Don’t give up on your dream. Your voice is so soothing and phenomenal. You have incredible range and I absolutely loved your cover. And I am so picky with covers of Ella. 5 stars all day. You felt that.
I had to do a project on George Gershwin for my college music class. Of course, I grew up listening to tin-pan-alley music and I especially loved Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong singing this song. This reminded me so much of my childhood, and I'm glad to see that Gershwin's music is still alive. Porgy and Bess was a wonderful show, and the film wasn't too bad either. You have a beautiful voice, keep singing. 👏👏
Summertime and the livin' is easy Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high Oh, your daddy's rich and your ma is good-lookin' So hush, little baby; don't you cry One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing And you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky But till that morning, there ain't nothin' can harm you With daddy and mammy standin' by One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing And you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky But till that morning, there ain't nothin' can harm you With daddy and mammy standin' by
Beautiful performance as we enter the deepest wintertime in history in the greatest depression in history following the Covid shambles. Originally Summertime was ironic as it was released during the Great Depression when there was no summer anywhere!
@@OlaideSteele Hi Olaide thanks for commenting back, much appreciated. I truly believe that your voice could turn this beautiful song into a Number One hit with a new version that does not merely copy the original or near copy it! I am also looking for a female voice together with a male voice to be one half of a Christmas song. I think your voice would be perfect. Would you like to talk about it?
Thanks Jessica! Really enjoyed it too! 😄 Aw that means a lot! 💜 Looking forward to the next one too! 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 I'll be making a special announcement in April's gig, very excited to share it 😁✨
Summertime, time, time Child, the living's easy Fish are jumping out And the cotton, Lord Cotton's high, Lord so high Your daddy's rich And your ma is so good-looking, baby She's a-looking good now Hush, baby, baby, baby, baby now No, no, no, no, no, no, no Don't you cry, don't you cry One of these mornings You're gonna rise, rise up singing You're gonna spread your wings, child And take, take to the sky Lord, the sky But until that morning Honey, n-n-nothing's going to harm ya No, no, no no, no no, no... Don't you cry, cry
Hey Arecia Rose, I think I did it in B minor. There’s an instrumental in the same key I did it in on Apple Music titled ‘Summertime (Live Berlin) [Karaoke Version] [Originally Performed By Ella Fitzgerald] by Karaoke Jazz Big Band. Hope that helps 😊💕
Hey Bethany! It's available on iTunes, it's 'Summertime (Live Berlin) [Karaoke Version] [Originally Performed by Ella Fitzgerald]' and it's the 'Karaoke Jazz Big Band' one 😊 💕
It is difficult to understand what this lullaby is about. What is the meaning of "you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky" ? Or "and the coton is high"?
Very nice cover of Ella F's interpretation of Summertime - however, she wasn't even close to being the 'original' singer of the song. That was Anne Brown, who sung it before Ella was born - Good performance - though I think you should make your own version of it to suit the strengths of your voice instead of restricting your voice to trying to copy Ella's. I think you do your voice a diservice. It's a great voice - let it fly free from those who have gone before.
Thanks Mark, glad you enjoyed the cover 😊 Good point, I've changed the wording in the description to reflect that she was not the first artist to sing it. 👍 Thanks that's very kind, glad you like my voice and thanks for your feedback ✨
My whole boddy had a freeze for a second when she started singing...similar to hearing the original for the first time. I feel she can increase those aggressive notes at the end abit more. Nonetheless this was amazing. You're gorgeous aswell.
Nope There is an eight-year-old little girl that sings this song and she killed it you guys can come close to the arrow sorry girls her name is Angelina Jordan
"Nope"? If you like someone else, go to their page and cheer them on, but why bring it here? This young lady is doing something most only dream about. We should praise her for it, not "Nope".

Overproduced. The the music overwhelms her voice...
