Very good analysis as usual! I’m reminded of cliffhanger serials from the Forties. Gary is right-there were some very episodic quests. It feels like they were experimenting with styles, with some ‘misses’ but overall possessing some powerful ideas that were not fully explored. A ‘return’ to this world under Troughton would have been the best window to see the consequences of their involvement. Great show!
Hi Divining Dragon thanks for the great feedback. We had a great time with this one and like you I think they missed a trick not going back to Marinus with Troughton that would have been great. 👍
Great Show Guys! You are building a nice team Jon. Apart from the ever reliable and incredibly knowledgeable Paul ,you now have Gary ( RetroDoc) onboard. Enjoying the chats immensely 👍
I’ve watched this enough times that now I look forward to all the comedy gold * the infamous cardboard Voord falls down the chute * the mere threat of violence (or the strong breeze generated by Barbara swinging a small jug about in the air) scares the Morpho brains to death * the grabby statue arms * the Monty Python judges, and * the Voord tripping on his flippers 😂😂 I’m also playing guess Paul’s name tag each week. I would have gone with the Doctor’s line “… and I AM THAT MAN!”
Hi Roy, Thanks for the comment. I completely agree with you. During the original Doctor Who era they were limited by technology and although they still tried new things that sometimes didn’t come off they at least made sure they made they developed the scripts. I hope you are enjoying the channel? We are recording The Aztecs and Reign of Terror this weekend so a new recording will be dropping Monday at 18:00 (UK) 🙂👍

Warrengilson1835 definitely some great comedy moments in this story. 🙂
I miss when Doctor Who was about stories and not special effects ... 🦘
