HPI shows it was scrapped 06/05/2022. Sad times 😢
Thanks for providing the update. It's a shame.
Any chance you could check what happened to my dad's MK4 astra aswell. It was Y61WCR would love to buy it back if it's still on the road
I have been wondering about the fate of this car for a while, clicked immediately 👍

if theres no details its been scrapped, same happened with my old Impreza. It got written off a few months after by the idiot I sold it to and went to the big motorway in the sky lol
Great video and I well remember the first detailing vids you did on that car. I'm addicted to tracking my own old cars on the DVLA website.
Thanks, I'm always hesitant to check my old cars out since I know most of them will be gone haha.
So sad that it was scrapped. I found your channel through that video and have been following ever since
Yeah it was a shame, thanks for being a long term follower. It's appreciated :)
The car and video series that bought me to your channel! Sad it appears to be end of life, but you gave it a chance!
Thanks for being here all this time Paul. I appreciate all the comments you have left over the years. Yeah, I think the channel gave the car a couple of more years at least.
My introduction to the channel that exterior video! Love watching filthy old cars being detailed - bit of a fetish of mine 🤣
It will be in South Africa I bet if the reg is not recognised
Hahah more chance of it living for another 30 years there
Particular fondness fir the 1.7 diesel astra G as it was my first car 13 years ago. But even though you say the astra G is rare, I see more surviving astra G than more modern astra J models on the road. The G was far better build quality.
There were built very well. I've had 4 myself. It's surprising how much nicer some of the materials are compared to new cars. Velour seats, soft fabric on the door cars (front and back) and soft touch plastics over most of the top. We seemed to have traded build quality for things like electric handbrakes and reversing cameras.
@TorqueSteer that's exactly what's happened. The price needs to stay low but customers want all the gizmos. Somethings got to be cut.
Love a high mileage hero, especially when someone decides to do the work to keep it running. Shame that it's no longer on the road, but this was a cool trip down memory lane!
RIP Murphy, you had a long road!
Such a shame
I'm a sucker for an older car and keeping them looking as close to factory fresh as possible
Same here. A very clean 30 year old run of the mill car can turn heads just because it shouldn't look in that good condition.
Think there will be a great interest in saving these type of cars no matter their age and mileage as mechanically fixable. Its the rust
Unfortunately, yeah the rust is a problem. The Astra was getting a bit scabby underneath. There wasn't any holes showing but it was probably only a matter of time.
RIP Astra.
love it hope it lives forever
Hello Luke, shame about the fate of the Astra,I remember videos on RUclips about the car.a few of my cars in the past have been scrapped.i do miss my last car I had though I sold it for a new car.

I remember this car well from those detailing videos. Sad to see it is no longer on the road.
