What do you mean the filters in? And what do you mean animated with the clock? Are you talking about my color grade for the clip? Yes I color grade the clips before I create visual effects.

Hell yea man Im glad you're learning a lot! The zappy lines around the watch come from the tv node. keyframe some things and mess around with that node to get that effect.

Hey thank you! Yea its pretty advanced but if even if you follow along, they more you practice the more it will start to click and you'll understand the workflow. I try and explain everything as simple and fast as possible because if I didn't these fusion tutorials would be SO long... I also have other fusion tutorials that are a little bit more basic that would maybe be easier for you to follow. I also have the beginner video that covers all of DR (well as much as I could in 40 minutes) and I could some basic fusion stuff. Cheers

@@JamieFenn I am trying to do a cloning video and everything has worked out great so far except that one of the videos changes when I come into the scene and then changes back when I leave (it gets brighter when I come into the room). Is there a way of locking in the color/scopes/brightness on the one clip so it doesn't change at all throughout so that it matches up on both sides? Thanks for the response btw! Awesome of you to try and help a guy out!

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about that except re shoot the scene with controlled lighting. The only way to make that work is to film with controlled lighting and make sure NOTHING changes in the scene when trying to clone yourself or else you'll have problems..

This was a radical tutorial Jamie, great job. The only thing missing, which I really wanted to see, was the cool blue HUD ring effect around the watch. Can you do a little tutorial on that component?
Bruce Williams Studio you can just apply the same technique with any clip to the watch. But I’ll do something in the future where I do something similar 👍🏼

I didnt want to make the video too long. But its just a stock video clip tracked and added in the same way I did the locations.

You can color correct before, during (in fusion) or after, If you do after, you'll have to right click on the fusion clip and select show in timeline, then color correct, then go back to the normal timeline by selecting it in the edit tab.

@@JamieFenn Thanks for the reply. I saw your video and I was able to do that using the built in 3d objects but when you import a custom 3d model the object is white. I can change colors but if I try to use a jpeg image it will not render, it only changes the object color. Try importing a custom textureless model and you will see what i mean. Its likely im doing sonething wrong and im not sure what it is.

Great videos, especially at this time when we are heading for isolation here in Sydney, Australia. I have on dumb question though - when ever you get into the spline you say the clip looks rather linear, what do you mean by that as they always look fine with me?
Linear meaning straight from points A to B. You can apply a curve however you’d like to get a smoother look. That’s what I do.

Thanks Gary! I did this all on a laptop, while screen recording at the same time. You'll be surprised what you can do if you change the project decoding down to prores LT instead of HQ and then optimize your media. :D

What do you mean the last little bit of zoom in with the light? Im pretty sure I showed you using a transform, dent, and glow effects on the clip you want to teleport to. Or are you referring to the wormwhole star clip?
What does 'Generated optimised media' do in the background? Load it all into memory?
basically allowing the user to transcode the various formats to the ones that work better within Resolve. Default optimized format is ProRes 422 HQ and can be changed in the general options.

Yee. Man animating things is hard! I love Fusion panel but some weird stuff always seems to go wrong! I get frustrated trying to figure out what lol. Once I got the second box it started going all weird sized before I even added the grid warp. Will try again later, great tutorial man. Do you have any other resources of things I can try out? I think I just need to spend some more time in the programme to get used to things.
Hm weird. I have funky things happen sometimes but I just redo certain steps and it fixes it.

Could be your computer as well. If it doesn't meet the base specs it could perform a little funky

Hello Jamie, hope that you can see this comment. I want to say thank you for your awesome videos, I tried to make one, was so much fun but my Mac (2019 16inch) was crashed and freeze , does any one have the same problem??
Im on a 2017 macbook pro so you shouldnt have any issues.
Man you are doing the lord's work, but here's something about Davinci's renderer it just doesn't look as...snazzy as effects rendered out of Adobe's engine. There's something about a lot of effects in Davinci that just seem...incomplete or janky even.

im really confused and frustrated im trying to follow along with the stock footage but i keep getting half downloads this download only includes the watch no audio and no other clips i hade the same issue with the spiderman one

Jamie, After Creating the Fusion Clip when i want to check the footage of Holograms in the Fusion Tab Its Not Showing Up !!! What's Happening any Guesses ??
I am doing a different project, but how do you know which nodes to connect your masks to? Also, do you have to keyframe the mask?
What ever clip(or piece of media) you add to your node tree is connected with a merge node. If you want to mask that clip then you connect it to the merge node its connected to.
Can i make this effect in 18 version? Btw nice effect!
