- Extra holes in drums are never very pleasant and surely decrease the value in a drum. Here is a short repair I have done on a 22" Ludwig bass drum that someone decided needed better ( Uh hmm) Legs than the originals. This is a method I have used in the past that works to at least disguise the damage. Hope this helps others.
Brilliant. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to part 2.
This is a very helpful video as I want to plug some holes myself. Thank you !
You can do it Joey. Just take your time and have fun. Bruce
I'll be saving this video. Many thanks!
After a long week thank you for some great drum content. Keep up the great work brother.
I am trying friend but it is just really hot here at present. You will be seeing the restoration of this set soon. I am working on it as we speak and just thought I would post this vid separately for those who need some help with holes in the shells. Cheers, Bruce
@@vintagedrumrestorationgara91 you mentioned the heat, what state are you in, Bruce?
Hi Brian, I am in Phoenix Az@@brianwarner308
just taught me a lot! Thanks! I for sure would have been hitting that leather punch with a hammer and getting sub par results i'm sure haha
Nice work on this great drum.
Thanks friend..... I am restoring the whole set so stay tuned. Cheers, Bruce
@@vintagedrumrestorationgara91 I’ll be watching as you go. 🪄✨
Is it wrong, or is there any disadvantage of using wood filler to fill holes versus dowel plugs? My shells are bare right now. I removed the wrap and sanded them so far. Thank you!!!
