This is interesting to know! I didn't think such a term existed in Japanese. Considering this is all all about failing and still getting up again afterwards, I think girl-failure works better anyway, since, at least in America, being a tomboy is more about acting and dressing less traditionally feminine. Although I don't know how often it's even used anymore, since I think it's considered more normal now. I'm guessing it has a different kind of meaning in Japanese?
