Why has this video been shortened? Several songs have been removed from it since the first time I watched it. This is also reflected in the comments which include references to songs that are no longer here, like Seven Year Ache and Bobby McGee.

What a great show. Love em all but have a very special place in my heart for Kris Kristofferson . I sat in my bedroom wearing out his records. I was 15 of sixteen years old and was falling in love with songwriting. I’d never heard a combination of honesty, vulnerability and poetry, and I loved everything about him. I love how on this video, his guitar is slightly out of tune, but that only adds to his imperfect perfection. I think he’s the best songwriter of his generation. I’ve seen him several times over the years , from his days with Rita Coolidge to his older years playing his himself. Never met him, but I wanted to write songs that were honest. When Ifirst head “ For The Good Times “ I said to myself, someday I’m going to write a song that good”
More than a thousand songs later, I haven’t come close. Thank you Kris for all you taught me about songwriting and digging deep and always, always write honest songs.

@@n9n9n9n9n9n9n9n9 Kristofferson’s guitar is always out of tune. That’s part of his charm. It wouldn’t work for most people, so if you play, for God’s sake get a tuner!
Amazing Video I wished it did not end! Kris is a legend and proved it again when he sang and played that song! John is always a Pleasure to watch and such a true musician to watch, He does not hold back and never afraid! NORA is gorgeous and sings and plays just as nice as she looks Rosanna is another perfect match and represents her Dad nicely here.; What I would of given to be in there living room to see some of those sessions! Elvis is the perfect host and I have always been a big fan!!! Lets see more like this please!
These days I keep thinking of another Kristofferson song, Don’t let the bastards get you down. But his song here takes me back to a lonely time and gives new meaning to something I have often heard.

A million thanks to Elvis Costello for hosting this programme. And I love Kris Kristofferson so much that tears are running down my chin.
Kris is a wonderful songwriter, poet, singer, and human being. He always gives the best of himself and apparently to everyone who he meets. He is humble and kind during interviews, quite a few youtube comments over the years highlight his concern for fans going through difficult times. He is also very humble regards his talent. For me his voice is of the earth and her soul, his poetic lyrics tell very human stories of love and frailties. My life has been enriched by his life and music, the world always feel a kinder place whenever I hear him sing, talk or smile. This is what he offers to my life experience and because of that I am eternally grateful to Kris Kristofferson.
He is a talent that cannot be denied. His peers in Nashville when he was first getting started ate up his songs. They’d quote lines of his lyrics that impressed the hell out of them. His peers, oh…Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Janice Joplin, …. just to name a few.

Everyone always praises Dylan and Cohen (rightly so) but Kris is RIGHT THERE. I saw him in 2010 and he changed my life. He was playing at Casino Rama in northern Ontario. I was lucky enough to meet him backstage through a friend. I was so incredibly messed up ( drunk). He talked to me for about 15 minutes (he loved my Waylon t shirt.) When I shook his hand to say goodbye he would not let go of my hand and said " you alright son?" I said "yeah I'm good" and he then put his other hand on top of mine and said ,"ya wouldn't lie to me would ya?" Imagine that, a total stranger knowing I'm in trouble and showing concern. Totally changed my life. I truly felt that those super blue eyes (they're really blue!) cut right through me. He was so kind even to casual fans who were there only because they got free tickets. They all thought he was just the guy from that "Blade movie". They had no idea what a legend he is. He didn't care, he was kind to everyone. I love this man! Waylon, John and zkris are my Holy Trinity of a moral compass. Whenever I think life is too much, their music always pulls me through. God bless them!

I made the point on another vid about Eve Cassidy, whose music changed the world only after she died, that we never know what effect we've had in life, and what good we've done. This is another example - Kris changed your life for the better and unless he's reading this, will never know. But it is to his credit forever. Likewise us - pass it on, Tommy, pass it on, and never despair.
