    Had it for about a year. And it great if you dont have loud pipes and or not on the freeway. But cruising the streets its perfect. For me that is!

    Just installed on my 2014 Road King. Easy install for novice. Took my gas tank off(very easy on later models) and seat. Ran the wiring harness to battery red/pos black/neg and took the 3rd wire and the t-tap and put on wire pack going through the rear fender to the taillights and t-tapped the red/white wire which made the unit switchable with ignition. The road thunder plus is 300w unlike the 1st Gen which was 150w. I found it to perform well even when on the highway at 70mph. I think it looks better than having horn like pods on your handle bars. I like the USB plug for keeping your phone charged and also input for direct play when Bluetooth isn’t making contact. Lastly it has out put for amp or speaker add -ons. Can’t be beat.

    Why is it that every single video on this thing nobody shows the installation of the Ignition wire?

      12v switched I’d guess?

      If you have a Harley, find the orange and white wire going to your rear lights and clip the vampire tap onto it.

    I just got one of these for my (new to me) 2013 Yamaha V-Star 950. (just started working on it so I can't review the sound yet) Basic wiring? I have basic wiring skills. The "4 wires" are positive (red), negative (blk), Ignition (org), & Aux power to power another amp (blu). The kit comes with a "Tee Tap" (not a fan) but the trick is finding where on your bike to "tap" the ignition. Too many wire bundles on these newer bikes.

    Just bought a 2019 HD Freewheeler, installed a windshield and this Kuryakyn Sound Bar. Save your money. If you want to listen to music while driving over 50MPH forget it. I listened to Lemmy prior to my purchase. He obviously didn’t listen to this Sound Bar while riding. Stock pipes ( so it was loud) I am so disappointed. As he said, standing still its nice, once you accelerate you can’t hear it. (BTW, I wear a half helmet)

  • @thevoyer2002

    Not loud enough. Boss makes a cheap 600watt system that is plenty loud at 70mph if you have a fairing and windshield. I love it. 2 years on so far , very good system for $75. Cant beat it.

    First off want to say i love y'alls reviews!! Keep up the good work. My question is is the sound quality good at high volumes? Quality with volume is a big thing for myself. Would love to hear from you all.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 лет назад +1

      It doesn't get as loud as the speakers on the big touring bikes, but it does a good job at highway speed and higher volumes. However, there are limitations due to the compact size. -DrewZilla

      The thing is it has 2 mid range and 4 tweeters and some decent magnets so no real low bass which would be eaten by aftermarket pipes but the magnets keep it from distorting during high volume listening.

    Hi, I like so much your videos! Do you know if I can install and connect 2 MTX Soundbars one to the other, to “duplicate” de sound level? Because when I’m over 100km/h I hear no sound at all anymore... I saw the soundbar has AUX IN and AUX OUT plug too. In my mind it seems to be possible

    Red one and the black one on the battery ok but where do you plug the orange cable?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  4 года назад +1

      It's for Accessory/Ignition wiring: "The RoadThunder Sound Bar can be used with any 12-volt battery and can be mounted to a variety of bars using the included hardware. The unit has four wires in its wiring pigtail. The red wire, hot, should be directly connected to the vehicles positive battery terminal. The black wire, ground, should be connected directly to the vehicle’s chassis where paint has been removed or the negative terminal on the battery. Use the included T-Tap Quick Connect Female connector and install directly onto the ACC/Key ignition wire on the motorcycle using a pair of pliers. Connect the Quick Connect Male connector, located on the orange wire, and the T-Tap Quick Connect Female together. The blue wire, optional output, can be used to turn on additional amplifiers." Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

    The sound quality def depends on what phone your using .my phone is a Samsung galaxy j7 volume output is ok at speeds of 45-50.after that not so good.but on the other hand my gf has an iPhone and it cranks the system up much louder.

    What is the decibel rating for this?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  5 лет назад

      Unfortunately, Kuryakyn doesn't provide a dB rating. Generally speaking, it gets loud enough if you have a windshield, but at highway speeds without a windshield, the wind noise is too great. -DrewZilla

    So if I had a Fatboy with a Vance and Hines exhaust with no pre-muffler and I wanted to ride down the Vegas strip listening to and dancing to oh let's say Barbie Girl as loudly as possible would these be good speakers?

      That's because all Kuryakyn makes is cheap shit for a premium price. I got 180 dollar footpegs and they couldn't evne include stainless hardware so now everything's rusted and gross because they got wet.
