@antonyherbert516 my mistake... I'm talking the 2015 battlefront 1. Not 2017 battlefront 2. There wasn't any sequel content because they released it before the sequels existed. The only thing was Jakku

I'm finding myself spending more on the switch ports of GoG games despite having a perfect laptop for it... But the lack of gyro is a definite bummer

BoboFett/JangoFett's actor is the voice actor in both games as well as narrating 2's storyline. Shout out to Temuera Morrison one of the most beloved actors in star wars history.

I was gonna say, most if not all the complaints are coming from console and pc. I have noticed audio bugs and distorted graphics, the AI can feel op too lol but I haven't touched multiplayer yet. I'm fine chillin solo for now until they patch things
Same here! I have it on my Switch and haven’t encountered nearly as many problems as everyone else claims to have. Hell, I’ve already poured a couple dozen hours into the game.

I am so glad it runs at 60 fps, thanks for the video I was really scared of it running at 30 fps when it’s a 2004-5 game.
That would be a massive failure as the OG RE4 from 2007 runs at 60fps on the switch and it’s the ported PS4 version
I was also worried about performance in split-screen. Looking good for the most part.

Shame there’s no crossplay. This is a game that really needs it.

This is the review I was looking for. I thought the game gonna be lacked at 30FPS but it runs at 60 FPS!! as palpatine said “a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one” great
Classic battlefront will always have a special place in my heart. I played this so much back on Xbox. It was actually the first DLC I ever bought for a game too, which is kinda weird now that I think about it hah!
Oh man... I played HUNDREDS of hours at SWB2 on my ps2 back then. Playing to the EA remakes I was so disappointed, telling my mates all we need is the og SWB2 with proper servers to play online on those giant maps.. What a time to be alive
The lack of galactic conquest on the remake was a massive oversight.
My #1 PSP game back then, hyped as hell this will be on the Switch!

I remember playing the Endor level countless times on Xbox when it was included as a bonus on the DVD for RotJ. Really excited to jump back and looks like it all holds up really well
These games definitely do not cover the sequel trilogy. No Resistance or First Order, thank goodness 🎉

Ah yes, the Sequels were truly awful. We certainly don't need them represented in video games, do we?
Come off it man, the Sequels weren't that bad. And even if they were, not having Sequel Trilogy content in video games doesn't help anything in the long run. We need more Sequel Trilogy content to help people come around to them. The same way that the Clone Wars helped people come around to the Prequels.
@@wanderingshadow1372Even if the Sequel Trilogy wasn’t awful, it was just Galactic Civil War 2.0 anyway, so there was nothing new that the First Order and Resistance could add to the table anyway.

You are right killing it... KOTOR with false advertisements and not bringing what they said they would. Now this one with broken servers.
@@Slashingthrough servers have only been an issue on pc as far as i know. Switch hasn't been an issue for me. And I'm not sure what the controversy is with kotor but I literally just played through them back in November and didn't have an issue.

@@AmericanHistoryXX1BF2 had pretty bad audio and graphical bugs. Not sure if it's patched yet as. Haven't played it again since release
I'm so happy to see these games run at a buttery smooth 60 FPS. Some of the other old Star Wars games on the Switch struggle to run that well, and I'm glad they didn't miss with this port. I'm very excited to play it tomorrow.
I just pre-ordered this while it's still on sale. I already wanted it because of nostalgia but the review made me actually get it. Can't wait to relive my teenage years!
Hey guys - I love this channel and have appreciated your reviews. But your integrity for me is in question. This release has so many issues with controls, bugs and menu options. These should have been caught in your review. It does make me concerned that this was done without honesty and integrity. Cannot invert, aim acceleration issues, auto aim issues, inconsistent sensitivity - server issues couldn’t be tested here necessarily but very concerned. You can see all over Reddit the issues and aspyr haven’t been good about updating their games. I’m so disappointed I purchased this last night based on this review.
Again - I appreciate everything you guys do - one of the best channels. But now that you’ve gotten more popular I’m concerned about consistent integrity.
tbh, I clicked this video knowing it would be a circle jerk for the game and not acknowledge the problems. I can tell a lot of their other videos do the same thing, so how are you, who seems to be a fan of theirs, just now noticing this?
The switch had a good launch and I've had no issues.
Well when cult of the Lamb first came out they put out a great review of it but said that their review was mostly based off of their time on the PC but they also tested it on the switch so I ended up buying the game based on their review and it was a horrible buggy mess and I literally couldn't even complete the game because I had game breaking bugs and input lag was horrible right from the beginning of the game. There have been a few games this has happened with on their channel now

THANK YOU for this review. This'll be my first time playing these games as, console wise, I only owned GameCube that console gen and never got a chance to experience them first hand back then. Pre-ordered, pre-loaded, and waiting for the official release.

I was really excited for this game when it was announced but was so scared because of a lot of other remakes being released in bad states. I’m glad this game seems to have been made well
I never played the original but when they revealed it during the Direct I was in love at first sight
already preordered and downloaded, now to wait the last 6 or so hours until I can FINALLY play this gem, or rather these gems!
Original Battlefront 2 actually didn’t have a quick perspective switch control, only the first game had that.

Played for about a few hours now with these classics despite people frustrated with the big online multiplayer issue i am still having a blast with the single player action both campaigns are short and quite lengthy and you can re play missions over and over again and you’d never get tired of the fun .
Oh definitely picking this one up over the weekend.

I remember playing SW Battlefront 2 on my PS2 as a kid. The port sounds amazing, and I would love to revisit the game, but I will wait for a physical. Like the other SW ports, I assume it will get a physical down the line through LRG. I would rather have a retail release, but who knows what will happen.

4:36 that's a really nice change - super small but going into the settings menu to mess around with this was the worst shame it's not for the 2nd as well - I hope the online community on switch is around for a while for this one

Me and my brother played the living heck out of this game and always enjoyed running Galatic conquest agaisnt each other. One of the best underrated pvp or pve game modes in gaming still..

I spent thousands of happy hours playing these games with my brother, particularly conquering the galaxy through galactic conquest. The games look and sound great while retaining the soul of the originals, I'm really really looking forward to playing these!!

Thanks for the review. Battlefront 2 was one of my favorite games on the original Xbox and I spent so much time in Instant Action. Really glad to have both of these games portable on Switch and I can’t wait for my preloaded copy to activate.

I remember my mom got me Battlefront for PS2 for either Christmas 2005 or 2006. I can’t remember but I remember playing it and loving every minute of it. So when I saw these available for Nintendo Switch I couldn’t resist. At first, it took me a minute to get back into in and get the feel, but once I did, I was in love again. I can’t describe the feeling of playing a game you haven’t played in almost 2 decades. It was like seeing a long lost friend. Like falling in love for the first time. Like beating your meat for the first time. All that said, I highly recommend buying Star Wars Battlefront pack for Nintendo Switch.

Tip for these games: There is a command you can say to make A.I. allies follow you, and having them with you makes you capture command points more quickly (while also giving the enemy someone else to shoot at.)

I played a bit this morning. I totally agree with your review so far, but the multiplayer online is frustrating - it's very laggy, and the servers themselves are a little empty, with the dedicated servers only allowing (for the moment) Hero Assault and Space Battles, which is weird [one would've thought they'd have a spread]. Great review as always guys, hope the game gets the community it deserves behind it!!

Just out of curiosity - why? I can't decide between Switch or PS5! I like the idea of playing this on the go with the Switch but feel like the PS servers will always be busier and have better future longevity.
@@dajr.6091the appeal for me is portability. The ability to take it wherever and set the joint up with a mate wherever we may be makes this worth it. I’m also pleasantly surprised at how good the port is described here.
@@dajr.6091 from what I’ve heard from other people the port of this game for PC PS five and Xbox at least from games launch have ran like shit online! Switch seems to be exception!

It would be worth doing an update video to review the online component, I've yet to buy this because of the backlash it got with online being laggy and only having 2-3 servers at most and bugs, have you experienced any of that with the switch version?

I'm not a star wars fan but I LOVED Battlefront 2 back in the day.
I remember playing battlefront 2 online with my psp! Loved that game.
Its a shame, as it's a collection, that they didn't include elite squadron (psp & ds) & renegade squadron which was a psp exclusive.
Still have my PS2 copy's hyped that it's on the Switch
I was playing this for the PSP a few days ago. Forgot this game was fun so I'd buy it for the Switch just for the online. Love that you can get in the many vehicles!!!

I remember liking the first Battlefront more because of the focus on the troops/non heroes. It was the first time a game put you as a soldier on a major Star Wars battlefield and showed it from that perspective. 2cnd was good and I enjoyed the heroes but felt the heroes became the focus over the soldiers.
Now, to be clear, even the offline mode has some bugs. At least in 2.
For instance, past a certain point in my galactic conquest run for the CIS, I could no longer get a droideka to engage ball mode; making the unit relatively useless at a command post not already under fire.
Also, that run eventually crashed; which I didn't ever save because a crash was something I honestly wasn't expecting.
I don't know if there's some kind of AI issue, as well. The enemy team was aggressive and competent. Good, but, I feel like my own team lagged behind. In space battles, for instance, the enemy managed to rack up 15 points or so early on in a fight before any objective was destroyed.
Ultimately, I'm not sure if I'll keep this one, because with a game like hypercharge, as simplistic as it is, being only five gb, is still more reasonable than 30; and we got off easy with that size!
Another precautionary tale of preordering, even at a discounted price: if something can go wrong, as unlikely or astounding as it might be, it will.
Is the XL mode also supported on the switch version or only on PC, Xbox and PlayStation?
