This song was originally performed by Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash during the Nashville Skyline sessions in 1969, but that recording was kept in the vaults until 2019 when Columbia released a box-set with studio recordings of Bob and Johnny together.

Why was this never released in the 30th anniversary.. really weird that George is it the finale song of the concert but this track is not in the concert at all.

The fact Dylan never had G.E.on any recorded albums during his stint really upset him but Bob got sick of him real fast I’ve read in the book On the road: the songs of Bob Dylan which talks about every albums recording and all the tracks including ones rehearsed and others not released. I never cared for him and I disagree about not trying to steal the shine off Dylan as he posed on every song he played on. Dylan hated that. Just play. Instead he would look as Bob played the harmonica like “ how is he doing that” big grin smile over the most basic harmonica solo. The rest of the band thought it made Bob look silly and I agree. He was let go and his next band from late 1993- early 1997 was my favorite non “Band or Heartbreaker” band of his.
