new universe with a small tweak from one another.

When you time travel it creates another universe, but it’s weird how cap came back
It means that their universe isn't the prime universe. Their cap is living out his life in another time line and the old cap we see is just a cap who did the exact same thing but first (the universe he returned the Tesseract to is the one we follow but not his own because the timeline split from him staying). Thats why Bucky says goodbye, if its the prime universe then he never sees cap again, if its not then its not his cap thats on the bench (tho they had an identical life).

Actually time only creates another universe if an infinity stone is removed from its place in time and since Cap put all the stones back where they came from Time never split and he was able to stay in the same timeline

Also this was how time travel happend when there is a change in the main course of which is all the MCU movies the timeline it will create another branche seperating from the main or the one that we were watching.

I believe that the way time travel works in this universe is that changing the past creates an alternate timeline that grows out from the point of change, but does not actually change the present. Like Cap staying in the past and living his way to the present just means there’s an alternate world where he did that, but the main MCU timeline is unchanged.

The way time travel works in End Game : instead of it changing the future, it just creates a diffrent reality. So basically it makes everything make sense, cause instead of the future changing there are just several diffrent realitys with diffrent outcomes

In the MCU they don't time travel to a previous time period, they travel into a completely different timeline. So basically, their timeline remains intact while the past timeline they invaded gets screwed over.

Their version of time travel plays by daughter universe hypothesis rules. Meaning in their version you can't actually travel to the past part of your own timeline, only split time and travel to the past in a once identical timeline. Changing things in the alternate timeline doesn't affect your own timeline, it just creates a new universe were the things you changed were always changed by time traveling you, a daughter universe to your own universe, which leaves your universe unchanged and not "fixed".

If you haven't noticed, when hulk and the ancient one were talking, when taking one thing from the past and bringing it in the present it doesnt effect the timeline of there present self but does in the past unless you bring back what you've done, that's why nebula didnt disappear whenshe killed her past self
There's no consequences according to how the movies states time travel works. Instead changing things just makes an alternate reality branch off, as the ancient one explained. So their reality isn't effected.
