New Jio Fiber 30Mbps Unlimited Plan Tested Wow or Meh

- Reliance Jio Fiber recently launched a new 30Mbps unlimited plan for Rs 399 and I test that plan with multiple video streaming devices to see how it handles we also test 4K video streaming on Netflix to see how this 30Mbps plans fares in real life.

For personal use for students living alone away from their homes, 30 Mbps will be more than enough.

The thing is, the first TV, laptop and phone had good buffer health before you started streaming on the second TV, otherwise it would've definitely lagged. Plus, if the router uses MIMO, it will route the traffic in a much better way. To load 1s of 4k video we need 11.2 Mbps (small 'b') and for 1080p we need 2.7 Mbps, so two 4k streams and one Full HD stream should work fine simultaneously on a 25 Mbps connection.
A person who can afford 4k telivision will definitely go for the higher plan. 😁

Ranjit feels like a geeky and considerate family member who cares about us soo much..
Love you Ranjit😁
4k takes about 12-14 MBPS, if you use on two devices 4K, total about 24 to 25 MBPS of 30 MBPS flow will go in to those and rest of the devices will find tough to run even full HD tough (1 might run though) but this is just fine for a normal Indian house hold. 30 MBPS is more than sufficient unless there is a joint family with 3-4 TVs. Great Review Ranjeet Bhai.

Rural areas won't be getting fiber in the coming 10 years. However, they do have satellite connections from BSNL, Railwire, Airtel Vsat. The speed is limited to 10mbps but its quite good. The only investment is the router and the antenna, the plan is priced around 500.
