- I didn't expect this video to be this long so im going to see how it does. If it's not doing well im going to take it down and do a quicker version of the story. If it does well I'll upload a part 2.
THANK YOU for the likes, subs, comments and just positive vibes in general. I love and appreciate every single one of you 🙂

So this whole part of the story im living in Florida. My father retired from the fire department, he was working in Brooklyn, we were living on long Island. My father retired and moved us to Florida so this whole part of the story is taking place in Florida.
Tell the whole story brotha! Even if you do it in parts. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Joey!
happy holidays, i hope you had a good Christmas (or whatever you celebrate)
love ur videos bro
You're a GREAT storyteller and a "natural" as far as comedy goes... I'm hooked!
Joey u went from 9k to 13 in 3 days I think. I bet u have 50k by june
Hey man, honestly don't mind the longer videos! I feel like I can listen to you talk for hours on end.
Yeah, the longer the better
Feel the same!
He’s so well spoken, that he’s the only person who could post a long video, and I’ll watch the whole thing!
same here
yup i agree the longer the better, keep it up man
I am a social historian and you are posting your personal social history. I and many others will benefit from you sharing your personal experiences. Please continue this series because people will learn from you.
I agree timothy. I run a pizza place for years and I can’t always tell if somebody is high or what they’re on and I’m thinking it can’t be here when Koons heroin wipes you out but Joey explain that if you just do a little chip of it, it actually energizes you and Jacks you up. I’ve never done any drugs but I’d like to be able to identify if somebody is on them by how they are acting, and what hard drugs make them act a certain. It’s very difficult but if somebody’s acting jacked up I can now realize that it also could simply be heroin in tiny doses.

I was homeless in Stockholm Sweden for 7 years when i was 25-32.
And i always find myself having a really hard time explaining why. Drugs was a part of it, but ive done drugs all my life.
It was very similar to your story though. I became 25 and realized my life just was work, fear and doing things i didnt want to do. I hated my job, my car, my apartment. It just felt like a f-ing curse to go to a job working with people i hated and for what? To be able to do it all over again next month?
I just threw everything away and decided that it wasnt worth it.
Sweden is cold and snowy in the winter. But i felt like i had to stay true to myself. I know who i am and im rather homeless and hungry with my back straight than bending over.
And now, ten years later, im SO proud over what i did. I really love myself for that.
I also quit heroin btw. I was IV-ing it.
Thanks for your channel. Ive watched all your videos!
/Jimmy from Sweden
Did u get over of your fears?
Bro … u don’t think heroin was a big factor to u hating your job and stuff ? I can only imagine how hard it’d be juggling all those things
Thanks Jim!

The RUclips algorithm is blessing this man. You sir will be living nice soon. Keep up the hard work!
No lie they blessing him for sure 😂

You're a good soul. God is watching over you brutha. I'm in Sarasota neighbor. We had similar upbringings. Tough roads as I think most people at some point go through it. I've done every job you can think of. Been homeless several times but never the streets. Drugs and alcohol will take anyone down quick. I'm now a general contractor and own a construction company. I've been a police officer (10 years) EMT, sold cars, worked security and retail, bartender, truck driver class A. I've done alot. You hang in there. And remember Jesus is always listening and wants you to call on him. Stay the coarse as things will change for the better. You're still young. Keep those stories coming. 👍👍👍😎
You seem real interesting, you ever feel like sharing from your journey I'd sure listen, peace from Northern Ireland 👍🙏
That is a wonderful, heartwarming, and virtuous pep talk.

I much prefer your videos being this length. Giving yourself enough time to fully explain the context of the situations you're discussing makes us (the audience) feel like were not missing out on contextual information. It makes us feel like you're telling a genuine story rather than rushing. The longer you talk, the happier we are. Thanks for sharing your stories with us dude. Sending love from London

In 89 (Florida) my X wife left having a mid-life crisis at 27. she cleaned out the bank, the apartment, everything. she took all the bill money for two months+ when I got the mail myself, I found out how screwed I was. eviction notice, everything unpaid, I had a job but was fucked. I moved into an abandoned house next to my job, no utilities. got a membership at a gym for the showers, the house had a bed, and a window in the bedroom to look out with the days last beer trying to figure it all out. I recovered. the point is homelessness can happen fast to the best of us.
I had a piece of crap xwife too. Difference is, I didn't let her take one red cent from Me. She had family support, I had myself and only myself. I never trusted her so I made sure to protect everything I earned. That's when I came up with the phrase "Pumpm' & Dumpm'".
@@sidebite2533 I was a youngster at the time, 18 when we started, I didn't know anything yet. it was a hard lesson.
Thanks! And keep going....you got this in a bag if done right. Also what's funny is when your like I'm not trying to kill your dreams, but I ain't giving you a pep talk either, I laughed my ass off when you said that. Your hilarious
Thanks i appreciate the you 😀. And i appreciate the super may it come back to you times ten. Thanks for watching 🙂

@@joeythegypsy YOU are AWESOME!! I LOVE listening to you, you are keeping it REAL, no fake crap.. It don't matter how long your videos are just keep being you.. I went to NA with a friend, she didn't want to go anymore after going 2 or 3 times. Well I kept going because I loved listening to the other people's REAL LIFE STORIES, I could relate to so many of them, plus I learned so much. So PLEASE Joey keep these stories coming because I'm listening. THANK YOU, MUCH LOVE FROM OREGON. OH, I just found your channel yesterday, so I've got some binge watching to get too. There is so much inauthenticity in the world right now Joey, we need people like you! Shine that light cuz you're making us smile! ✨️
Please tell us the whole version in parts. You're not telling a boring story. You're interesting.
Very interesting. People want to listen to you. I just discovered your channel, love listening to you.
I appreciate the authenticity of how you tell your story. Feel like it’s the closest chance I have to actually know you as a person. One thing, you’re definitely funny. Had me rolling for 34 minutes. Be looking forward to the part 2
Very interesting channel. You got a great story to tell! Much love all the way from snowy Finland.

I loved this man, give us part 2! I don’t mind the long content at all, in fact it’s good to just have on while chilling
Love the story's man your a great story teller!
No worries… I love that you just talk cause it’s like a real convo with a friend
Love this man please finish your story. Long version is good I was hooked listening the whole time.
Bring part 2 Joey!!!
Hey man, I’m 16 years old and I drive about two hours between my moms and my dads house multiple times a week and your videos are really what make it tolerable. I love hearing your story.
I love listening to you man. Don't mind you taking longer at all. Looking forward to part two. :)
Dude don’t worry about the length of the video- it’s refreshing to hear real stories from real people. So many people on RUclips are trying to sell something basically and end up just commercializing themselves. This seems more like meeting an interesting yet random person and having them tell you their story..people love that- especially at a time when we are all in some way feeling the social anxiety of how the past few years have disconnected us from interacting with other humans, especially those we don’t already know. I am really enjoying these conversations/stories.👍🏽✨ keep it up- and keep it real, don’t sell out💯✨
much support from Croatia Joey, have a nice life mate !

I listen to this guy at work feels like I'm listening to a coworker, helps pass the time
Love this dude’s channel. Keep em videos coming
My favorite uncle when I was a little kid was a homeless drunk. I loved him and he loved me. I wanted to be like him when I grew up. I succeeded. He's been dead for years and I've been sober for 25 + years. Rest easy Uncle Junior, I love you man!
The true battle lies within, your inner strength is inspirational
I just quit from checkrs, they only pay $12 an hour and no overtime. Not the best place to work so i feel you there
Joey, I love your stories and especially love longer videos. I prefer to sit down for 30 minutes to an hour and walk away with an important lesson rather than having been broken down into smaller parts. But do whatever you feel comfortable with. I wish you a Merry Christmas, and am looking forward to all of your upcoming stories.
You’ve got a way with stories and words, I could listen to you speak for hours and hours
do more parts!! you're a great speaker and i could listen to you speak for ages
Don't be afraid to make long videos I'm sure most of us appreciate your stories. I think you're my new favorite Channel. 😍
Yes I just discovered him a week ago he is a great storyteller! Something about his voice and personality I could just listen to him forever just like someone else said

Keep it going. Don't worry about the length. You're a funny guy. I'm 63yrs old, high AF and enjoying the story. That's a cool hat by the way. 🙏🇺🇸✌️😎
I feel so lucky to live in Australia where we have unemployment, that they will essentially never screw you out of if you are in trouble. The will assist with your rent and the worst case scenario is you have to do some part time volunteer work to stay on long term.
I'm 46 in Melbourne, Australia. I get the Carer pension and Carer Allowance to stay home 7-days week to look after my 75yo Schizophrenic mother as her full-time Carer. My mum has skin cancer, and can't walk much due to arthritis in her legs.

Bit late. But you are such a great story teller. And your look of life is quite equal to mine. Happy that your channel came to me yesterday! Love it.
I recently found your channel and I really appreciate your openness and no bullshit approach, just being yourself without like you said being contrived. I think you have a lot of valuable things to say, so personally I'd like to hear your story just told as it comes to you without worrying about time constraints, sure break it up into a part 2, 3 4 whatever, I'll tune in ! Regards from Ireland

Good story, dude. A lot of this I can relate to ... I went through a construction/trades phase after high school ... although I was lucky that I was a good student and never 'got into trouble' (it never appealed to me probably because I'm on the spectrum, so my mind didn't need further disruption) . After I burned out on being a ditch digger, painter, siding installer, and apprentice electrician ... I went back to school to get a degree ... I've been a slave ever since - but at least a well paid slave considering where I started :D
As others said - it's good. Don't change it. Make parts, good idea. It's interesting, it's real and I learn from your stories. I hope the video will do good, because I'm looking forward for the next part.
you are the storyteller i like, raw, with real emotions, i can listen to you for hours
Keep going. I’m enjoying listening to your life story or just your stories in general. 🙂
I'm glad you ended up doing the several parts. Great stuff man. You are a great story teller
I love your stories man! You are an inspiration. I'd love to hear more drug stories, stories about what being homeless is like, anyways I hope you stay safe, and take care!
Legit in the last 3 weeks you’ve created yourself a RUclips career sir! Congratulations
its interesting to hear other peoples stories and you seem like you have a lot to tell.
Dude it feels like listening to the cool uncle telling his life stories, I love it. I could watch a 2 hour video of yours, this one felt like 5 minutes so don’t worry about the video length! Kind regards from Sweden
Man, your story is really interesting and the way you tell it sells it doubly so - don't worry about videos being part of a series, you're doing great man, keep the content coming. 👍
Got sober off heroin in 2009. Definitely lucked out, wouldn’t haven’t made it in today’s world. I just heard about tranq, that’s like, wtf?! Praying for you, wishing you all the best!

Fun fact: You can clean popcorn ceilings by attaching a scraper to the end of a shop vac. No mess.
You are a good storyteller keep it up its good to see your channel growing
Please don’t stop the yt journey bro ever i I genuinely enjoy your content so much.
Sounds like we were homeless around the same time. Glad to see you made it out of that hole. This is captivating because it’s extremely relatable. Glad the algorithm linked me up to your channel. Much love.
Your voice and stories are therapeutic to my ears.
I appreciate the uploads, man. I see your channel has grown significantly. I've never seen this many followers stack this quickly. People love you! I wish you the best, and I hope you had a good Christmas. If you didn't have a good Christmas, know that many folks can relate. You're never alone. After I left the marine corps in 2014, I was homeless, living in my 2001 chevy trailblazer. It was rough for a little while, but I had more than some people did. I'm doing so much better now, though. I own an RV and a truck, and I've got 15 national certifications. Much Love, bro! Thank you for being the voice. It means a lot to some folks.

Your doing good man, for some reason and I don't know why I am drawn in to your story. Obviously you are a natural story teller. I think that is what you should continue and I think you will have success on this platform.
Watching your videos ....is helping me get threw my Suboxone withdrawal....going into day 4 tomorrow .....it's not extremely bad but just very uncomfortable......I think the worse part is my body aching and can't sleep or get comfortable
Im glad it's helping. Every second that passes brings you closer to exactly where you want to be.
Hi. This was interesting. Keep going. Also, your hair is lovely. Your stories have been a comfort in this dark time of my life. Best wishes to you.
I discovered your channel like a week ago and since then I've been listening to you when I come home from work (time zones work in my favor, since I'm european and I can see them at night when it's already uploaded). I couldn't care less about the lenght of your videos as long as you're comfortable with doing them as you like. I'd say your way of telling stories and show us how you live is captivating. Dear Joey,
Firstly, I doubt you will ever read this due to the fact that this video is over a year old, but I thought I'd write this comment anyway. I have watched a couple of your videos and, for whatever it is worth, I am proud of you. Your life story is truly inspiring and I am glad you were able to defeat your habits. The 34-minutes of this video flew by because of your ability to tell stories. Take care of yourself!
All the best,

Hey Joey, nice to meet you, happy holidays. I started listening to your videos about a week ago. I'm in the tri state area, I'm in recovery and went back to school and became an EMT in my post addiction life. I was all over the place and lost for any many years too trying to conquer fears and find myself and live a life actually worth living. I'm doing much better these days and love your stories.
Anyway real quick, When it's my turn to drive on long hospital to hospital transfers, I throw pod casts on my headphones or w/e to listen during the ride while my partner is in back with the patient. I find it kind of ironic how your videos randomly came up in my feed when I was doing a long distance transfer to a hospital in LONG ISLAND lol! You started talking and I was intrigued! Here are we are!
Anyway, I like your stories. You have the gift of gab, are entertaining, habw good insight and I think you are relatable to a lot of people. There's many of us out here who have talents and skills but have a hard time making money on them to live. There's plenty of people too stuck in careers they hate or in addictions without the courage to try something different. All your stories so far are inspiring. You seem like a good dude who can inspire a lot of people. I'm in the female mid 30s demographic and 100% am tuning in every time I see a new video. You're keeping me entertained and filled with gratitude during my long distance rides and medic school study sessions.
You take care, don't worry about the length! You 100% have the ability to hold people's attention spans down. In this day and age it's hard to find ppl who can do that. You have a blossoming you tube career coming your way. We are here to support you and listen!
It appears your true calling was YT..and the way your channel is growing you may have financial freedom in the near future. By doing something you actually enjoy!
