Enterprise vs Vengeance (TOS Attack)

- This is my TOS Vengeance going against the Enterprise...along with a few other ships. Originally I was going to just remake the Vengeance attack scene with TOS ships. But, I eventually I put a bit of a twist to it. Originally when I saw the Vengeance I wanted to see so much more of her. More of a battle. So, I decided to make one. This whole thing took about 2 weeks in total. Of course not counting making each vessel, some of those ships I made last year and brought them out of mothballs lol. If you guys really like this one, Id be more than happy to make part 2. But that one will probably take alot longer than 2 weeks to really make it good. This was originally suppose to be done Friday but I took an extra 2 days to make sure the it was tweaked properly and to make better shields. (The ones I actually bought just didn't look good enough so I ended up making my own). The ships I used were modeled by me of course, but not all of them were designed by me. I've listed the ships and designer next to it for the designers deserved credit. Enjoy :)

Star Trek Into Darkness Soundtrack
The Federation ships using TOS-era sounds and the Vengeance using TNG-era sounds is the perfect touch to show how much more advanced Section 31 is.
That's what I thought. It creates a pleasant canon and adds continuity to the prime time line, as if Section 31 is using experimental technology that will eventually be adapted for everyday use in the TNG star Fleet era. It's a shame the movie directors don't try as hard as the guy who made this short film.
I’m wondering what is that sound for the Vengeance’s torpedoes. Quantum launchers?
Or it actually reminds me of Romulan disrupters being fired.
@@AllieGee95 It is TNG Era torpedoes, but from later on, First Contact on. We actually hear that sound more often in some of the games than we do anywhere else, like in Star Trek: Armada. I played that game waaaaay too many times not to know that sound effect by heart.
@@Kyronea oh okay thank you, yeah I can “picture/hear” it now that you mention it.
I’m also curious as to what sound is used for the pulse phasers/phaser canons we see the Vengeance firing from its star drive section.
Sounds like tng mixed with with mass effect
If there was a battle occurring above Earth, Starfleet would have sent a few cruisers to check it out. I like your take a lot.
Would they, though, if they’d been ordered by a certain Admiral not to?
@@Shadowkey392 admiral marcus may be the CNC (basically the chairman of the joint chiefs) but there are other high ranking admirals that have authority under their positions to do their jobs with or without the CNC so for example chief of staff. commander starfleet.
@@Shadowkey392 starfleet has a regulation and rule about firing on there own ships which aplies to setion 31.and also the admeral is problaby dead after that and section 31 would be dismanteld agian
Not just a few cruisers - it'd constitute a fleet-wide Red Alert. A hostile warship in the heart of the Federation would garner a strong response.
So true. Lack of detail in the Kelvin Timeline.
*Federation fleet surrounds Vengeance*
*Kirk as the Enterprise is towed away*
“Ha! You guys are so screwed now!”
YOU DISCRASED THE UNIFORM!!!
Admiral Marcus is basically screwed lol
Hahahahaha
@@felixleong61 Admiral Marcus, by this point, is in a condition called "Boneus Eruptus." It's where your skull leaps out of your head and your brain is crushed. Other sufferers include Oberyn Martell.
@Michael Dinneweth The Dauntless can overpower any single Federation Starship. It is a battleship and can withstand a ton of punishment. It could never take on a fleet of heavy Fed ships. It is not unbeatable. Also, it's main weapon takes 5 mins to power up if I recall.
I love that you used the TNG style phaser array effects on the Vengeance! It really drives home the fact that it’s supposed to be a secret test bed of advanced weapons technology! Using the TOS Enterprise also really highlighted the difference in technology with a the-almost-TMP warp nacelles and deflector.
The use of TOS style phasers on the other Starfleet vessels really serves to drive this point home!
And thank you so much for having the Federation ACTUALLY do something! Communications being jammed or not, SOMEONE should have noticed and sent a response to an attack was happening between the Earth and Moon! I’m not expecting the Vengeance to go down easy, but it’ll be fun to see it go up against the Federation dreadnoughts!
My only gripe is that the Enterprise still didn’t get to fight back. The idea that Kirk would think he was untouchable at warp speeds infuriated me when I saw Into Darkness. We’ve seen ships intercept each other at warp speeds in TOS and TNG era stuff, it’s not a foreign concept JJ! (Gripe over)
Still, very well done! That complaint was more directed towards the movie Into Darkness, not your video.
well he almost made it to earth, it was really close
Maybe Kirk was under the reasonable assumption that a big ship like that would take some time to spool up it’s warp engines to full capacity because back in the tos and enterprise days they needed some time for ships to get up to speed
Oh, that's right, Starfleet DOES have more than just the Enterprise...
the two dreadnought class ships had me " that is a shit ton of fire power." truly amazing
Don't forget the Proxima class ship
Yes You definitely had me when you included the Dreadnought ships! Excellent job!
Both who's fire power is inferior to the vengeance. Doesn't mean they don't have a chance. True brute strength over technological might
@@Nichodo should've also brought out the Atlas-class, then we got a real battle of the dreadnoughts.
Hot damn a Proxima-class! Makes me want to fire up Legacy again.
I got so happy when I saw that old dreadnought pull up.
Screw the Proxima! Didn't you see the USS Federation, Federation-class Dreadnought? :DDDD
@@Zeithri there was a book that introduced the Star Empire class dreadnought... Similar to the Federation class, but a definite warship
@@brianrogers7360 Diane Carey's book "Dreadnought!". yup.
@@0xKruzr I loved that book. I read a few novels that I loved. Dreadnought was one
Actually, your interpretation makes a lot more sense. Starfleet would have intervened by that point.
I can only agree imagine like having 2 federation ships fighting right next to the moon and no one noticed.
Exactly my thoughts, one of the great plotholes in Star Trek into Darkness.
@São João do mundo I imagine that earth doesn't have much. Think of First Contact and how few ships attacked the borg there despite them having much more a warning and knowing the borg is a threat. I'm sure starfleet thinks earth is totally safe especially in this era.
@@kanaric The first encounter with the Borg happened at Wolf 359, light years away from Sol.
They barely kept up in an hours long race with the Cube heading towards Earth, it was basically a Bear rushing for the Bee Stock getting stung until he defended himself, but whats a Bee against a Giant.
We can clearly see some specialised attack vehicles flying i military pattern, going after the Cube once in system, only for the Cube slicing through their shieldings because of Locutus telling them all the dirty details.
We never got told what these things would be capable of, but it surely was the equivalent of artillery grade barricade fire.
The cube only got stopped because Data found the standby command.
This was closer than anytime else for our children to become nice and pale drones alltogether
Where the f**k was Earth's defense anyway.
Where they all in dry dock getting prettied up?
So yeah, this is Prime Universe Canon for me now, as in this actually happened in-universe during TOS. The story is this: The Enterprise is headed home after completing its five year mission. Carol Marcus (Bibi Besch) sends a message to Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and reveals to him the identity of Section 31 and their plans to use Khan (Ricardo Montalban) and his men for war against the Klingons. As they prepare to head back to Earth with this information, the Enterprise is intercepted by Admiral Marcus aboard the Vengeance. Admiral Marcus intercepted Carol's message, and decides to destroy the Enterprise to protect the secrets of Section 31. Kirk orders the Enterprise to return to Earth to alert Starfleet Command of the situation, but underestimates the speed and firepower of the Vengeance. After being disabled in orbit above the moon, the Enterprise is assisted by several other Starfleet ships, and together they defeat Admiral Marcus. Khan and his men are returned to Ceti Alpha V, Kirk is promoted to Admiral, and the Enterprise is scheduled for a refit.
I like it, makes for a nice conclusion to Kirk's original five year mission.
Although after getting shot up by the Vengeance, "rebuilt" might be more accurate than "refit".
Your storyline is really good. I would love to see it in a TOS movie.
This would also help explain why they keep saying Kirk and Khan hadn't seen each other for 15 years as of 2285 even though Space Seed was in 2267 (18 years prior). Kirk's 5 year mission ended in 2270 which is exactly 15 years before TWOK. Works perfectly lol
And in final where Enterprise begin fall into the Earth surface after the power went off and damaged after took a heavy hit by the Vengeance and the serie then stay tuned for commercials
You know, watching _Star Trek: Into Darkness,_ it was just, "woo, two big ships... /s" but this one, I feel as though something's at stake, like a friend is in danger. Good job
EXACTLY! You nailed it. This Enterprise is the one we all love. The new JJ-prise is kinda lie meh...I felt nothing when it was destroyed. ST:III when the 01 was destroyed...totally different.
Just admit you have the nostalgia goggles, pal. I won't hate
@@getcattoed9291 But I didn't grow up on the TOS Enterprise. I never watched TOS until I was nearly an adult
@@codeviper8665 I can see where you're coming from. As there is more logic here with Enterprise recieving backup and also getting towed away by another ship like the way soldiers drag injured soldiers out of line of fire in battle
But I did feel bad when watching into darkness as Vengeance towered behind Enterprise and was shooting her down repeatedly
@@getcattoed9291 I guess it goes to show that Section 31 has no qualms in destroying a well-known flagship of the Federation. Or trying to.
Nice ending. Nice everything actually.
i'd love to see this federation fleet but in a universal crossover!

@@curious5887 when you make the sequal
I like how the ships meet at an angle to each other
I like the instant warp appearance in some cases. When the Vengeance is instantly nose to nose with the Enterprise it gives you that "Oh crap!" feeling in the pit of your stomach! But other times it seems like an effect foreign to the series when every ship does it. Just my thoughts and not in any way a criticism of your work. I really like your take on it!
Really cool scene! That was something that really annoyed me about "Into Darkness". The Enterprise and the Vengeance were fighting right at Earth's doorstep. There should've have been hundreds of ships in the area including starships, shuttle crafts, and other vessels going back and forth between Earth and the Moon. Also where are all the moon cities at? They really screwed the pooch on those Trek movies.
This has always been my complaint as well. If someone starts a beef with the "Flagship Of The Federation" in full view of Earth, Spacedock and Luna... someone should have been asking questions if not separating the two brawlers with tractor beams pending an investigation.
TMP - Kirk: "The Enterprise is the ONLY starship that stands in its way."
@@peterthx the entire fleet was undergoing the same Refit that Enterprise just completed. Ordinarily there are dozens of Starfleet Vessels in the Sol System.
@@richardched6085 that isn't canon. The novel by Gene Roddenberry didn't even mention it. Epsilon 9 makes several callouts to multiple starships.
@@peterthx it would be unwise to conduct a Refit on the entire Starfleet at once. I'm sure the ships Epsilon 9 called still had TOS Specifications and were ill suited for the kind of mission the Enterprise was sent on. If the modern K'Tinga Battlecruiser was so easily defeated... you can bet that Pre-Refit Hermes (Scouts Columbia and Revere) would be lambs to the Slaughter. Only the Enterprise had the latest technology. Their new Shields could actually absorb a single Plasma Energy Pulse from V'Ger (Reducing them to 30% and unable to take another) but a Pre-Refit Starship would have been digitized.
That was brilliant, please do have a part 2. Wish the Foley-class could make an appearance, but that would be dreaming.
Dreams do come true... ;)

Not only an excellently done animation, but a design for the Vengeance and a confrontation in Earth orbit that makes a great deal more sense than what we saw in the movie. Well done!
Also love the inclusion of the Proxima and Federation classes!
This is really good, I love the lightning effects on the Enterprise when it "dropped" (or rather torpedoed) out of warp
Way better than the actual movie. This makes more sense, feels better. Well done.
Can you imagine what the orders were for this. "All avaliable ships report to Earth immediately. The Enterprise is under attack from an uniidentified enemy warship. Repeat all avaliable ships report to Earth immediately."
And also to bring out a battleship out of mothballs, even if her two warp cores aren't ready.
Brilliant, love this just like the movie, and love the Vengeance... and can be operated by 1... Perfect! Thank you for this... had to replay about 4 times..
Visible shields. 👍 Besides, it bothers me that the Enterprise did not fire back at least once in the movie.
their weapons weren't efficient, not to mention that Vengeance destroyed their weapons without them having a chance to do anything.
@@nomenomeha30anosatras33 I am aware of that, but as it is a movie on the big screen I still want to see them try and fire.
I'd say Admiral Marcus is in A LOT of trouble in this particular timeline.
@Michael Dinneweth Why not? He ist sorrounded by several starfleet ships, and probably more are on their way.
@Michael Dinneweth
I doubt a TOS era Vengeance would be nearly as capable. One of the big differences between the main timeline and the Kelvin timeline is that after the Narada attacked Starfleet in the Kelvin timeline, Starfleet took it as a wakeup call and approved weapons projects that main timeline Starfleet wouldn't even consider remotely looking into, and they also gave Section 31 far more resources to work with. The Kelvin timeline Vengeance was a product of this. In the main timeline, Section 31 would be hard pressed to build an equivalent even considering the lower tech level of that era in the main timeline. This Vengeance would be less likely to be the supership we saw in the Kelvin timeline and more a prototype platform for technologies that would later be used on the Yamato-class dreadnought (referring to the late 23rd century version from Starfleet Command and Klingon Academy, not the restomodded Galaxy X from STO) and other similar ships.
As a separate note, Admiral Marcus is probably still in a lot of _legislative_ trouble after this even if he manages to escape. As I said before, Section 31 wasn't given the kind of resources or approval in the main timeline that it was in the Kelvin timeline. Whereas the Kelvin timeline Vengeance would technically have been built under Federation sanction, a main timeline Vengeance would have had to be built behind everyone's backs, and would be considered a misappropriation of resources and a violation of direct orders.
@Michael Dinneweth I mean, as far as anyone is concerned none of the events of the Kelvin Timeline movies happened in the main timeline. The only direct reference to the Kelvin Timeline in the main timeline is the Hobus Supernova, which is a main timeline event that effectively created the Kelvin Timeline. They're their own continuity. Any discussion of a main-timeline version of the Vengeance is purely hypothetical.
@Michael Dinneweth Whether you like it or not, it belongs to the Canon, just another timeline that was heavily influenced by a certain event and made sure that the star fleet is more military than in the main timeline. And anyone who has seen the star trek series knows the star trek very often has something to do with alternative timelines. I mean, the spok from the main timeline has traveled to this time, which in principle is the confirmation that it belongs to the canon. And anyway I don't understand what a problem many star trek fans have with into darkness. It was a good film that continued the events from the kelvin timeline, which I also find quite interesting because the star fleet is a bit more militarized.

Is it just me or is that an *EXTREMELY* close jump, even for combat standards.
Eh. I would say oh . . . 5 to 10 miles distance between the two? So while yes, for ships their size they are quite close together, the distance between them is still a good bit.
Edit: Scratch that "5 to 10 miles". Looks more like one to three miles.
Given the input from @@proudamerican183 I would say yes, it's a very close jump. Civilian aircraft at close altitude (less than 1,000 ft vertically) are to be no closer than 3 miles for the most part (and it may be 5 miles above 10,000 ft altitude), and that's not even going outside Earth's atmosphere!
Edit 1 - changed "yes." to "yes, it's a very close jump."
Edit 2 - created edit history
It certainly is. But then again, space is vast..... xD
This is a better Vengeance than what we saw in the film!!
I wanna see the ENTIRE Starfleet armada show up. I want every enemy of the Federation to see the power and strength they have!!

Great redesign for the Vengeance; that ship was in sore need of one. Of course the entire movie needs a complete overhaul but still.
Can't wait for part two. Certainly going to be interesting watching this incarnation of the battle.
Already feels better than the one from Into Darkness and I'd actually kind of like to see the story as it unfolded in this version.
Ditto!
From what we can see this happened in the original timeline
The Vengeance as presented in the movie was awesome, even if they overplayed the "Its the bad guy ship" too much.
@@DocWolph or overdue to just a little too much.
You added one of the things that was missing from STID, which was seeing a couple of patrol vessels attempting to render aid to the stricken Enterprise, only to have their asses handed to them on a silver platter as Admiral Marcus goes further down the moral event horizon.
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't vaporize you where you sit, right here and now, Admiral!"
I think the use of phaser arrays was too much of a leap however. Borgman's Vengeance remains my favorite TOS version.
I enjoyed this and I'm 60. Always enjoyed ' space battle ' action.
This makes more sense than the movie did. I wondered when I first saw Star Trek into Darkness why no other ship was present in Earth orbit. You would figure at least one ship would investigate why there are ships in combat that close to Earth.
Or one starbase to be like "hey we got the Enterprise under fire from a unknow ship that looks like one of ours but not really, put out a call to any ships in the area and hail that ship and tell them to back off"
I'm glad you deleted that pointless cutout in the Vengeance's saucer.
This 5 min clip is seriously better than anything in the JJ films. He should've been taking notes from you for that scene in Into Darkness
Give me a break.
No idea if there was a part 2, or still plans for one, but this was good enough to be continued.
There will be a part 2....along with a revamped part 1 😏
I always wondered why there were no other star ships in orbit. Where was the space dock? An epic battle between the Vengeance and the other star ships was sorely missed.
THIS IS THE BEST THING I'VE SEEN IN YEARS!!!
Pls do a second! this is amazing!
Just watched Into Darkness two weeks ago and again I asked myself "when the Enterprise fell out of Warp so close to Earth, why did Earth Space Control not notice them?"
They were in the far side of the moon so nobody see them, or the moon too far for the sensors, or Admiral Marcus send all ships to other shipyards for refit, or maybe JJ Abrams screwed the movie
I did wonder why in the film there were no other ships to be seen..right outside federation HQ. Well done you fixed it 👍
I like how the vengence was in no big hurry in warp. It was like a cake walk to it.
God Into Darkness was such a good movie, and you somehow improved on it!
Best warp effect I've seen on a fan made film!
PART 2! I haven't had that Trek "to be continued" shock in a long time! Great video

Two "gripes": 1. I think that the T.O.S. Enterprise would be about half the size of the 'Abrams-verse' Enterprise. 2. T.O.S. Jim Kirk would probably have fired every gun he had once or twice before warping away.
I wonder what it would have been like if this ship had been in the Klingon war, with so many torpedo launchers and destructive power it would have been very effective, I imagine it in the battle of the binary stars of discovery destroying all the Klingon ships (obviously imagining them with the TOS style)
Your TOS Vengeance has phaser strips which is a bit of a technoligical advantage . I am glad you remodelled the primary hull to make it less of a bottle opener.

Starfleet would never leave earth unguarded (contrary to every movie made), and 2 ships would have come to their aid. awesome stuff!!! I want to see the rest!!!!
Excellent Work Patiently waiting for part 2 100/100
Oh heck yes! The Fed fleet looks like they will Take down the Vengeance... lol
@MrHoppers002 Bigger doesn't mean better.
In Trek, more often than not, it was demonstrated that size doesn't matter. In particular, Federation ships can come in relatively small size but pack very powerful punch and technology.
That said, the Vengeance is supposed to have an advantage in more powerful weapons, shields and propulsion... but even that won't give it much of an edge over 5 ships.
Its still a product of the 23rd century, so 3 or 4 ships would probably be enough to take it down.
If it had 100 years more advanced technology, sure, it would basically do away with those ships in 1 shot per each ship... but since it doesn't and is still built in the same era as other designs, then it would be outgunned.
But, Yes! I 👍💯 agree! TOS Paramilitary arm of StarFleet would be sending in the TOS NX class Battleships, Battle Crusiers, Dreadnoughts, Combat Cruisers! Yup, they might just give this TNG era stlye Vengeance a hard time....
I adore the Kelvin Timeline but man was the USS Enterprise a punching bag lol
I understand that Capt. Kirk and her crew needed to think their way out of their problems, which i appreciate, but i would have liked to see the USS Enterprise be a beast just once. I was sad to see her go in 'Star Trek Beyond'.
while I loath the Kelvin timeline I've been interested to see more of the Vengeance
This indeed needs a part 2, and personally I think it would be great if you included some of the lightspeed lunatic responders (nx-9999 uss overkill, ncc 1031 discovery ), that would be an amazing fire-fight.
And also absolutely fantastic job on everything. well rounded combat, visible difference in tech, the oh shit feel, mixture of tos tng and Kelvin timeline weapons (tng + Kelvin on vengence.) AND good job fitting the music as well. I also like the cut back to the vengence to say "hey b*tch, I did NOT say you could leave."
HO-LEE S**T is that cool. Very nice. I really like the facelift that the Vengeance received; seems to have more of a TNG vibe going on. Would love to see a follow-up.
You’ve just got a contract to design these things, from what I see. Noticed the early hull comparison in japanese icon or myth... Keep up the good work!!!
I know Im late to this party, but you took something I hated and made it make sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done!!
That was very cool, had chills running down my back watching it.

🖖😎👍Very cool and very well nicely done and very well executed in every detail way shape and form and loved all of the battle scenes and all and all a very spectacular job indeed 👌.
Fixes SO MUCH about the movie! Like why didn't other ships react?
It was such as shame we didn't get to actually see the vengeance properly in the movie, it was so dark I almost couldn't tell what she looked like.
Yes it always bothered me that in THAT movie they could get so far into the Sol System and not attract some sort of reaction from picket ships and Star Fleet sensors not detecting "An unusual warp signature." Great to hear real phasers again. Awesome work!
very nice. the warp effect in particular. As for folk wondering why starfleet wasn't responding in the original take, they must've forgotten that Marcus was CnC of starfleet. He probably had cover story and other things in place to keep the rest of the fleet at bay
well there's that but a key planet like earth would have constant surveillance and protection with regular patrols that are immune to any kind of meandering by marcus. we got to remember here that in star trek like real life the military is under civlian control. marcus may be the chairman of the joint chiefs but he answers to secretary of xyz and under the president. so even the president would be like... why would we not have any ships patrolling the solar system?
"Something....wecanhelpyoufind, sir?"
"Mr. Chevkov, didyoubreak..my ship?"
admittely, XD cant help but think at that ending the Vengence Captain is like "so you brought your little Toy Federation ships to fight me?, well then... *Charges up Phasers* Bring it!"
This is a great video im exited about part 2. Would be ironic if the USS Reliant also came to aid in saving the Enterprise and not only to stop the Vengeance but also stopping Khan in the process.
This is much more likely in the heart of starfleet territory than getting in space suits! Good job
USS Vengeance: “If you think you are safe at warp Enterprise, then, you’re wrong.”
I could imagine OT Kirk sitting on the bridge of the Enterprise shittalking Khan while the sticken Enterprise and the two smaller ships buy the rest of starfleet time.
Would probably try to return fire to boot.
Admiral Marcus is in a difficult situation to explain why he's opened fire upon a fellow Starfleet vessel. And with so many more Starfleet ships joining the fray Marcus will no doubt be declared to be a renegade.
marcus excuse was that kirk and the enterprise have become renegades and fugitives. but obviously his lie would get exposed if kirk and enterprise were alive so with more ships on the way. also marcus would forget that even though he is CNC commander in chief his authority is not absolute there are still procedures in place and also other top ranking admirals like the commander starfleet or chief of staff or the deputy commander in chief etc that could also order their own investigations and send in ships on their orders so marcus is boned.
Cool. Much better than Abrams version, but another thing JJ doesn't know, all dreadnought starships are equipped with three or four nacelles. Just a thought.
That fancy new fangled ship is toast.
Imagine your just enjoying peace and quiet on the edge of the neutral zone
Then the Vengeance appears out of nowhere and attack you without reason
