Just arrived back from a 12 day trip over the Alps to Lake Garda, Como and Maggiore. Ended up doing a load of mountain passes - Fluela pass first and then all the others in one day consisting of Simplon, Nufenen, the new San Gothard, Furka, Grimsel, Brunig and lastly Glaubenbuhlen Pass as I say all in one day An absolute blast…. In a 911 Carrera 4S
Car looks great on the new wheels.👍 I'm just back from taking a Mini from Warwick to Corfu via Brindisi. For Northern Italy I prefer going on the overnight ferry from Harwich > Hook of Holland. It's 3 hours from our location to Harwich and a much easier/reliable journey than going to Dover or Ashford. Cost is similar to Eurotunnel. You'll be leaving the Port by 9AM CET and get to enjoy toll free Autobahns and some better scenery than northern France. Baden-Baden is an easy drive (6 hours) and beautiful place to stay. Then you have the option of the B500 to the Swiss border, or "Motorway". The Italian tailgaiting, as shown, is normal practice and gets a bit boring. They'll also pull infront of you one car length after overtaking on an otherwise empty road, totally ignore speed reductions for roadworks etc. All part of the "fun".
Great video, worth noting that in the film he drives it from the Italian side then over the border and down into Switzerland. The Italian side is stunning and a racetrack compared to the Swiss side which is more dodgy Scottish B road and quite nervy with some proper exposure…… You need to do a James Bond on the Furka, it’s a beaut too 👍
Really enjoyed that, thank you for taking the time to take us along with you both. The GT4 at the beginning at the front of the hotel looked absolutely stunning. The Twingo part made me smile, there’s always that one car that defies logic keeping up with more powerful cars ☺️
Don’t know if you’ve been before, but I wouldn’t go to Turin without staying at the NH Lingotto. Open air parking is gated & pretty safe, plus the desk will always give you the keys to the test track. ✅
I keep having thoughts of buying a cheap used Tesla as they are quick and refined etc, but then I see a video like this and think that I really should be getting something like a Cayman or GT86 while I still can and enjoy the lighter weight and glorious noise. (You could have got around the music copyright by singing the song yourselves :D )
Why not buy the Swiss Vignette online? All other European countries allow or force you to buy them online and it’s dead easy rather than old fashioned stickers that are a nuisance to get off.
Did the same trip in 2016 over the Grand St. Bernard. You're brave to drive into the centre of Turin! I stayed at Parco Sassi hotel and took the tram in. Looking forward to seeing what you did next - Lingotto and the National Car Museum were highlights for me.
Great video - just a quick question if that’s ok, but did you ever consider a 718 Spyder instead of the GT4 ? and what made you go for the GT4 over the Spyder ? Enjoy your trip. Thanks for the vlogs 👍🏼
Thanks JB! Yes it was good, tiring but good and it was pretty hot and humid in Turin. Never request a top floor room if it's hot as the sun bakes it and the a/c can't fix it! Still, better than bloody rain :)

12:40 I love how he's trying to bully everyone out the way but he just looks like a cute little twingo.
