ASMR and anything else; what the Internet needs is tons more videos from the best channel going: the Devon Reviewer! Just received my first pair of 8" RW's, the 10877, the work version of the 877's. Of the 11 pair in my Red Wing collection, the ass-kickers of the lot, no doubt! With all the hiking and so forth you do, you would love the extra support they provide. Cheers from a snowy Minnesota, and thanks for another excellent video.
It might be wearing larger than the 875 because it is missing the leather lining in the front. Since it is lined with goretex they probably skipped the vamp lining.
I have the red wing 405 waterproof boots. After about 8 years they are still holding up. Only problem with them is how hot they get. They don’t breathe at all.
Hi, any updates on the dr martens and solovair boots ? Would love to see how they are all fairing out ..🙂 Solovair seem to be doing well with the sale of their boots. Their gaucho and greasy leather solovair boots are excellent. 👍
Just saw this video and was excited to watch, but I would have loved to have heard more about your year wearing these, as you had also provide a description with the other video of these boots. Either way, nice boot, but I was excited to hear more about their year of wear, how did they break in, did the fit change ect
I know these are being bought as a "style" boot, but honestly being that they are goretex and have the Irish setter logo, I want to buy them as a hunting boot for early season. My last pair of hunting boots lasted 10 years and where not built half as good as Red Wings. A pair of nice Red Wings that can be resoled should last me the rest of my life lol.
These are great boots but not ideal for winter hunting (Spring and Fall would be fine). The soles are a bit thin for heavier walking work and there’s no insulation. They’ll do you fine as 2-season hunting boots…not so much for winter unless you live in an area with warmer winter climates.
I dont really mind them, I would prefer to get rid of them but the main thing is that they are waterproof... and you are correct leather cream did not change the staining, I am not sure if it might prevent further issue?
There is no way you have 12 months on those. I have 3 months on mine and look nothing like that. I'm in so California and these boots are soft compared to 875 I don't see them lasting long. I don't think the upper will even last long enough for a resole. They are much comfortable out the box,but there is a pinch on the lounge that makes uncomfortable. And they are true to size, but unlike my 1907 and 857 these don't lace-up and Titeting like other boots,u can see it in his video here it's hard to tie laces. The gusset our tounge makes the boot spread out far so it looks like u have a fat obese foot. For the price these boots are way off. Bad craftsmanship and bad design.

Thanks my friend! I am jealous that you have snow... we just have rain!
Wow doesn’t seem like a year ago you got these! Great content as always!
Thank you!
Thank you, I have been looking forward to the update on these. They certainly are a great pair of solid, comfortable waterproof boots.
I like that Irish Setter red .
So do I!
Same marks on mine too, even before taking them out I had leather cream on them.
Strange isnt it, I am wondering if saddle soaping them might get rid of the staining.. I suspect not...

nice "review", nice boots. Might have to get myself a pair for the coming winter!//all the best troutbumandsam
They are a good boot, worth grabbing some, I dont think they will be around forever!

As leather is both waterproof and breathable, if well looked after, i dont see the need for Gortex lining, which will wear out ?
I am cautious about any liner for that reason.. but these really are very water resistant.. my feet can be soaked in normal red wings.. but not these
Can i use mink oil on them? Great review by the way…
We need some more reviews/updates on your selvedge!
I think I will post an update on my Onis soon!

Hi, where can I resole my redwing in the UK? any recommendations?

OK thanks thats useful feedback.. sometimes I think the videos end up a little long!
@@DevonReviewer I enjoy them!

is there a leather counter cover like the none goretex versions?
You should use Red Wing Natureseal as it is made for waterproof footwear. I have found that it slightly darkens the leather but otherwise works great.
Thanks I may try that out... I have just given them some Leather Cream as recommended on the webpage
Goretex lining means special treatments are unnecessary.
I go a whole size down!😊
Yes I was going to ask about sizing as im a uk9 and tried a uk8.5 but felt so loose so will try a uk8 thanks so much
I definitely go a half size down.
Do you recommend any type of insole or is the boot comfortable enough without one?
Are these steel toe?
Made the the good ol' US OF A or elsewhere?
USA as far as I am aware

Is your plan to try and remove those stains or leave them be? I don’t think leather cream will work.
Saddle soap and a Q-tip to really work the stain has done the trick for me with a pair of my RW's. Just an FYI.
@@brycecrousore1985 was it noticeable after using saddle soap and q-tip? Or did leather cream even it out?

I for one would heartily enjoy an asmr boot cleaning vid from you sir
Maybe one day!

The staining is a big problem on this boot...Don't buy it!
Dont get it if youre afraid of patina, because thats what this is
