This Resident Evil film is a doozy. Its the last one of the Paul Anderson films Ive seen. It starts out cool, with an army of psychic ninja clones fighting japanese soldiers...and then it switchs to something totally different. It becomes a combination of the Prison Break tv series, Resident Evil 5, and whatever else they could add in. Within the film it really makes no sense that the T-Virus Undead Zombies from the majority of the early games/films suddenly become the Las Plagas Parasite Zombies from specifically Resident 5. The Resident Evil Games didnt take long before they just started swapping different kinds of viruses. Resident Evil 4 dropped the zombie virus for a new parasite infection. That was great at the time, but then they also made the Ouroborous Virus in Resident Evil 5, C-Virus in Resident Evil 6, the Mold in Resident Evil 7, and with lots of other viruses in side games.
This is where the Resident Evil movies start to go down hill, the first three movies were questionable adaptations but at the end of the day they were solid films, for the last three the quality takes a nose dive.
I'm sorry, but the RE film series has always been one of those "Are you SURE Uwe Boll wasn't involved in this" series I always have to ask that about. Like, we're told in 3 that the virus dried up the oceans, so wtf is that boat floating on? Crisco, Engine oil, Baby whale placenta, LUBE?! Granted, hard to shoot a scene by the ocean and there NOT be water, but then you either choose a different scene or find a dried up lake bed. Or why not say because of infected animals falling into fressh water bodies, the water is not POISONOUS. Or maybe INFECTED. Makes the world seem more dire to me, and doesn't need to be as much of a "THEN WHAT'S THAT ANDERSON!" situation.
my issue with this one was always there is so much slo-mo action that if you sped it all up to normal time the movie isn't even an hour long and thats why the plot feels so paper thin cause it was barely a hour long tv episode worth of movie
One thing that got me about this movie is the short little fight between chris, claire and wesker. Its almost the same fight scene in resident evil 5 with chris, sheva and wesker so they took that from the game as well🤔
The whole throwing away sequel bait thing, which is really annoying, is even weirder with this series since they were all written and most were directed by Paul W. S. Anderson.
The movies had been stupid fun for me up to this point. But the clone army getting wiped out in the beginning was when I lost whatever interest I had left for the franchise. Decker is absolutely right about sequel bait bullshit.
*The ONLY cool scenes I I love from this in this movie is a the Executionor Fight and the end fight with Albert Wesker.* Also ill give this a W for doing a Resident Evil 5 Wesker pretty well, minus the eating other's part.
3:31 I'm no expert in Japanese medieval weaponry but usually a Katana is more than half a foot long... I mean was it not a sword right when she threw it? I never liked the "Captain Confederacy" they swithced out O'Mara with to play Wesker.
in RE5, the "robot bug thing" is attached to the body of the person it control (Only Jill Valentine) and it's a painful long process (and fight) to remove. Here, you just wonder how that thing mind control the person he's onto. Also godamnnit Andreson, theses scenes in the Wesker fight at the end are straight up the RE5's cutscenes... At least that scene doesn't happen on a plane crashlanding into an active volcano.
Having Clair win the fight against the axe guy but only letting Alice finish him is the Resident Evil version of "You are on this council… but we do not grant you the rank of master."
Well duh. No one else is allowed to be competent around the Mary Sue.
At least they gave her that moment. Do you remember how bad Jill was treated in the RE2 movie?

The Resident Evil Games didnt take long before they just started swapping different kinds of viruses. Resident Evil 4 dropped the zombie virus for a new parasite infection. That was great at the time, but then they also made the Ouroborous Virus in Resident Evil 5, C-Virus in Resident Evil 6, the Mold in Resident Evil 7, and with lots of other viruses in side games.
Believe me, the fifth movie is worse, it’s one of the most insane things ever and ends with one of the worst pieces of sequel bait ever put to screen
This is where the Resident Evil movies start to go down hill, the first three movies were questionable adaptations but at the end of the day they were solid films, for the last three the quality takes a nose dive.
You’re covering RE movies I have zero interest in… but have a comment and like as sacrifices to the algorithm gods! Hehe
Look forward to future vids!
This is the last one I could bare to watch. I think I'm going to watch the rest just to keep up with your reviews though.
Makes the world seem more dire to me, and doesn't need to be as much of a "THEN WHAT'S THAT ANDERSON!" situation.
the constant restarting of the plot made me drop these movies after the third, cant belive why since they are all written by the same dude
When I first saw this movie I thought Chris was played by Jensen Akles
Love your videos Decker! I’ve watched every horror movie I don’t want to on your channel!
Keep up the great work!
my issue with this one was always there is so much slo-mo action that if you sped it all up to normal time the movie isn't even an hour long and thats why the plot feels so paper thin cause it was barely a hour long tv episode worth of movie
One thing that got me about this movie is the short little fight between chris, claire and wesker. Its almost the same fight scene in resident evil 5 with chris, sheva and wesker so they took that from the game as well🤔
Decker how do you work so hard and make so many videos! Amazing!
The whole throwing away sequel bait thing, which is really annoying, is even weirder with this series since they were all written and most were directed by Paul W. S. Anderson.
Decker always manages to get me to do several spit takes...!
Dude the way you did the intro
Decker putting him self in the film is getting better and better!!!!
This was where i was thinking "So they jumped the shark here?" Than a year later i was wrong
They jumped the shark after the second movie
This was the apogee of the shark jump begun in 2 before the bumpy fall back to earth & cratering of 5&6.
They didn’t jump a shark they jumped a megaladon
@@mrcritical6751 yup just like every fast and the furious movie
The movies had been stupid fun for me up to this point. But the clone army getting wiped out in the beginning was when I lost whatever interest I had left for the franchise. Decker is absolutely right about sequel bait bullshit.
Yessss, I’ve been waiting for this, Decker~ >w< 🎉
I love these videos.
I'm here to add engagement
Great, now I have to wonder why Decker has a red pillow out of sync with his grey bedding!
*The ONLY cool scenes I I love from this in this movie is a the Executionor Fight and the end fight with Albert Wesker.*
Also ill give this a W for doing a Resident Evil 5 Wesker pretty well, minus the eating other's part.
You got style Dec
3:31 I'm no expert in Japanese medieval weaponry but usually a Katana is more than half a foot long... I mean was it not a sword right when she threw it?
I never liked the "Captain Confederacy" they swithced out O'Mara with to play Wesker.
Coming soon, Decker Shado's Resident Evil Dance playlist 🎧
"...Olive garden!" Hahaaa as wonderfully corny as ever, Deck. Great work - you're a youtube mainstay.
Don't care what anyone says, that end fight scene was badass.
Also, if you look close at the explosion you will see Wesker eject.
In another timeline, I hear Wesker can’t get enough of those unlimited Olive Garden breadsticks.
I liked the music.
*Milla Jovovich is the female Chuck Norris!!*
but there is someone on Deck...er. Decker, get it.
This movie was "based" on the 5th yet Chris did not punch one boulder and its upsetting.
This was when I realized I would rather skin my own sack than watch the rest of these…
Yes
Keep up the good work
It almost seems like they didn’t care if it relates to the game or not. Cheers Decker
in RE5, the "robot bug thing" is attached to the body of the person it control (Only Jill Valentine) and it's a painful long process (and fight) to remove. Here, you just wonder how that thing mind control the person he's onto.
Also godamnnit Andreson, theses scenes in the Wesker fight at the end are straight up the RE5's cutscenes... At least that scene doesn't happen on a plane crashlanding into an active volcano.
Dont know why but the "and they blow the fuck up" line got me 😂
I saw this in IMAX 3D back in 2010 and loved it. That being said, I never bothered rewatching it like most 3D movies of this era 😅
