Then she came out and announced she was gay and her whole show centered around that and the show was no longer funny because she changed. I don't judge people and don't care what her preference is, she was no longer funny in my opinion so I didn't have a reason to follow her. I saw a couple episodes of her current show and thought it was garbage so that was it for me. Horror stories about how she treats people didn't help her either.

A woman who was raped, who couldn’t be who she was for most her life, who was victim of prejudice, discrimination, and bullying, who lost everything she had by coming out saying she doesn’t want to interview regular people because she “can’t relate”? She “does’t know what she can talk about with these people since they have nothing in common”? How does that make any sense? What kind of person does that? So fucked up. Sad really.

Saw her at a local comedy club in the late 1980s. Her act was bombing, no one was laughing. So she turned her frustration on the audience and blamed us for not knowing what was “funny.” She turned vile and nasty instantly….we saw her true persona. Not dancing that day.

@@erlycuyler Covid is a big reason her ratings are down. No live audience and she was very much constrained in what she could do on her show when all her interviews had to be from remote locations. Ratings are down for a lot of shows that depend on audience interaction.
COVID is what finally brought her down. Remarks about being a prisoner in her home (I wouldn't complain about being trapped if my home was like hers! Total tone deafness.) Did not help, hot on the heels if her being schooled by Dakota Johnson.

Well said, it honestly astounds me how much ignorance there is around Royalty and appropriation. People seem to think they are like celebrities, maybe because they are seen in the media, but there is such a huge gap between the two.

I booked Ellen in the early 80s before she was famous. She kissed butt then to. To anyone at all she thought could give her an open door. But in general, was also more friendly to people.
The open doors of selling out for fame, obviously took its toll.

I know how she feels. I worked for 5 years for one hell of a toxic boss in a toxic environment. once you're out of it, and regain your senses, its really like a new dawn and you realise what happened to you over your time there.
Same, I got fired from a toxic environment I was in for 9 years. It's been over a year now and I'm still not totally over it, but taking it one day at a time.
@@psycold it takes time. Helps if you have supportive people around. Also, get some thorough bloodwork done, as toxic work environments trigger your fight-or-flight response and keep it on much longer than is healthy.

Since the revelations, I viewed Ellen as Dr. Jekyll on screen and Mr. Hyde as soon as the cameras shut off. I watched her show for a total of a couple of hours in 19 years, at a Drs. waiting room or similar. I thought Anne Heche was hot and I remember the story about Anne being disoriented and walking along a country road in her underwear. LOL

I don't think her show should be cancelled. I mean you may as well cancel the other abusive hosts like Kelly Ripa, Whoopi, Wendell Williams, David Muir and the list goes on. Many of these hosts are abusive to their lower-ranked co-hosts and also to their staff.
