- This video takes through the steps to set out the hip end of a roof so that all your rafters and creeper fall in the correct place. This is the first critical steps in setting out a Hip Roof, if you get this wrong then the whole roof won't work.

About the ceiling joints at the end that go the other way, presumably they need to be very securely fixed where they butt to the main joists?
How would they normally be fixed?
Hi Richard, thanks for your comment. They would just be nailed or screwed together, no need for boots or hangers as they are only taking the ceiling load. Hope this helps.
